“Together Again” – The Lost Narnia Song
Posted January 26, 2010 9:40 am by fantasia_kitty
We’ve received a couple spy reports the past two days regarding the song by Evanescence that was originally intended for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Skilletdude writes:
Back in early 2005, we received a Word on the Street about Amy Lee of the rock band Evanescence contributing a song to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. However, this did not happen and was later denied by the film production that the song was even considered which caused a bit of confusion. At any rate, “The Narnia Song” (officially called “Together Again”) was released a day ago to help raise money for the relief effort for the recent tragedy in Haiti.
If you would like a copy of this song, all you have to do is donate just $5 (or more if you wish) to the Haiti relief efforts on the United Nations Foundation’s website here.
We’re also aware of the fact that the song exists on other various websites. We request that you do not post a link to those sites on NarniaWeb as we’re quite certain they’re not legal.
The lyrics to the song can be read in Skilletdude’s post just below this news story.
Thanks to Skilletdude and nikki for the heads-up!

I especially think this bit describes Lucy very well at the end of PC.
This part makes me think of Jill in LB. Actually, I think it suits LB best, and I think I would like to hear it there.

Great song, though I believe it is best suited for LB more then LWW!

I agree that it doesn't have an end feel to LWW, but I can still see it fitting throuhgout the story. To me, it seems like a character based song for Susan at the start of the story and her disbelief in Narnia. The first part of the song seems to match to the leaving of London and that as a family, they would one day all be together again. The second part with "so many fears" gives me the sense of when Edmund leaves the other three and how Susan might feel that even in Narnia, the family is still separated and how she wants them to still "be together again". Then the last portion would be the realization of how the world of Narnia is full of danger and there is a darkness that rules. "Leaving the broken world behind" could be a reference to the WW2 world, having set everything right in Narnia and now living there as kings and queens. I don't really see the connection with PC, but I can see it as having a match up to the story of LB.
I much prefer this song to a lot of the other end songs that are on both the LWW and PC soundtracks, but I can see why it was not chosen in the end.

I like "Together Again," although it seems a bit dark for a children's movie.
At first glance it doesn't seem to have much to do with Narnia.
At second glance it seems to say that Narnia is a dream land, which is something that I highly object to. Narnia isn't Wonderland. The cool thing about Lewis's writing is that he made Narnia so believable. But maybe it is supposed to be metaphorical.
At third glance I see that it could be interpreted the other way around, -that England and WWII may be just a dream in the end, which is much more interesting, and obviously metaphorical. I'm not quite sure what the writer of this song intended, but then again, I still don't understand "Wunderkind," (mostly since I keep finding differing lyrics for the song on the internet. Does anyone know where I can find an "official" copy of the Wunderkind lyrics?).
After downloading "Together Again" I was inspired to finally listen to "In Like A Lion" by Relient K, which was written in hopes that it would be included on the "Inspired by LWW" CD. I was quite impressed by that song as well.
I can't wait to add these songs to my Narnia Playlist!

I'm actually glad they didn't use it for LWW. Too dark and eerie for that story, indeed. But it's nice and would be good for an "Inspired by" CD, as long as they indicate it was based on "The Last Battle" or some other book.

I’m not to wild about the lyrics. Doesn’t seem like they fit LWW that much.
I always wondered about this "lost" song. Glad to see it’s finally legally available!
I don’t think the lyrics fit LWW. Maybe Prince Caspian.
I’m glad thay did’t use it from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Sorry I manet to shay for!
Yay! I love Evanesance!
I could see it for the Last Battle but not LWW
Wow, this fits PC more than LWW, I think. I actually like the lyrics, though.
The song is good but it’s a little too dark for LWW I think that it better suits PC. She has a beautiful voice though
it sounds kinda cute it kinda fits the story of the dawn treater.i loved "the call".the song they used in prince caspian.i thought it was perfect, beautiful it made me cry.i hope they do that again on the dawn treader one that touches your heart just like narnia!!!!!
it doesnt really fit with narnia in any way. it sounds more like a love song than a children’s fantasy song for a movie.
i hope so too. i hope that they started a little tradition of playing a song similar to "the call" at the end as the movie is wrapping up because i just loved that whole idea in PC. they kinda did it in LWW, but the song was more during the credits, but it was so pretty. "the call" was so perfect and it made me almost cry too
OMJ (oh my Jonas) you remember ‘The Call’ it’s the most beautiful song I have ever heard and it soooo fits PC. I thought everyone had forgotten that song!!! I listen to it everyday
I think the song ‘together again’ is good but doesn’t fit LWW because they didn’t know they were going home so how could they be sad :S
But i think it’s good they are rasing money for Haiti
How could someone forget that song?! It is the prettiest song ever!!! I know all the lyrics and have the sheet music for it
"The Call" and "Wunderkind" were probably the best choices- judging from the lyrics, it almost sounds like a credit song for Silver Chair or Last Battle.
This song is awesome, but it is unfair that Narnia gets some credit for it, because the film director rejected it, said it was too ominous, so I don’t know why this song is here, Amy explained it
I love it how they would do that to help Haiti! Great country. It’s really awesome that they can finally release their song as well. It was good timing for this occasion!
It’s a wonderful song. Very sad, beautiful and haunting. I’m glad Evanescence released it to raise money for the Haiti relief effort. It’s a great song, I think they should have included it on the Narnia soundtrack.
By the way, Evanescence is not done, as someone commented, their new album is coming out in Fall of 2010.
Nice lyrics, though this does sound better for Last Battle. I’m gonna look up this song now.
Cool! That sound’s pretty awesome! I wonder if I can find it on youtube. . .
I’m listening to it right now! Guys! Go on youtube!
Are you sure that it’s legal there?
I think it is definitely to dark for LWW, it may have worked for PC, it is a good song though. Glad I finally got to hear it!
Hmm… The song is pretty good by itself, but I can’t really see it for any of the Narnia movies. Maybe Last Battle, but if the song was in the credits, then it would be kinda weird since the movie would have ended happily and they wouldn’t be talking about leaving Narnia or coming back to it.
But interesting song either way!
yo quiero que pongan un trailer de león Asla y ya bye
the lyrics sound a bit more fitting for LWW…..I’m not totally amazed, but it is a cool song……though not very VotDT!
Even if I did like the lyrics, I’m not too thrilled about only being able to access the song legally by donated to the United Nations relief effort. I believe better ways exist to help out Haiti, not just for more-immediate earthquake relief but for the long-term. Recently I interviewed the head of Northwest Haiti Christian Mission, a great Christ-centered organization with those goals.
Still, the "lost song" element of it makes me curious, and if it’s ever released on iTunes or elsewhere, I might check it out. Non-Narnia-like lyrics also apply to "Winter Light"!
I don’t understand why no one really thinks the lyrics go with LWW… When I read the lyrics they made TOTAL sense to me to go with LWW…or actually after LWW. It seems to me to be sort of like a diary entry that Lucy made the day all four of the Pevensies came through the wardrobe after hunting the White Stag. They had just been in Narnia for many years and now find themselves back on Earth…in just an instant. These lyrics made me think of the part of the movie where Lucy and the Professor are talking in front of the wardrobe wondering if and how to ever get back.
So anyway, I LOVE the lyrics! I’ll have to check out what the song sounds like.
Well that is wierd! Just like meeeeee!!!
Wow i really haven’t been on here in forever and none of you probably know me by my username but that’s cool. I’m listening to the song now and my first thoughts to this piece of news (of which I am very late in replying to)was "Narnia"…"Evanescence"…what?! Confusion. Perhaps it’s just me but the two don’t really seem to go together. It is kind of an eerie song and I’m ever so glad that it was not in either of the movies as it’s too dark for both even if they made PC more dark than the book(and didn’t follow the book…grrr). I don’t like how she sings "all a dream in the end" because it was most definatley not an Alice in Wonderland scenario. But oh well…
