Live Q&A with Douglas Gresham on Monday

Douglas Gresham (stepson of C. S. Lewis) will be speaking in Greenville, SC on Monday at approximately 7:00pm EST. Online viewers will be able to submit questions. This is an exclusive event for The Logos Theatre donors.

Viewers will also witness the unveiling of the Bree and Hwin puppets that will be used in The Horse and His Boy stage play, which premieres March 1.

How to participate:

  • Donate $50 or more to The Logos Theatre’s stage production of The Horse and His Boy. (The premiere is next Friday, but they are still thousands of dollars short of their goal)
  • Be sure to provide your real e-mail address.
  • Click the livestream link, which will be sent via e-mail at approximately 6:30pm EST.
  • Submit questions to Mr. Gresham!

This event will come days before a historic moment for Narnia: The first appearance of The Horse and His Boy on a professional stage in the United States. Douglas Gresham and many NarniaWebbers will be attending the premiere. Get tickets.

UPDATE: The event has ended.

Looks like a fun event. I do think it's a little funny that they mention Douglas Gresham as the last living person to have known C.S. Lewis personally. How could they possibly know that? 😛

  2. Cleander says:

Good question!(How COULD they know that?) There are probably some former students of his sitting in the UK right now feeling a trifle put out by that!
I think Gresham should perhaps clarify that he's the last living person that LIVED with C.S. Lewis.

I also thought that Walter Hooper moved into the Kilns before Lewis died, but maybe not.

  4. COR says:

Mr Gresham actually speaks of himself as the last person who knew Jack Lewis personally. They met when he was a young boy, and after Lewis married Doug's mother Joy, Doug became his stepson. They were close for the rest of Jack's life.
Mr Hooper stayed with Jack for a few weeks in the last few weeks of his life, so he got to know him but not in the same way.

Oops, that should say coracle, not COR.
Of course there are also former students who did know Lewis personally (i.e. had met him themselves in person), but Mr Gresham is the last person alive who knew him really closely, shared his home and talked with him regularly.

Is anyone else still waiting on their email? Even with the delay I should have it by now right?

  7. Glumpuddle says:

No, expect the link around 6:30pm EST now.
