Episode 60: Islands, Peter, and Merry Christmas!

Running time: 32:37

It’s almost Christmas, but Rilian, glumPuddle and Warrior4Jesus just cannot resist discussing the situation of the (now five) islands or even whether Peter will now appear in Voyage of the Dawn Treader. In the meanwhile, Merry Christmas to all!

Sorry guys. I mentioned my old email address in the podcast. My email is: a_jesus_warrior@yahoo.com.au

  2. Rilian says:

Don't worry Warrior. I forgot to do the impression which was requested after the last podcast: Vizzini from the Princess Bride. Oh well, next time perhaps.

Interesting News. Warrior4Jesus: That is okay. 🙂

very cool podcast. i agree with the post that said each island isn't just some land, but that they have their own feeling. i REALLY hope they don't combine deathwater and dragon island together. the deathwater scene is my fav in the book, and it wouldn't make much sense to have them both on the same island. plus, aslan shows up at bothe of those islands, and i don't think he would come to the same island twice. i am praying taht peter is put into the movie. even if he is just dropping edmund and lucy off. and, YAY! no 3D!

Please do, Rilian! I love that movie to bite-sized pieces.

Wow, I listen to the podcast very quickly after it came out again. That makes two times in a row. I loved the part at the end about the more we know the more confused we are. It's very true. Although I enjoyed the podcast, I'm now more worried than I was before. I never thought that the land where they meet Aslan at the end could be counted as an island. I really hope it wasn't included in the count because that means they could have cut one island completely and then still had seven islands to combine. Although it is an interesting idea to have Eustace change into a dragon, I've been hoping that it happens at the same place and MLG exits the ship soon after. Oh well, we will always have the BBC's VDT.

  7. Farsight the Eagle says:

Forgive me but I have yet to listen to a Narniaweb Podcast, and I tell everyone I know and meet to go listen to the Podcasts. All in all Merry Christmas to everyone! Sail on VODT.
P.S. The Production team has gotten rid of 2 of the 7 islands. That's utterly horrendous! Thank you and leave Peter & Susan out–they're not really in the Book! With all due respect.

  8. Warrior 4 Jesus says:

Patterwig's Pal, my point was that the pastures where they meet Aslan as a lamb probably couldn't be counted as an island (because the grass stretches in all directions further than they can see – except of course, the shore they arrived from). So it might be an island but it probably won't be.

Farsight the Eagle, they didn't get rid of 2 islands but combined them into 5 islands. Not nearly as bad but we're still speculating as to how they'll accomplish it.

    Great Podcast!

Interesting podcast. I think the "unfathomable Fate" may be Lucy and Edmound having to leave Narnia Forever. I think they (producers)or PC touched on LUcy being unable to fathom that Peter and Susan must leave Narnia and never return.

  11. Narniamiss says:

Mm, I never even really thought about each Island having their own distinct personality and meaning; and they really do. I do think one downside to combining some of the Islands is that you won't be able to see these "personalities" very well. Rilian, I would like to hear your "Vizzini." 😉

  12. Pattertwigs Pal says:

Oops. I must have missed the part where you said that about the land. (I always do something while I'm listening to the podcasts and there were other distractions going on while I was listening (my sister was giving a piano lesson and my cat was getting in my way)). Thanks for the clarification. I feel a little better but that the idea is out there at all still worries me.

  13. Lucille Brown says:

I love listening to the podcasts!

  14. Farsight the Eagle says:

Thanks Warrior 4 Jesus. I understand now.
Thanks again–that doesn't sound all that bad. I think?!

  15. glumPuddle says:

According to the synopsis, the "unfathomable fate" is something that Narnia has to be saved from. I don't think Edmund/Lucy's departure qualifies.

  16. glumPuddle says:

Whoops, I just realized that I list the islands twice. Sorry, there was a glitch (that was edited out), and I thought I'd have to repeat myself.

  17. Talking Rat says:

Haha! YES! Do it please! 🙂

  18. Rilian says:

My bad. Oh well. You were thorough.

  19. Trufflehunter says:

well hasn't it already been confirmed that Dragon Island will appear in the movie. I mean, we've recieved so many vidoes and such about it, right?
