NarniaWeb Movie Commentary: “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”

Listen to our audio commentary for Disney/Walden’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. A decade after its release, NarniaWeb podcasters discuss the film scene by scene and reminisce about the months leading up to its theatrical release.

To follow along, simply synchronize the timecode of your movie with the timecode of the commentary below.

If you are watching a DVD purchased outside North America, it is probably in PAL format and will not sync up with this commentary. A PAL version is in the works (the link will be posted here once it is uploaded).

  • About: I’ve loved the Narnian chronicles since my father first read them to me when I was around seven. The stories of bravery, chivalry and honour made an enormous impact on my life. Since then, I had hoped against hope that someone would adapt the entire series to film. I first heard rumors back in 2002 that someone had acquired the rights and was planning to begin production within the next couple of years. I found NarniaWeb in 2003 and joined in August 2004 starting up a podcast and eventually a video blog. Outside of Narnia, I enjoy books and cinema, and historical fencing.

  • About: I read The Chronicles of Narnia for the first time when I was fifteen years old and I was instantly hooked. I joined NarniaWeb.com soon after and became wrapped up in all things Narnia, eventually leading to me becoming a forum moderator and webmaster of my own Narnia fan site, www.Spareoom.net. I have been contributing to the NarniaWeb Podcast since 2007 and am so happy to still be doing that even after so many years! Currently, I am working as an English teacher in Taitung, Taiwan while pursuing my Business degree.

  • About: My grandfather taught a college course called “The Oxford Mythmakers” and wrote Bright Shadow of Reality: Spiritual Longing in C.S. Lewis. So, Narnia has always been in my life. I became a fanatic in my early teens and the books had a significant influence on my life. When a theatrical film adaptation was announced, I felt excited… but also protective. NarniaWeb became my primary method of keeping tabs on the filmmakers’ progress and eventually I was asked to join the news staff. I am currently working as a video producer for an academic health center (and still post the ocasional Narnia video on my channel).
