Evanescence's "Narnia Song" released
Back in early 2005, we received a Word on the Street about Amy Lee of the rock band Evanescence contributing a song to LWW. However, this did not happen and was later denied by the film production that the song was even considered which caused a bit of confusion. At any rate, "The Narnia Song" (officially called "Together Again") was released a day ago to help raise money for the relief effort for the recent tragedy in Haiti. This link will direct you to the donations page should you wish to contribute. It will then give you the song to download.
So, would you have liked to hear this in the end credits of LWW?
Lyrics:
Never thought that I'd be leaving you today
So alone and wondering why I feel this way
So wide the world
Can love remember how to get me home to you
Someday
We'll be together again
All just a dream in the end
We'll be together again
So many fears were swimming around and around in my mind
Who would have dreamed the secrets we would find
I've found a world where love and dreams and darkness all collide
Maybe this time we can leave our broken world behind
We'll be together again
All just a dream in the end
------

Wow this is very interesting Skilletdude. I myself never heard of this piece of news, but this is indeed very interesting. I listened to the song, and to me I think is sounds more like a last battle song. Taken to the lyrics, and the tone of the song. I don't think it really would have fit LWW as well, due to the nature of it. But it is a lovely song.
But, I see a few points it may fit LWW, like when she sings 'We'll be together again.' That could be when Aslan's is killed, but comes back. They'll be together again. Or when also when she says 'So many fears were swimming around and around in my mind.' this could also corospond with Aslan dieing, and Lucy and Susan's despair when they saw it.
Who would have dreamed the secrets we would find
Again this was very interesting.

The song is beautiful, but it doesn't really feel like an LWW song. I think it would fit PC or LB more than LWW. Although I think it sounds like it's from Susan's POV, about how she denies Narnia's existence and says it's "all just a dream in the end." So perhaps it's more of a character song than one that fits one single book/movie.
Tonight’s the night for the sinners and the saints. Two worlds collide in a beautiful display. It’s all up tonight. When we step across the line, we can sail across the sea to a city with one king, a city on our knees.

Interesting. I do not think this song belongs in the end credits of LWW.
"Maybe this time we can leave our broken world behind"
"This time" sounds as if they'd been to Narnia before, making it more appropriate for PC, in my opinion. And the general feeling of the song is sadness (to me), also making it more PC-appropriate. In fact, it reminds me of The Call;
"Can love remember how to get me home to you"
("I'll come back when you call me")
"We'll be together again"
("No need to say goodbye")
"I've found a world where love and dreams and darkness all collide"
(The Call evokes the same feelings using these words: Friends, memories, battle cry, war.)

i haven't heard it yet but like adeona said, reading the lyrics, it sounds very similar to the call...which i didn't exactly love...

I remember hearing about this song. It's much better than most of the songs in the movie credits but I'm not sure it suits the Narnia movies. Fairly low key but a very nice song all the same. Pity Evanescence are said and done now (or am I wrong about this?).

Just to let everybody know, I removed the link to the video on YouTube as I'm quite sure it's not legal. If you want to hear the song, please donate $5 to the Haiti relief efforts.

Re: Evanescence's "Narnia Song" released
I don't think I would have liked it for LWW, although I like the lyrics better than any of the songs they had. If it had been brought back, I think I would prefer it over "The Call".
I especially think this bit describes Lucy very well at the end of PC.
This part makes me think of Jill in LB. Actually, I think it suits LB best, and I think I would like to hear it there.

Re: Evanescence's "Narnia Song" released
I don't think it would've worked at the end of LWW, very possibly at the beginning when they are being sent to the countryside. If it had been different lyrics, I think it would have worked well at the end, or perhaps different music. The two together, while a pretty song, is not quite right for LWW. I agree, better for something like PC.
and Warrior 4 Jesus, Evanescence is still together, and recording a new album next month.

I listened to the song on youtube (yes, probably an illegal copy) and it was just beautiful!
Great song, though I believe it is best suited for LB more then LWW!

Re: Evanescence's "Narnia Song" released
I love Evanescence and I really like this song. I remember hearing a mention of a possibility that Evanescence would do a song for LWW and I had always wondered what happened to that. Glad to know that the song is available now.
I agree that it doesn't have an end feel to LWW, but I can still see it fitting throuhgout the story. To me, it seems like a character based song for Susan at the start of the story and her disbelief in Narnia. The first part of the song seems to match to the leaving of London and that as a family, they would one day all be together again. The second part with "so many fears" gives me the sense of when Edmund leaves the other three and how Susan might feel that even in Narnia, the family is still separated and how she wants them to still "be together again". Then the last portion would be the realization of how the world of Narnia is full of danger and there is a darkness that rules. "Leaving the broken world behind" could be a reference to the WW2 world, having set everything right in Narnia and now living there as kings and queens. I don't really see the connection with PC, but I can see it as having a match up to the story of LB.
I much prefer this song to a lot of the other end songs that are on both the LWW and PC soundtracks, but I can see why it was not chosen in the end.

it's a very good song, but I don't really think that it sounds like Narnia.....or at least it doesn't sound like VotDT to me......

I like the sound of it. Maybe not for LWW, but it might have worked with PC.
Um, why would it sound like VDT to you?

Re: Evanescence's "Narnia Song" released
Well... It's better than "Winter Light."
I like "Together Again," although it seems a bit dark for a children's movie.
At first glance it doesn't seem to have much to do with Narnia.
At second glance it seems to say that Narnia is a dream land, which is something that I highly object to. Narnia isn't Wonderland. The cool thing about Lewis's writing is that he made Narnia so believable. But maybe it is supposed to be metaphorical.
At third glance I see that it could be interpreted the other way around, -that England and WWII may be just a dream in the end, which is much more interesting, and obviously metaphorical. I'm not quite sure what the writer of this song intended, but then again, I still don't understand "Wunderkind," (mostly since I keep finding differing lyrics for the song on the internet. Does anyone know where I can find an "official" copy of the Wunderkind lyrics?).
After downloading "Together Again" I was inspired to finally listen to "In Like A Lion" by Relient K, which was written in hopes that it would be included on the "Inspired by LWW" CD. I was quite impressed by that song as well.
I can't wait to add these songs to my Narnia Playlist!

Yes, I would totally love to hear an Evanescence song in the credits.
