From the Franciscan University news story: “Chip Flaherty, executive vice president of Walden Media, will speak on the power of story and the world of filmmaking at Franciscan University of Steubenville [in Steubenville, OH].

His talk, “Story, Movies and You,” will be held in the Tony and Nina Gentile Gallery of the J. C. Williams Center at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13. It is free and open to the public.

Flaherty will share stories and video clips from his work in cinema. Walden Media is known for family-friendly works such as the Chronicles of Narnia films, Because of Winn-Dixie, Nim’s Island, and more. The company is a strong supporter of education, and bases many of its films on books in an effort to inspire children to read.”
