Isis Mussenden, the costume designer for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, was awarded the Excellence in Fantasy Film award. The awards ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday night, February 25th. This was the 8th annual Costume Design Guild awards ceremony and the first to feature a separate award for excellence in fantasy film, a category that had been combined with period film.
Colleen Atwood won the Guild’s top honor for the lush hand-painted kimonos from “Memoirs of a Geisha.”
The much-anticipated Academy Awards will be held on March 5th and will be broadcast on ABC. Narnia is up for three Oscars in Makeup, Sound Mixing, & Visual Effects.
