Will Poulter Cast in Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings Series
Will Poulter, who played Eustace in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, has been cast in Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings prequel series. According to Variety, he has a “lead role.” Amazon has not revealed any details about Poulter’s character.
Little is known about the storyline of the series except that it will take place in the Second Age of Middle-Earth. A release date has not been announced.
Poulter is now 26 years old. This past Summer, he appeared in Midsommer, a folk horror film.

Will Poulter was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing VoDT adaptation. The fact that his career has gone from strength-to-strength off the back of that stellar performance is very much well deserved.
It’s ironic though that he went from being in a Narnia movie to being in a series that will probably be a competitor to the new Narnia series!

No, it details the First and Second Ages, and only part of the Third Age (20 pages out of 365 pages). Hope that that helps.

I think that Will Poulter will do an amazing job at this; ‘lead role’ whatever it is. Though I do have to say it is funny that he switched from Narnia, to Lord of the Rings. Congrats to Will!
… Also, it’s hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that he’s 26. I feel old. 😛

This gives me the smallest glimmer of hope for this series. (Then again, I remember feeling the same about the casting announcements for the Hobbit films… Oh well.)

And I see there’s a news item online that says Auckland is confirmed as the filming base! That’s the city where The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe was filmed.
