James McAvoy to be a Dad

James McAvoy (Mr. Tumnus in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) and his wife Anne-Marie Duff announced today that they are expecting their first child. Congratulations to you both!

I read it that way at first as well.
Yeah, I was scared there for a moment thinking it said dead!
I was scared for a minute there as well but not because I thought it said James McAvoy dead I knew it said dad. But when I read glumPuddle post I thought that said it had meant to say dead not dad that’s why I was scared
HAHAHA. I thought the same thing too and I freaked out!!!! but then I read it again, that’s a relief. But congrats to him, wish he was my dad.

Wait- I just noticed something. It says that James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff are having a baby. If they’re married, why aren’t their last names the same?
Many women don’t change their names after marriage; it’s not a requirement. In addition, if the lady became known professionally by her maiden name – and Ms. Duff had a lot of work and award nominations prior to marrying (I personally loved "The Way We Live Now"), she will often stick with that name. I’ve even had schoolteachers who married during the school year but still went by "Miss So-and-so" until the next school year to make it easier for us as students.

Well, it’s only natural that eventually he and his wife would have a baby. Most people do have children when they’re married.

At "The Last Station" premiere last week, somebody asked McAvoy about the baby’s gender and he said, "Don’t know, don’t care." Lol! Well, I hope they have a girl.

OK I think you mean is a dad… life begins in the womb not at birth… still I’m extremely excited. I think that is awesome. Most modern actors have sex before marriage so an actor who is having a family after marriage is fantastic!
So happy for both of them. I was hoping these would happen soon because of her age, but my sister-in-law and mother-in-law had children in their early 40’s with no problems. It just seemed like their working schedules could have been a problem. God Bless both of them and their child. I just love babies they really let you see the wonder of life through new eyes. so beautiful to see 2 become 1.
