“Game of Thrones” Prequel Series with Georgie Henley Cancelled

The much anticipated Game of Thrones prequel featuring Naomi Watts and Narnia’s own Georgie Henley (Lucy Pevensie) has reportedly been cancelled. According to Deadline, HBO turned down the option to the series after viewing the filmed pilot.

You can follow Georgie on Instagram and Twitter. You will notice that she retweeted a Narnia post on Narnia Day (October 16).

I don’t think there is too much interest in these prequels anyway but it’s a shame she won’t be getting the chance to increase her profile as an actress. Out of all the child actors, I’d say she was the best. Maybe they can give her a cameo in the new Netflix series? Have her and the other kids reprise their roles as the adult versions of The Pevensies at the end of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Hell, they could do the same for A Horse and His Boy.

Georgie is currently busy filming The Spanish Princess, playing “Meg”, the sister of Henry VIII. This is another of the Philippa Gregory books, which feature strong female characters in the Plantagenet to Tudor periods of English history. No doubt there will be more offers after this one.

I’m so down, she needs to have a cameo in the Netflix series of some kind!
Maybe even a recurring role (a la Warwick Davis).

If they did cast her as ‘adult Lucy’ she could have a recurring role in The Horse and His Boy. I’d be down for that. Outside of that maybe she could play the star in The Dawn Treader?Or The White Witch, if only just to see the reactions of long time fans.

After all the responses to the final season of Game of Thrones, I’m not surprised. Heck, even Honest Trailers expressed disinterest. https://youtu.be/GFefgQ61Vjg?t=336

Yeah… I know some fans liked the last season, but if YouTube comment sections are reputable representations of the average fan, everyone’s kinda done with GoT.

Funny thing is, I was interested in watching the show (I figured I could forward through the uncomfortable scenes) but I have no desire to now that I know it ends so poorly.

Glorious news! Thanks for the report!

And now she’s on Twitter saying weird things about Mr. Tumnus…

While this prequel to GoT has been cancelled, HBO did pick up another GoT prequel straight to series. There will be more GoT still…

I still remember watching Georgie Henley for the first time in Narnia. What an adorable child actress with great acting chops. Now days she writes from a strange angle and brings up Narnia in NSFW type of ways. Can’t say Lewis would be pleased. If Netflix Narnia ever does come out, I hope we can find actors that understand the core of the story and don’t undermine it via social media.
