Huge congratulations on your anniversary, Rya! I don't know what NW would be without you.
Also, that's a delicious-looking cake, Jo.

Yay!! Conga rats!! You're doing well - keep it up!

Re: Conga-Rats!
The end of an Age, the start of a new one
In the First Age, NarniaWeb was new, exciting and finding its way. The early members delighted in the friendly, kind and supportive feeling that the discussion forums had taken on, and we decided to make it a rule – no unpleasant behaviour, no disrespect to members, to the books, to the film makers (still in pre-production), or to C.S.Lewis.
As news of the movie development spread worldwide, numbers grew rapidly, although not everyone stayed for long (how many single-post members did we count?). We saw ourselves as the Leading Fan-based Website for Narnia Movie News. Perhaps we could become as well known and trusted as The One Ring Net. The moderator team grew, we restructured our subforums from time to time, and we were thrilled with the contacts we were able to make in the production. Among the spies who sent in stories was someone who had taught at Georgie’s school, and corrected a report about where each of the children came from.
I had a wonderful time in the good old days of the early forum – we were busy, there were so many new friends, new helpers, and bits of news to weed out. Being the New Zealand based moderator, I was able to video/record and transcribe interviews on TV or radio, to scan and upload newspaper items, and listen out for snippets through friends in theatre and film work. I did turn up for the Casting Call (Small and Tall), but was never called back. Sad on the one hand, as I’d love to have been involved, yet if I had worked on LWW I would not have been able to contribute to NarniaWeb in this way! I still haven’t been able to be cast, but I have not given up hoping.
Somewhere in the Second Version of NarniaWeb, I posted my 10,000th post. It was an exciting milestone. In the Second Age we continued to report, discuss, query, play, and support each other. The first two movies were out, heralded by Lion Parties (our coined word), the third came out to a mixed reception, and we waited for news of the fourth one. That was a long wait, and after the Walden contract ended we waited some more. Just as we had received a lot of information about the next movie, the Chronicles were switched to Netflix. We’re still waiting for big news. Don’t give up! It will come.
NarniaWeb has been my friend, my source of support when there were difficulties. You may remember we had thousands of earthquakes in my home city starting nine years ago, causing huge damage and disruption to lives. You were here for me. When I had changes in my workplace, my home, or my health, my immediate support was always here. After some years, meeting some members in person (individually or in groups) was a real delight.
Thank you. Whatever I have put in, I have received much more.
