NarniaWebber Coracle brings us news of a female extra in the LWW production. She spoke with a kiwi who played a female centaur with a long curly blond wig. She stood with some others watching a bird attack (the path that the CG birds would take) swooping down from the skies into the battle.

USA Today Lists LWW #4

In their article from March 4, 2005, “Five Movies to Nosh On” USA Today lists The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as #4 of the top 5 movies for this year. They also have some very complimentary things to say about it. Oh, and feel free to vote for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in the poll while you’re there.

USA Today has an excellent piece on Philip Anschutz, owner of Walden Media. Walden co-founder Cary Granat was also on Your World with Neil Cavuto on February 25, 2005 (transcript) where he mentioned The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

The Official movie website at Narnia.com is starting to get some updates. Four pieces of concept art have been posted. This isn’t anything we haven’t seen before, but we should expect to see more news on the site in the coming months.

Amy Lee to Do Title Credits?

According to British website MyLastBreath, Amy Lee (from the band Evanescence) will be doing the song/vocals for the main title of the film: In a recent Kerrang interview, Amy says she’s “doing” the song: You’re scoring a film? “It’s not a whole score, but I’m doing a song for a film of CS Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia. It’s great because it’s going to be really creepy, which was basically my only requirement. They want me to do the one theme song that comes on at the title credits and maybe incorporate that in the score, with me doing all this vocal-ambient stuff.” Is this legit? Well, she’s listed on IMDB but as we know, that’s not saying a whole lot. We’ll let you know of any developments….

Dark Horse and WETA Collectibles Partner Up

From Figures.com: New “Kong” and “Chronicles of Narnia” resin collectibles! Revealing news at Toy Fair was the announcement that Dark Horse had signed on as the exclusive distributor of upcoming product from WETA Collectibles. Collectibles will include high-end resin pieces and prints for two major 2005 motion pictures: The Chronicles of Narnia and Kong, Peter Jackson’s remake of the 1933 classic “King Kong”.

The Next Walden Movie: Hoot

Walden Media, the production company making The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, is partnering with New Line Cinema and Kennedy/Marshall to adapt the Newbery Award-honored book which has become a New York Times bestseller, “Hoot”. This story revolves around a young boy who moves to Florida where he tries to solve an ecological mystery involving endangered owls, an assortment of other unusual creatures, and group of eccentric adults.
