New ‘Dawn Treader’ Trailer Online

The DVD release of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” includes a short new trailer for “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.” You can now watch a low-quality version of it on YouTube. The video is very poor, but the audio is excellent. Watch it below:

UPDATE: NarniaFans has posted a better-quality version (the aspect ratio is a bit off, making everything look tall and stretched, but the color looks much better):

And, here are good-quality screen captures of the new/updated shots:

oh i totally agree with you! but reep's horrible new voice is only one of the MANY awful things about this next narnia movie! bring back the director of the first two movies.

  2. Bookwyrm says:

Horrible new voice? Seriously? I went back and listened to the two versions of the line one after the other and the only difference is the first is a little deeper. Could you tone the drama down a little? There are a lot worse things in this movie than a single voice actor.

And bring Adamson back? Are you freaking kidding? After he screwed up PC in epic fashion? Why not just get M. Night Shyamalan to direct the franchise so you can get arrogant commentary on the film being better than the book along with contempt for the book's storyline.

Don't know really what to think. 'Think of the lost souls we are trying to save.' Give me a break. My hopes for this movie are very low indeed, but I'm still going to go see it…

i hope the film meets my expectations, but the trailer didn't really help.first of all they barely mention or even emphasize the lost lords which is a main problem in the story. and it didn't really showcase the scenes that made the book out of this world like if anything i thought they would at least have a scene of eustace being a dragon. if ur a huge narnia fan like me of course regardless of how bad the trailer is you need to see it just cuz we're obsessed fans just like how alot of ppl are obsessed with twilight or harry potter. but if i was never a fan or if i never read the books, the trailer would've never moved me and i would prob not watch it just cuz the plot of the movie seems weak but of course i just love narnia so im obligated to see it lol. and guys please don't think im a hater i love narnia i just pointed these things out cuz thats how disappointed i am i just want the movie to stand out from the last 2 films and hopefully it will and hopefully it'll make me take back what i said. anyways im still excited to see it. and omg no matter what im always gonna love SKANDAR KEYNES hes so cute!!!

    Huh…I hadn't thought of that…

Maybe it is supposed to be a dream-like good-bye to the four of them, and the thrones are to show what they were leaving behind…?

  7. aslan1980 says:

To be fair even Eddie Izzard could have done a better job at voicing Reepicheep this time around. The voice on the first trailer is far more appropriate to the ridiculous one Simon Pegg has come up with.

  8. Narnian Geek says:

What if the Pevensies are Caspian's nightmare( I hope not)? In his nightmare, they're coming back to take over. Just a thought.

  9. Narnian Geek says:

My mom says that they're replacing the spying with magic scene with this magic because it's shorter and more visual. More time for action!

  10. aslan1980 says:

Simon Pegg is completely awful as Reepicheep’s voice.

Cool!! glad to see another trailer…
As for the whole Susan and Peter thing, I'm not worried. When PC trailer came out, I panicked over the white witch being in it, but they made it work in the movie… they will probably work it out in VDT as well. Until I see the movie, I don't want to be too critical. This is my 2nd favorite book in the series, and so far the trailers look like I won't be disappointed.
also, as I remember it (I read this book several years ago), Caspian DOES sail to the end of the world, but he comes back, marries Ramandu's daughter, and the whole Silver Chair thing happens… that's what I remember…
p.s. I think they are avoiding the dragon scenes for the trailer for people who haven't read the books… keep it a surprise, you know?
movies always have to be a little different, but LWW and PC were AWESOME!!! so I'm excited =)

I'm pretty sure this IS referring to the Seven Lords; 'souls' is often a temm used in the maritime for people: a ship would be capeable of holding 300 souls, per se.

  14. i saved the new trailer pictures but can't get through bsafe.sorry i will tried to look it up on Godtube

  15. Mike, I am well versed with the Narnia book series, and VDT in particular is my favorite(I have had to get a new copy of the book because the binding fell apart on my old one). But if you want a film to be successful and aim it towards an older audience, then there has to be action. If Fox and Walden are aiming towards the younger, then that's fine. I'm just saying if you want to retain the attention of the older, there has to be some action.

  16. Joseph_C says:

Perhaps flashbacks to the Prince Caspian movie? The colors look battleish….

  17. Reepicheep says:

yeah, I think he's not 100% done computerizing but they put it in the new trailer anyway.

  18. Gabriel says:

It is nice to hear Caspian talking without a Spanish accent. He didn't do a whole lot of talking in PC and it would really get in the way of the dialogue in VDT, which has one of my favorite dialogue pieces with Gumpas. And I could not possibly imagine it geing done with Spanish accents. Good quote "Be strong, think of the lost souls we are here to save. Think of Narnia, think of Aslan.

  19. Bethany says:

I hope it's just a dream or a flashback. It doesn't make any sense for Peter or Susan to be in any Narnian scenes in this movie… Of course, it would make perfect sense for Lucy to be dreaming at the beginning about the time when they used to rule Narnia, before the painting starts moving. It would also make sense if, seeing that Edmund tried to join the military in the other trailer, Lucy was empathizing and saying that she understood that he wanted to go back and be kings and queens again, but they couldn't.

  20. Bethany says:

Maybe they took Lucy's comment to Aslan in PC too literally, the one in which she says that he looks bigger than he used to be? Maybe they think that he really does change every time they see him…?

  21. Bethany says:

I'm glad they named her. It was really awkward having to call her "The Star's Daughter" before they named her… and before I actually knew that name 🙂

  22. Bethany says:

I bet they had fun with the ACTUAL ROMANCE written into the book this time, instead of having to make up a random romantic storyline.
