Comingsoon.net Confirms Dawn Treader Will Be in 3D

Posted March 23, 2010 1:45 pm by fantasia_kitty

As an update to our story earlier today, Comingsoon.net contacted their sources and confirmed that a decision has been made and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will be released in 3D.

Earlier today, a rumor started circulating the internet that 20th Century Fox will release The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 3D this December. ComingSoon.net has confirmed through our source that it is indeed the case.

It will be a 3D-filled holiday season, which kicks-off with DreamWorks Animation’s Megamind on Nov. 5. Disney will then release the Rapunzel film Tangled in 3D on Nov. 12, followed a week later by Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 on Nov. 19. The other 3D release scheduled for December is Disney’s Tron Legacy on the 17th, right in between “Narnia” and “Travels.”

As far as I’m concerned, there’s really no bad news here. 3D movies have been making an immense amount of money compared to what they would have made if they had only been released in 2D, even considering that this particular movie will now cost an approximately $12mil more to make now (assuming the run time is about 2 hours). The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was shot without being planned as a 3D movie, so it’s not going to be all about the special effects. And for those of you out there that really don’t like 3D movies, nobody is forcing you to go see it in 3D; there will still be a 2D version released as well.

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

A lot of people were complaining how Avatar was good visually but poor in content. I agree, and that should give VDT a leg up since the content(hopefully) is so amazing, and if the visuals are awesome, we'll have an all in all great 3D movie.

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

Icarus, that's exactly why I have been arguing about since the very beginning of this 3D craze. It frankly makes me furious when a studio goes in and alters the vision of the director. Although Fox is notorious for that sort of thing no one should be surprised.

As for him shooting the movie differently, that is absolutely the case. As I've mentioned in earlier posts throughout this thread, when shooting a movie in 3D, a director has to shoot the movies. Everything from the way shots are set up have to be altered for the medium.

People in the industry who know what they are talking about keep saying the same thing, you can't shoot a film in 2D and transfer it to 3D and expect it to look good. It doesn't matter about the amount of time it takes to convert it, its the fact that it is being converted in the first place.

I love Dante's quote and agree 110%

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

If I had any doubts about my first viewing being in 2D, they are gone now. Gosh, I'm not sure if I want to see the 3D version at all now.

Like Icarus said, it's not that surprising that this is how Apted feels. It's just surprising that we're hearing about it.

One more reason for me to dislike Avatar.

^^ ditto! I don't want to see VotDT in 3D at all. I didn't before, but if Apted didn't want it in 3D, then he obviously had no 3D stuff in mind when filming it so it might look awful in 3D! Image

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

I was ecstatic to find out VDT would be in 3D, so of course, that's what I will see it in. 3D effects have come such a long way, and is really a wonderful way to watch a movie, in my opinion. Plus, VDT's going to some of the Narnian world's most exotic locations, combined with the 3D effect... I'm sure it will be an absolutely beautiful movie.

As for the director not intending it to be made in 3D, it was extremely unfair for him, but it may be a plus for the movie. After all, there wont be any overtly intentional 3D shots (like the one of the measuring tape in Journey to the Center of the Earth). Instead, the 3D effects may serve only to make the scenery in the movies (such as the snow and the Lillies) look more realistic, which is definitely in its favor.

I think it's great that its coming out in 3D, and I think it's kind of ridiculous that anyone would mind that! But who knows?
I want to see it in 3D, but I don't know if my family will. Hopefully. Image

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

Part of the reason I oppose it is from a purely moral perspective. As a film student and someone aspiring to work in the industry, I don't want to work in an environment where personal creativity is stifled for the sake of making a few extra bucks. As more and more films are being "post-converted" to 3D, its possible where this precedent of studio power over directorial control becomes widespread.

I feel like anyone who is into film making, or writes, or works with any medium of art would feel this way. How would you like it if you, as a director, spent 2 years of your life on a project, and made the absolute best movie you could, but then the financing studio comes in and says "Hey, what you made is great, but we're going to change it, not to make the movie better, but just to make more money." I know I personally would hate it.

If the director makes the choice to make his or her movie in 3D, as James Cameron did with Avatar, or Martin Scorsese did with his upcoming Hugo Cabaret, then I am 100% behind that decision and would without question see the movie the director intended it to be seen.

I, however, cannot support seeing a movie in 3D when it goes directly against the director's wishes and vision.

People also still don't seem to understand the difference between a film being shot in 3D and converted to 3D in post-production. When a film is shot in 3D, everything from set design to the way shots are set up, to the types of cameras used, to the way the film is shot and edited takes the 3D into account. When you're shooting a film in 3D, you literally cannot shoot certain scenes the way you would if you were shooting in 2D. The result should be spectacular, like what we see with Avatar. When a film is shot in 2D and then converted, it takes none of this into account. They're taking a movie that is meant to be seen in one medium and turning it into a format that is not right for the film. The result of that is the horrid 3D that was seen in Clash of the Titans and The Last Airbender. It has nothing to do with the time taken to convert the film, and it has nothing to do with "cheesy 3D shots." It's just that from a technical standpoint, the film is meant to be a 2D film. This isn't just me talking, there are countless of people in the industry who know what they are talking about that say the exact same thing.

Sorry for the rant, it's just a topic near to my heart and I tend to get fired up when discussing the issue.

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

Meh. I hate 3-D films and I think that particular bubble is already bursting in general (3-D trailers get groans from the audience whenever I'm at the theatre). The 3-D glasses don't often fit over actual pairs of glasses and I know too many people who get motion-sickness. If my local theatre is playing the 2-D version on opening day then I will choose to see that. If it's only 3-D I'll still go and I'm sure it'll be "neat" but detract from the overall beauty of the film.

bbkey,
I do understand better what you mean now, thanks for the words. It wasn't a rant!! I do agree that after a movie has been filmed, making a few changes to make it into 3D, is pretty silly. So thank you for helping me to understand better!!

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

I have never seen a movie in 3D. Well when I was about 5 at Disney Land and saw that Michael Jackson one. But other than that, our theater here in my town (small town) doesnt have a theater that shows 3D. So I will have to drive a hour if I want to see it in 3D. However we will be at my in laws in Chicago and i get to go to it opening night there. So VDT will be my first movie in 3D. Now do you have to buy them in 3D cause I dont want to have to wear glasses everytime i watch it....

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

I think that since he hadn't wanted it in 3-D the film will be better. They have plenty of time to convert it to 3-D the right way, and it will still be cool in 2-D.

I suppose I'd better clarify. Say that George Lucas had Star Wars redone in 3-D, and had invested enough time and energy to make it almost exactly like a movie filmed in 3-D. It would still be the same movie, and as long as you don't have any problems with the glasses or with motion sickness, I really think your experience would only be improved.

Not all films converted into 3-D in post production look cheesy, as long as they have the time to get the work done. Case in point, G-Force was filmed in 2-D and converted into 3-D. Did any of you who have seen it think it looked any worse than a movie that was filmed in 3-D?

Just wanted to give my two cents.

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

Although not entirely relevant to VDT, i was very surprised to read just now that the 3D Release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 has been cancelled:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11506354

There may be a slight knock-on effect of more additional 3D screens being available for VDT when the time comes, though its a good 3 week gap between the movies, so it probably won't make too much difference either way - its still going to be all about Tron and VDT when it comes to the battle for 3D screen availability (or lack thereof)

General Movie Discussion | Re: The VDT in 3D Poll

Harry Potter no longer in 3D? That is great news! Now there will be no question as to whether theaters will show HP or VDT on their 3D screens! I know there are a few weeks between release dates, but there is a lot of hype about Potter since this is the beginning of the end of that series and I was a little worried that it might do so well at the box office that there might be a contest come Dec. 10. Now VDT has a full week to reign in 3D without competition.

It would be cool to see it in 3D, but I want to see it in 2D first. This is a really dumb question, but do you have to pay extra to produce a 3D picture?

Even if it will not be as high quality as a movie filmed for 3D, if it makes enough money to continue the series I'm all for it.

  • Narniamiss says:

I know it’ll probably do well, but I myself am not really happy with it. I know that a lot of people hate 3D, and may not bother seeing the movie at all now that it’s in 3D. I’ll probably just go see it both ways, though. :D

    • Samuel the Magnificent says:

They said in the report that it will be available in 2D as well, so that shouldn’t stop anyone from going to see it just because it’s in 3D.

    • Duffleglum says:

I have never heard of a movie ONLY available in 3D… if anything, this is a GOOD move that gives us viewers an option.
Our only concern is how good of a job they do making it BECOME 3D

I’m buying tickets for this in 3D, just to say thank you to those who made this film better than the first 2 films

    • Hope in the Lord says:

Ok, why does every movie have to be 3d? I saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D but it wasn’t that special. So why change it from 2D and everyone can be satisfied?

      • Beruna says:

Because it will bring in more money. I hope not to come of as rude (I really don’t intend to), but why so picky? Some people DO like 3D.

  • Narnianerd says:

Well there ain’t no movie theater around me that shows 3D movies anyway… Its a rural area… SO I’LL GET TO SEE IT IN 2D MAHAHAHAH

  • Eden says:

That’ pretty cool! Unfortunately, my stomach can’t take 3D in the theaters, so I will be going to see the 2D version. XD

  • NarniaHannah♥(used to be celtic13 and LucyReepicheep4♥) says:

well… the good news: now maybe VDT will rake in more cash. and it might be kinda cool to have the DT pop out at you.
the bad news: the tickets will be more expensive now! And I want to see it in 2D AND 3D! but I don’t hink my parents will let me. I better be pretty good from now until December….

  • Lady Polly says:

WHY DID THEY DO IT!!! WHY!!!!

    • Samuel the Magnificent says:

What is so bad about that? It’s in 3D and 2D. You can still see it in 2D! :) Although I’m going to see it in 3D. 3D just makes it all the more better.

  • yeswelovenarnia says:

YES!!!! I am very happy!!! Now even if they mess up the story (which I KNO they did!) it will still be worth it!! Hopefully my stomach can handle it. I have actually never gone to a 3D movie…..

  • Servant of Aslan says:

While the 3D in Avatar was very good I’ve yet to see a 3D movie where the image doesn’t look dimmer than a regular 2D movie. Guess it’s the polarized glasses. My first viewing will definitely be 2D.

  • Fluffernutter says:

I think Dawn Treader could look amazing in 3d if it’s done right. I’ll try to see both versions though.

  • Anonymous Narnian says:

Yay, I’m very excited! I was hoping they’d make it 3D. This will be great, maybe it will be more like actually being in Narnia. :)

  • AndreyaofNarnia says:

Which to see first? I’ll probably see the 2D first, for the plot and acting, and then the 3D.
Either way, I can’t wait for a trailer! Keep the story of Aslan alive!!

  • narniamaniac says:

3D! That’s fantastic! My heart leaped a meter when I saw the headline!

    • NarnianElf says:

Mine too! Only maybe not as far because of the previous headline, I knew it was a possibility and I figured that they were probably leaning toward 3D. Still, that was an EXCITING moment!!

  • NarniaQueen411 says:

OMG!!! this is going 2 b sooooooooo cool! – everything coming out at u, like the seaserpant…eeee!!!!! :D :D:D:D
2 bad its not in 4D (then we’d feel rain, and smell food, and stuff)
But now i am 4 sure having a trip 2 the theater w. my friends 4 my 15th birthday party (a week after the movie comes out!!! :D :D:D )

    • Beruna says:

Congrats! I wish a narnia movie would come out near my birthday!

      • lucy12 says:

I am SO excited I love that my b-day is just a day after the moive is in theaters!!!! But I think I am going to see it in 2d though, maybe I will be able to go again to see it in 3d???!!!!!! :)

  • Claire-ayes says:

Well. Now at least we know. I, for one, am glad about this – it seems to be the way to go for all future ‘major films’ & I’m glad Narnia is being classed as such. Also, I think it’ll be an awesome way to see the film, as said in the last article, it won’t involve any gimmicks, so I can’t see a downside. Unless you happen to be a person who hates 3D. Sorry guys!

  • Going4God says:

    I think i’ll see it in 2D.

  • KingSkandartheJust says:

Ok..that’s pretty cool but going to see the 3D movies in the theater is pretty expensive…at least it is over here in NY. Well I guess that’s why they like the 3D thing because it makes more money!

  • pselpevensie says:

i don’t know what to think about this. it’s cool, but, to me, Narnia just isn’t the 3D type. hope i’ll be able to see it in 2D also.

  • Waleed Sajjad Khan says:

    ok thats just AWSOME!! :D

  • Pippin/Merry/Gimli/all hobbits and dwarf lover says:

WOW!!! That will be really neat to see!:) But…I saw one it it was grainy…I hope it isn’t like that.

  • Musgrave says:

Yes! 3D! Now I have a plan. I’ll see it first in 2D (so I wont have a heart attack when I see it in 3D,) then hopefully Ill see it in 3D, and finally at a dollar theater. I saw LWW once in theaters, PC twice in theaters and now I hope I can see VDT three times on the big screen!

  • AMD says:

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! this has absolutely made my day!!! Skandar in 3D!!!! That’s the best Christmas present ever!

  • Eleanor Gold says:

I like this development. I mean, VDT didn’t even make it on the teaser-trailer.com list. This had BETTER be a hit or else, I know, GASP, they might not make another. They’d better get the word out. Narnia forever, ppl!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 :D

  • Mark Friedrich says:

Can you only see the movie in 3D?

  • Lamppostshines! says:

YAYYY!! I knew it was going to be released in 3D so I’m pretty pleased. I’ll definitely see it in 3D. No doubts bout that.

  • Little DLF says:

OMG AWESOME!!!! I wanna see it even more now! It’s like being right in Narnia!

  • Smooshy says:

Oh brother. I’m not a fan of 3-D. It’s kind of neat, I suppose but I know too many people who get motion-sickness from it or have a hard time fitting the 3D glasses over their own. Also, I really don’t think it adds to the medium. I’m saying this without seeing Avatar (yes, I live under a rock, lol). I did see alice in Wonderland in 3D and I would have liked it just as much without this latest Hollywood trick.

  • Alambil and Tarvis says:

I think people who are upset about this decision need to remember that NO ONE IS OBLIGATED to see the film in 3D. For those of us who enjoy 3D, this is awesome news. For those who hate it or could care less, then just go see it in 2D. I honestly don’t see any reason to complain about this–if you don’t like 3D, then DON’T SEE IT in 3D.

When movies are released in 3D, they are usually released in BOTH 2D AND 3D, so there is no need to rant about anything. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SEE THE FILM IN 3D IF YOU DON’T WANT TO. It’s that simple.

    • Peter the Magnificant says:

Very true almbil and tarvis but still I mean it might put a bad name on the movie I guesd

      • Beruna says:

I’ve been thinking about this, and as I have never seen a 3D movie before, it seems most pople are upset with this news because the 3D looks supposedly a bit cheesy.
However, I personally know a few people who have pretty much recently seen one, and they didn’t think it looked dumb or whatever on the screen.
So maybe the 3D in this will be better- you neer know with technology, it soars upward in a surprisingly quick rate.
Anyway, why would it put a bad name on Narnia?? Excuse me, I don’t get why.

  • Reep13 says:

    No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Peter the Magnificant says:

Which fox why! !!!!!!!!!! The movie is ruined now the audience will pribabley be more focused on the visual effectsvthan the meaning of the movie. Oh my goodness I’m not a happy camper right now Haha and it ease not made to be a 3D movie

    • Beruna says:

You have said the first thing among these comments that has made sense to me considering why 3D should not be in the VotDT all day! About the visual effects….
But hey- when has it ever been easy to make a blockbusster this huge? :D

  • tenthofthatname says:

I’m in the 3D-is-a-gimmick boat for Dawn Treader…no pun intended. I hope the movie sells a lot of tickets for the 3D release to compensate for the cost of transfer. I’ll be seeing it in 2D preferably.

  • narniagirl399 says:

    yay! this is good.

  • MP_in_Narnia says:

I’m actually pretty excited to hear this! When the first rumors came out about DT being shot for 3D , I was very wary of the thought…thinking the film would be more cheesy and have things "pop" out at you for no reason other than it could be done. However, now I feel okay about it being released in 3D. I have a good feeling about the direction of the film and I think the 3D, if done well, could help the film’s success. And besides, now I have another excuse to see the Dawn Treader multiple times! ;)

And YAY for Tron Legacy in 3D!! lol

    • A_Narnian_Ship says:

Actually, MP_in_Narnia, it was not filmed in 3D. "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was shot without being planned as a 3D movie" (see article, last paragraph)

      • MP_in_Narnia says:

Yes, I know it was not filmed in 3D (I did read the article!…and pretty much ever other article on NarniaWeb) ;) lol. I just meant that I’m glad they’re CONVERTING it to 3D. And that, now that I’ve had time to process the thought of Dawn Treader being in 3D, I’ve gotten used to it, and am ok–even excited–about it. :)

  • A_Narnian_Ship says:

I am excited about this because I believe it will help the gross profit go up…therfore giving incentive to make more movies. I have nothing against 3D, in fact, I love it, but I do understand that the fear that now it is in 3D might bring people for the effects, not the story. But, then again, the more people, the more money, the more movies:D.

    • narniafan4ever ♥ says:

Haha….yup! ;) I think that I would have been disappointed if they had filmed it 3-D cause I would have been afraid that they altered some scenes in order to make it a better 3D movies. I am definitely gonna see it in 2D first…then maybe in 3D. :)

  • TheScribblingScribe says:

I’m not sure how I feel about this…

  • iluv_skandi says:

it isn’t a big deal i don’t think that its in 3d because if you go to see it, you can see it either way and when it comes on dvd u can buy it either way… not like they are totally shutting out the 2d version. i say YAY! because it will bring in more money and popularity… people will want to see it both ways (though i could care less about it in 3d)

  • Andrew says:

For those who think this will fail because the 3D was done post-production instead of being filmed in 3D , go and watch Clash of The Titans in 3D. The movie was completed, then after the success of Avatar they decided to convert the film to 3D.

  • Carrie says:

I remember in the prince caspian bonus features at the end of one of the videos there was a little clip of a dragon. What if that came at you in 3D??? That will be awesome!!!

  • Narnianheart says:

cool!! I really want to see it it 3D

  • Omac the centaur says:

Ok, enough of this 3D stuff. im ready 4 something new. :)

    • QueenLucy12 says:

Yes I am SO ready for something new to talk about for vdt!
I hope that the site would ATLEST tell us from the trailer is coming out SOON!
      I Can’t Wait That Long!

  • DawntreaderDJA says:

Please excuse me if someone else has submitted what I am about to share. It is my understanding (gleaned from numerous articles and from hearing actual interviews) that Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland wasn’t filmed with the explicit intention of being a 3D film, but was converted afterwards with new technology. I have seen it in 3D twice and love the film, but not necessarily due to the 3D. I will probably see Dawn Treader once in 3D and once in 2D. I just want to see it on the screen and for it to be very successful! (P.S. I have seen Avatar in 3D and found the 3D /effects to be amazing, but I am not a fan of the movie. Do NOT understand what the hype and success is all about. Boring, cold, too long for me…however, each to his own taste.)

  • HighQueenofNarnia says:

I think that I will watch it in 2D first, so I get the overall feel of the movie without getting freaked out; but I will definitely watch it in 3D as well. THAT will be cool.

    • HighQueenofNarnia says:

I wonder if they’re releasing the DVD in 3D as well? Obviously 2D, but wouldn’t that be cool? (You know, I don’t even know if that is possible, but I can dream, can’t I?)

      • MP_in_Narnia says:

That would be cool, HightQueenofNarnia! When Spy Kids 3 was released on DVD, there were 2D AND 3D versions of the film included in one case along with the "old" kind of 3D glasses (with red and blue lenses). The quality of the "home" 3D for Spy Kids was not that great… but 3D has come a long way since then… :) It would be super cool to have a good quality 3D DVD of Dawn Treader!!! :D

      • narniafan4ever ♥ says:

Ya, they did the same thing with that Christmas movie about the train….the Polar Express…it’s pretty cool!

      • Omac the centaur says:

  • Mangolite says:

It’ll be interesting to see the 3D conversion from the 2D original. If the 3D became available at the local plex, I will definitely go for it.

PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST 3D- don’t pout, 2D is still the norm until 3D no longer required glasses.

  • Rilian says:

I’ll see it in both, though if it’s originally done in 2D I’ll prefer it in 2D most likely, though I prefer Avatar in 3D.

  • narnia fan 7 says:

I most likely won’t see it in 3D.

  • Ana says:

will it also be in regular 2D format? I really don’t want to see it in 3D or buy it in 3D. I may have to pass on this and I will be VERY VERY disappointed if that happens. Are you SURE this is not just an early April Fools Day joke? Please?!

    • Ana says:

Ah, I see I didn’t read far enough! I’m SO glad it will also be in 2D! Now I can relax and enjoy the rest of my evening!

  • Lutra's Pearl says:

I will be going to see it in 2D for sure, not sure if I will se it in 3D though. Most 3D movies I have seen/heard of are kind of cheesy. But I will not be prejudiced, just have to wait. Keep the story of Aslan alive!!!

  • lucyrocks17 says:

I’m not so sure about this!

  • Omac the centaur says:

haw do u get pictures on ur name? I REEEAAALLY want 2 no!

    • NarnianElf says:

You have to sign up on Avatar.com. I would’ve done it, but it required an email address and I don’t have my own email yet. I could’ve used my parents, but I’d rather not go giving it out :D

  • Kris says:

Well I for one am STOKED!! I love 3D movies and that will make this one so much better! I can hardly contain myself!

  • Mangolite says:

Wow. I am shockingly surprised at how many people have very little knowledge of how 3D works. Some are still disdainfully lived in the past with the red/cyan analog glasses. Today’s 3D had advanced to where circular polarization of the glasses create a true 3D experience with the full rich color palette. For true 3D like James Cameron’s AVATAR which were filmed with a pair of lenses/cameras to simulate the stereoscopic vision of our natural pair of eyes, it gave a truly depth of 3D fields. While films that were original shot with a single lens or camera, today’s pixel shifting technology are capable of juxtaposing individual elements to match our left and right eye to create the 3D effect like Tim Burton’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND 3D. There are other techniques to create 3D but these two are of the highest quality professionally used. I am on YouTube and had created 3D videos with a pair of inexpensive Kodak HD camcorder. With the YouTube 3D tag, you can view the 3D in it’s current available methods. I preferred the cross-eyed method where the left and right image are placed in vice versa so when you looked at the image/video, your eyes must be crossed to create a third image in the center which is 3D without using any extra tool such as a pair of 3D glasses- active or passive.

3D in theaters still required the glasses, but just think of it as a cool pair of shades that you like to impress the person next you, even when he/she has one. It would be interesting that in the near future, the movie theater actually have a lenticular like screen with two/single projector that layers the different images together and as we watch it, with the slightest movement of ourselves, the 3D effect is very noticeable without the use of glasses.

Let’s say I’m not a camera person… AT ALL. But that is awesome! Good news, too, I guess.

      • Omac the centaur says:

NarnianElf, i came across one of ur comments that said u were from Lothlorien. is that in Narnia?

      • NarnianElf says:

No, it’s in Middle Earth. Where Galadriel lives :D I don’t actually live there of course but I wish I did!

      • Omac the centaur says:

ah, lord of the rings. i have actually never read of seen them :( but want two first chance i get. :)

      • NarnianElf says:

You won’t be disappointed when you see them! They are some of the only movies that can really make me emotional every time I see them, they’re that good. It’s kinda embarrassing though. :D

      • Omac the centaur says:

haha well i doubt id get emotional but im sure it’ll be good. :) :P XD ::D :( :D (i like faces)

  • true-narnian_queen says:

awesome!!!! i cant wait to see it!!! this movie can not come out soon enough!

  • Narniafan says:

Really? I saw UP and CHRISTMAS CAROL in 3-D, and it was only just decent. Oh well.

  • any... anony..... NONYA says:

ok… i hope no 1 else sed this cuz all the comments were tl;dr [2 long, so i didnt read] but i dont rlly mind if they turn the movie 2 3D so long as they dont cut out a scene 2 compensate 4 the time it takes 2 switch 2 3D….. in fact…. i dont mind wat they do so long as the dont pull a "Series of Unfortunate Events" and try 2 put more than 1 book into movie….. they seriously murdered the story by doing that!!!!! they had stuff from the 1st and 13th book in the same movie as well as stuff from in between and, if i remember rite, added stuff on the end that never happened!!!! it was AWFUL!!!!!! poor lemony snicket…. or wat ever his rl name is…. the movie ppl ruined ur marvelous books… not 2 sound freaky i hope [ i posted this @ like 2 am......]

  • NarniaLuver4Ever says:

I’m happy about this only because it will probably make more money this way. 3D is the new thing and everybody wants to see as many of them as possible-even if they wouldn’t "normally" be interested in it. All and all I think that this is a good thing for the franchise and I will probably go see it both ways.

  • Cithea says:

    YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) ) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

  • skandarLover45 says:

im kinda iffy about this. for one i want to see it regularly, and for another i want to see it in 3d. but they release it on the same day, which means i will probably have to go a 2 times. which when you think about it that’s not all that bad!

  • Cynthia says:

This just like made my month!!!! I’m sooo excited! I usually don’t like 3D movies because they are full of cheap 3D tricks, but I doubt they will do that to VDT… I will definitely see this movie in both 2D and 3D like a million times!!!!!

  • lucy12 says:

only 254 days, 3 hours and 28 minutes to go, *sigh*

  • Chloe says:

Although, this is really great in helping with the money factor, do we really want to see Narnia in 3D? I think it will take away some of the magic from the first two movies, like things won’t be as beautiful and the details won’t be as great to look at. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, I’m just considering the fact that it won’t really be the Narnia that we know and love.

    • TheScribblingScribe says:

      Exactly how I feel.

    • lucy12 says:

yeah when I first heard about it i was wondering what would be so 3d about it? like they said it wasn’t flimed for 3D, so with that how would it be any good??? But I hope with 3d they get more money though. :)

  • Bennie says:

I think it’s amazing in 3D, but I wanna see them both !!

  • ibart9 says:

3D sounds good and it probably should make more money, but im not sure they didnt cut anything good because it didnt work well or was too hard to do in 3D. Im just a little scared.

    • Omac the centaur says:

woe hadn’t thought about that! scawy O.O

    • Puddleglum says:

I think I will just wait to see it in 2D. that way I avoid the sea-sickness, and not take the chance of missing edited out.
One suggestion to all. Do not buy the first DVD that comes out. It usually does not contain as many special features, like deleted scenes.
