Millie Bobby Brown Was Reading The Chronicles of Narnia

In November 2016, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown told fans at RICC she was in the middle of reading The Chronicles of Narnia. Several months later, a rumor hit the web that she had been offered a role in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair. Coincidence? View the video here (13:04).

This brief comment would seem to make the rumor feel a little more credible. It is possible (but still not confirmed) that Brown was indeed offered the role of Jill. ThatHashtagShow reported the offer was made “earlier” in 2017. But if that is true, there is still another question: Did she accept it?

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair is currently scheduled to begin production later this year with Director Joe Johnston at the helm. Millie Bobby Brown will soon appear in and produce an adaptation of the Enola Holmes series.

Thanks to ‘Roger’ for the alert.

  1. I wonder when casting will actually start for Silver Chair? I'd imagine that there will be other people besides Millie Bobbie Brown who might be interested in playing Jill.

It’s great that Narnia Webbers seem to love the idea of Millie Bobby Brown playing Jill Pole in The Silver Chair Film. It’s a popular idea;I like Millie, so I’d be extatic if it were actually true. I just hope the movie is a great movie and a worthy adaptation of the book. Then popularity will follow, I guess…

Like Narnia itself, you can’t please everyone, but anyone can find meaning and joy in its mysteries.

Probably by March or April, we'll hear some tidbits. If Johnston intends to film prep this summer, my guess is that he would probably have his main cast already assembled by then. Now, whether they decide to release the casting news right away is another matter.

I’ll be a little disappointed if she doesn’t get to play Jill. I think she would’ve been a good choice to play her.
I loved Camilla Power’s betrayal in the BBC adaptation, she looks exactly how I pictured her, and plus, when I think of Jill, I kinda think of Emma Watson and she and Camilla have the same face.

Curse you, Roger! I was looking forward to getting a free blimp! 😛

All the same, Millie kind of comes across as weird in those clips. One thing about Jill is that she's ultra-relatable. She has no special abilities. When the going gets tough, she whines, like any normal child. I thought Camilla Power hit just the right note, even though her acting overall is not as good as MBB. Camilla was able to embody that everygirl character. They should find someone who can do that. And no, just because an actor is phenomenal at playing weird parts, doesn't mean that it will translate to other types of roles. She might not be able to "ordinary" her way out of a paper bag.

I too would be disappointed if she couldn’t play Jill, but not because she looks like how I pictured her. Millie Bobby Brown seems to possess a warmth and charisma that would help audiences connect to the lonely, prickly Jill – something Camilla Powers kinda lacked. Maybe it was the 2-demensional script for the BBC version, but Jill and Eustace as characters felt like cardboard cutouts in that TV movie, and, did not feel like real kids with nuance. I hope Millie is fast…Just my opinion. 🙂

Hope Millie is CAST – not FAST ;(

Get Her out of The Silver Chair please do not cast her as Jill in this new film please Andi Horton is better.

Replace and Get Ride of Millie Bobby Brown out of Narnia and Let let Andi Horton play Jill Pole.

i do like her and she is a very good actress but i don't mean to say that about her but you see i'm 25 now so she's too young for me Andi Horton is 24.
