That I am! I don't want to get too specific, but I'm about an hour outside of Boston.
And, you don't have AC in your home, huh? We have a window air conditioner in most of our rooms, so our house is pretty cool, but one of our cars has no AC, and that gets unbearably hot!

Ah yes, space and time travel. Always a good pursuit. Though I'm not sure what any of that has to do with a princess or a Curdie. On the other hand, I have been put aside any thoughts of space and time travel, and have been focusing on instant matter transfer.

My sister's been following the World Cup, Nick, but not I. Our TV doesn't work. *sighs* How about you?

We don't even have TV, but a lot of the World Cup games were aired online. Yes, I was following it pretty closely once it got down to the Round of 16.

NN/Aiden was asking about the World Cup. To be upfront and honest? I had no interest.

I have honestly been no fan of soccer, and still don't care much for the sport, but being a sports fanatic, I did enjoy the few games I was able to see. And it was fun to keep up with the stats. Interestingly enough, soccer and hockey are rather similar, and I have a similarly don't care much for hockey. But, I assume that you like hockey, eh?

the one we have now is from Spain and then the next one is from Japan .

Things are going really well with me, thanks! I've been doing yard work (we're trying to fix our very sloped back yard...), getting together with some friends, playing miniature golf in the rain ( ), and just hanging out around the house (among other things).

Oh how exciting! That would be so thrilling!

It is really neat! Lots of my family members want to read it now.

Thank you! Lol, that actually is NOT a stupid question. I did design a cover for it, but I wasn't able to use it because we couldn't convert it to the correct file type. I do like the one that I ended up using though.

Garbed with dreams to be a botanist, I must say that I dote on gardening. ^.^ Not that I am very good at it--this is the first year it's actually worked, but I still do like it.

Yes, it is true that a garden isn't entirely 'neat', but I do believe that I take your meaning. Well, they grow lots of things...lettuce, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, basil, green beans, various herbs, I think they've grown some watermelons too, to name a few. Did I mention that it's a big garden?
Ah, then gardening is a very good subject to talk about with you. I must confess that I am not very gifted when it comes to gardening. I haven't had much experience. I like working outside though, so maybe there's hope for me.

I'm glad you're doing well! Oh, right, you and Flam take mandolin... I frogot. Is it like a little guitar or something? I think my mom took it a while ago, but I'm not entirley sure. That's very cool, though! D'awww, your nephew and nieces sound 'dorable. What have you been reading lately?

Well, yes, it is sort of like a little guitar...here is some information about them. It's a really pretty instrument!
I've been working my way through the Lord of the Rings series, and I'm rereading some other books. Just sort of whatever I pick up. Have you been reading anything interesting lately?

What's been keeping me busy, hey? Well...we're looking after a little girl (more like my mom teaching her how to read and write and us entertaining her.) It's....uh, an interesting experience. :/ But other than that reading, crocheting, writing...

Well, well here I am again this week! It seems the Square is moving along, which is nice to see. Unfortunately, it's not very good for us slow-pokes like me who don't catch up often enough.

I hope you're all having a lovely day, because it's been dreadfully hot and humid here.

AC, having no internet is very frustrating. But if provides me with less distraction to do some other things, like reading and helping my mom around the house. My family will be leaving on a road-trip soon. I'm looking forward to visiting extended relations, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc...

Not to mention I'm turning sixteen this month!!

I'm only going to catch up on this one page---the rest will come later. Why? Because I'm lazy. It's simple.

Oh, and I'll try to PM you those pictures tomorrow. It's a bit late tonight (I stayed up until 3:00 last night, and am a bit sleepy.)

Hmm. About my eye... I had poison ivy on my arm with the cortisone cream to help stop the itching. My cousin decided to tackle me, but he got the cream all over his hand. This angered and grossed him out, and he resolved that the best solution to his problem would be to wipe it all over my face. Unfortunately, quite a bit landed in my eye. It's all right, now though; nothing serious. It burned all afternoon (and a little into the evening), but finally died away.

Aw, that's too bad about the cover. At least you found another nice one, though.

And now... to the news. The Joshua Bell concert was last night! After so many months of anticipation, it was... wonderful. All that I hoped for and expected, and more. Words can't even describe, but I can honestly say that it was one of the best evenings of my life.
So would you all like a full report? Whether you do or do not, here it is all the same.

The concert was held in Chicago, as part of the 'Ravinia Festival'. It was casual; the actual concert hall had open sides, so that people who were outside on the lawns could still hear the performance. (Tickets were sold for seating both on the lawns, as well as in the actual auditorium. My dad and I were inside, while my mom---and sister, if she had gone---were outside.)

We were about ten rows from the front.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra played the first two pieces alone, with an intermission between. The former was an adagio by Mahler, which (contrary to what I expected) was very pretty and melodious. The other, a beautiful piece by Barber (Adagio for Strings), was a slow, somewhat sad, and flowing piece. And then, at the very end, came Joshua Bell. He played one of my all-time favorite violin pieces--Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor (Op. 64). It was so amazing to actually see him... right there, in person.... I couldn't even clap when he walked out. I just stared with my mouth hanging open. And ooo-h-h-h.... I can't even describe the music. It was too beautiful for words. It was so much better hearing him in person then it ever was listening to his CDs, or watching youtube recordings. Wow.

When he finished, the entire amphitheater erupted into deafening applause. He had to return and bow four times before it finally died away (we were hoping for an encore, but I think he was too worn out.)

And then, wonder of all wonders.... I got to meet him, get a picture, two autographs, and a handshake. Incredible? Definitely.

It was all a dream come true... a very, very good day. And, now that I have a bit of my catch-up done, I'm off to bed.

I really know what you mean. I find that if I have internet available near me I tend to waste a lot of time.. and not get round to other activities that I would actually enjoy more, in the end.
How many siblings do you have? Hehe, everyone seems to have large families on Narniaweb. For me it's loud enough with just my brother and I at home.
Nice blog entry. I really identified with some parts of it - satisfaction regardless of circumstances is something I've been learning recently too. You have an awesome blog; I would never be able to make dedicated, long entries, the likes of which I've just seen.

LOL and how hyper your writing gets talking about TRS. The album's actually growing on me - I was listening to it on repeat for a good hour or two this morning, until I decided to go look up Sky Sailing. (which I think I might like much more than Owl City's sound.. less electronic ) Anyway, I really like the sound of the album as a whole, but particularly Cross My Heart, Saturday (that song would've been so good for me all last year when I was under pressure from schoolwork. lol.), That's So You, and TV Family.
Over RK? That's impressive, considering how recently you got into TRS, in comparison. Don't talk to me about play counts though.. it makes me sad , because my iPod stopped syncing my play counts to my iTunes, and now I can't check. My iPod's kinda breaking too.. and it's not even 2 years old.

There are a number of matters that need to settle in my life before I get back to the job. It could be a few months.

Things are going really well with me, thanks! I've been doing yard work (we're trying to fix our very sloped back yard...), getting together with some friends, playing miniature golf in the rain ( ), and just hanging out around the house (among other things).

poggy: awesome! I love the VotDT trailer! I honestly don't see anything wrong with WW and The Dark Island (foggy island.....?) and I love the whole thing! I think this is going to be the best Narnia movie yet? what do you think?

Wow, glad you liked it! I don't know, this trailer made me really skeptical. I'm hoping it will be the best Narnia movie yet, and I have a feeling it will be, but still...the trailer shook my opinion a bit. Overall I'm not too pleased with it and I hope they release a better one in the next months.

If you do go see it, please post your thoughts either here or in the Spare Oom's Avatar: TLA Special Feature. I'm very curious about how people who aren't familiar with the show will react to it.

I was going to go see it with some friends who are familiar with the show, but I decided not too. I didn't want to spend the money on it, and, honestly, the reviews have scared me away. I might go see it when it hits the dollar theater, though. Have you seen it?

I know a lot of people are concerned about a few things that were in the trailer. But I must say, I was really impressed with the appearance of the sea of lilies.

And if The Last Airbender trailers were any indications, a lot of those scenes may not make it into the final edit of the film.

I can understand your hesitation! Especially at the prices of movies these days. It helps that there's a local cinema that offers $5 movies most weekdays and even some weeknights.

I've actually seen it twice now, and didn't mind it so much the second time as I wasn't anticipating a good adaptation of the original. The cinematography really is quite beautiful, and the bending action, on the whole, is pretty good. There are more comments, including some reviews from people who weren't familiar with the original series, over in the Spare Oom's ATLA Special Feature. (Note that movie reviews contain spoilers).
