NRO Takes on Narnia Ordering Question
Posted November 4, 2005 9:37 am by TirianNational Review Online has taken on the difficult question of how the Chronicles should be organized. As many of you know, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was published first but thirty years after Lewis’s death the publisher changed the order so that The Magician’s Nephew appeared first in the series. Click here to read the well-written and insightful article at NationalReview.com. We also have a great discussion going on about this right now in our forum. As always, we’d also like to point you to Andrew Rilestone’s very well-written piece on the subject.

Potter gets deadly serious but the doors open up on Narnia (So who will claim the lion’s share?)” And the other reads “Magic showdown! Narnia throws open its doors but Potter gets serious in Goblet of Fire (So who will boast the biggest want?)” No word yet on which cover has sold better!

Swinton Comments on Film’s Christian Message
Posted October 27, 2005 5:54 pm by TirianFrom The UK’s Independant Online Edition: The film’s producers have employed Christian marketing groups to promote it, including Motive Marketing, the team behind Mel Gibson’s storming success with The Passion of the Christ. But Tilda Swinton who plays the White Witch, denies that it carries a Christian message. “We’re not a religious group,” Swinton tells me, “We’re film-makers. C S Lewis is a very well known writer of Christian tracts, but I think it would be an insult to him as a writer to say that The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is a religious tract … This is not a religious film, but people will project on to it what they want to.” As if that wasn’t bad enough, she adds: “Personally, I was brought up to believe it is extremely bad manners to talk about your faith.” Read the whole article here.
