RUMOR: Millie Bobby Brown From Stranger Things Offered Role of Jill Pole in The Silver Chair?

The first casting rumor for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair is making the rounds. ThatHashtagShow claims to have the inside scoop that Millie Bobby Brown was offered the role of Jill Pole earlier this year.

Currently, this is an unconfirmed RUMOR.

And even if she was offered the role, it is possible she turned it down and the production has long since moved on. This story, even if true, might be irrelevant at this point. NarniaWeb is investigating.

The 13-year-old is best know for playing Eleven, a girl of few words, in the Netflix original series Stranger Things, which just released its second season. Here is an interview with Millie from last week.

This is certainly not the first unconfirmed report about Narnia casting. Perhaps most famously, in 2004 it was rumored that Nicole Kidman would play the White Witch in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Of course, this turned out to be false.

Thanks to Joseph Simmonds and everyone else who sent in spy reports about this.

    Very exciting possibility!

Millie would bring a lot of interest and excitement to the film! Not to mention that she is a tremendous, young actress. Talent is talent!

If true I think she'd be a good choice for Jill. But I guess we'll wait and see if there's any truth to this. With rumors like this you can never tell.

  3. HPofNARNIA says:

I've only seen her in the Show 'Once Upon a Time in Wonderland' she was only in two episodes and the second time she appeared was brilliant, she did an outstanding performance there. So if she does get cast, maybe she'll be great as Jill. Camilla Power also did a great as Jill in BBC and she looks exactly how I imagined her to b. I'm not even joking when I first saw her, she looked like she just stepped out of my imagination, even her England clothes look exactly how I imagined them.

Interesting rumor. This could be why they are pushing back filming to fall/winter 2018. Millie is supposed to start filming the 3rd season of Stranger Things in early 2018 and it takes about 6-7 months. So they would have to accommodate her schedule, and I think they would do anything to get her at this point. We'll see though.

  5. NarnianQueen says:

I really hope that this is true. I was honestly really nervous when it was announced that they would be doing a reboot of the series. But if she were to take the role, she could honestly save this franchise. I love Millie and she is a brilliant actress. Hoping for the best.

  6. High king Peter says:

If this rumor was true, that would be great! Her acting performance in Stranger things series was just amazing. Hope its not fake

  7. Lord Argoz says:

This seems to suggest that, unlike the previous films where they used relatively unknown actors for the main roles, they are looking for more famous ones for this film. I suppose this makes sense, it would certainly attract a lot more viewers to a film that I am sure the distributors are very worried might be a flop, based on the series' less-than-perfect money-making record to date.

  8. Just Queen, not High Queen says:

This would be so awesome if it were true, but filming would probably conflict with Stranger Things Season 3.

  9. Eustace says:

If this is true, I am all for it, anything to boost up the popularity of Narnia without changing the plot or the characters. But, even if this rumor is untrue I will keep my expectations high.

  10. Aslan#1Fan says:

I would be super excited if she were cast as Jill. She is expressive and passionate enough to become the best actor in series yet!

  11. twinimage says:

If this became fact, that would be amazing. She's a fantastic young actress. I'd feel so much better about the movie if she were cast as Jill.

  12. Fireberry says:

An excellent choice, and on reflection, the obvious & ideal one. We'll trust NarniaWeb to keep us posted as to whether it's fact or fiction.

  13. TheeNarnianMeerkat says:

Lol!! X’D I *just* sent a spy report about this…

  14. Reepicheep says:

I think it would be great if they start getting a cast real soon. I am real interested to know who will be in the movie. I know it's just a rumor but if they get the cast together real soon it would be great.

  15. DeepMagic says:

Yes!! This is the most exciting news yet!

  16. Gandalf the Grey says:

She does look like Jill Pole.

  17. Cleander says:

I'm not too familiar with this actress. Do you think she's in a position where she can take her pick of offers? I was just thinking that if she's well known enough she might not accept this offer (IF she really got it ) if she had a better one from someone else. What does everyone else think?

  18. Cleander says:

    Sorry if that sounds ignorant.

  19. JFG says:

MilBoBro could definitely pass as JP, even though the actress would be 4-5 years older than the character in the book when filming begins.

  20. JFG says:

MilBoBro is a great actress, but she may already be too old for the part of Jill …Which really stinks… Over the years, I've kept hoping that they [director Joe Johnston] will cast & film two wonderfully talented & unknown 10-year-olds as Eustace and Jill for 'The Silver Chair', so that when 'The Last Battle' is filmed 3 movies later, the young actors will be 16 years old, like in the books [the Lewis Narnia timeline]. I'm tired of movie adaptations casting adults in the roles of children (ex. Caspian, Alice, The Giver). But I understand that the producers (including Gresham) may want experienced child/teen actors for the roles in THIS film, because a lot is riding on the success of this movie. Johnston DID say he was going to try to be 'faithful to the spirit of C.S. Lewis' but also that he was going to make the 'most commercial version of the book possible'. So if the wonderful Millie Brown is cast as Jill [which would be exciting to say the least], she'll be 14-17 when the movie is released and will likely be 20-25 when 'The Last Battle' premiers. (Sigh) "Look on the bright side. Try to make the best of it. Even if it does rain."

  21. Reepicheep says:

Well Will Poulter was 16 when he did Eustace in "Voyage of the Dawn Treader". Maybe she will be able to do Jill Pole and when I don't know if they would de a "Last Battle" for several reasons.

  22. Reepicheep says:

I'm not to familiar with this actress either. It was just a rumor doesn't mean it's true. If she is a popular actress I have know idea if she would do it or not.

  23. Anhun says:

Will was unusually underdeveloped for his age. He was able to pass for a tween, even though most 16-year-olds would not.

I think MBB could pass for an appropriate age for Jill right now with the right styling, but at 13, she could easily outgrow that in a year. I hope they wait until closer to filming to get casting for Eustace and Jill nailed down, either that or they should err on the young side.

  24. Leorio says:

    I suggest Ruby Barnhill.

  25. Sansa says:

I like MBB for the part, she's pretty good in Stranger Things and obviously on the rise as a star. I would be okay with her as Jill, but she's gong to be pretty busy for the foreseeable future, so I wouldn't bet her being our Jill.

I also like Bella Ramsay (Lyanna Mormont) for the part.

  26. Leorio says:

I accept Millie as Jill Pole, but Bella Ramsey…. I don't think she look like Jill. 😛

  27. Leorio says:

    Just an opinion anyway. ^^

  28. Gandalf the Grey says:

No, not Bella Ramsay, she doesn't fit the Jill's physique and emotional trait. No, absolutely not.

  29. JFG says:

Casting all depends on how young/old the filmmakers want the children in the 'Silver Chair' film to be. Jill and Eustace were 9-12 years old (3rd-6th grade) in the book. But I can see the filmmakers wanting to make them 13-16 years old (7th-10th grade) in the film.

  30. milmolsilsol says:

She'd be a perfect Jill. I love that girl. 🙂
