Narnia Producer Perry Moore Found Dead

It is with great sadness that we report the news today that Narnia producer Perry Moore has died. He was found unconscious on Thursday morning from an apparent overdose and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter by paramedics.

Perry Moore was a producer on the Narnia films and especially involved with the production of the The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He was the author of the official movie companion. Since working on the Narnia films, he wrote and directed Lake City and authored a book ‘Hero’.

On a personal note, I’ve met Perry Moore several times and knew him as a fantastic human being: incredibly kind and thoughtful. He will be missed. Please join NarniaWeb as we offer our condolences to his family.

Obviously authorities are still looking into this for sure, but initial reports imply that this was not a suicide, but rather an accidental overdose.

  21. Oh dear. This is so terrible. I wonder if he knew the Lord. Oh no. I'm so sad now. I have his book "The Official Movie Companion". It's one of my favourite Narnia books that I have. He wrote so well–many of the parts made me cry some because I felt like I really got to know the "Pevensie" kids by the way he descibed everything. And now he's gone, just like that. You wouldn't know, by reading that wonderful book that he was taking drugs or in depression or anything. Oh my. This is truly sad. I think I'm going to cry.

  22. Serenia says:

This is very sad. When I read Perry's official movie companion for LWW, I enjoyed his writing style; I felt like I could hear his voice and detect his sense of humor in my head. He really loved Lewis' story and fought for LWW to be adapted faithfully. He enjoyed the entire process and seemed to genuinely care for everyone involved, especially Adamson and the children. My condolences to his family.

  23. Narniafan10000 says:

Who's gonna take over the production?!?!?!?!?!?!

  37. Starlily says:

This news is so awful! I have the Movie Companion too, and I really appreciated Perry Moore's writing. We owe him for getting the Narnia franchise going. I'm assuming the overdose was an accident, but what a terrible end for him anyway. I don't know much about him, but I'm sure he was a great guy, and I'm so sad we've lost him. His poor family. All we can do is pray for them…

  38. Weapon Master says:

I love the companion he wrote, and when I first saw this I was like "What!?".

Goodbye Perry, and I hope you felt no pain in your last moments, whatever happened.

First things first, NarniaFan10000, they'll figure something out, I'm sure. Right now, i think everyone is just in shock and, of course, mourning his death.

  40. Galadrielle says:

I feel sorry for myself because we won't see Perry's loving touch on Silver Chair or any other subsequent movies, yet for him, in Jack's words in The Last Battle, "The term is over. The holidays have begun!" May he rejoice merrily in Aslan's Country with the ever blessed C.S. Lewis and all the saints.
