Hollywood’s Vintage Look for Narnia

Hidden in the foothills of central New York, Cherry Valley is about as far removed from Hollywood — geographically and culturally — as you can get in the continental United States. Compared to the Dream Factory, this Otsego County community is from another century. Thistle Hill Weavers and its owner, Rabbit Goody, have been providing authentic period clothing and fabrics to filmmakers for the better part of 15 years. Thistle Hill provided several distinct fabrics for coats, suits and costumes for “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,’’ which Disney is counting on as its big release for Christmas.
