An Interview With Tony Nixon

The blog Teatro che Passione recently interviewed Tony Nixon, who portrays Rynelf in the upcoming Dawn Treader film. They discussed Tony’s involvement with Narnia, his acting career, and his plans for the future. The interview is available in several languages, though you will have to scroll down the page to find the English translation. It’s a bit of a rough translation, but understandable enough. You can view the entire interview here.

  3. Aslan's Meadow says:

He is what I though Rynelf should look like. Can't wait to see him on the big screen!

  4. Bother Eustace says:

I really like Tony Nixon, from what I've seen and heard of him. He seems very nice, and I think he'll do a fantastic job as Rynelf!

  5. very very cool! can't wait to see Rynelf (Tony) on screen!

  6. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

tony certainly is very professional at self promotion. wish he'd give ben barnes some lessons, he doesn't really self promote much, ben kind of falls off the map between movies and doesn't really keep in touch with his fans. not even an official website, nada. you go, tony! looking forward to seeing you, you're great at developing a relationship with the fans.

  7. Greg says:

    Same here!

All nice comments. You would all now by now that Tony is close to me as are many of the cast. Just remember it IS a small role. That being said someone else once said "There are no small roles .. only small actors"
I'm sure he is aware that any role in Narnia is a big deal. The whole cast (Especially the support cast) are eagerly awaiting "What made the cut".
I will direct him to have a look at your comments though, I am sure he will be grateful for your support. And I suppose he isn't as busy as Mr Barnes 🙂
He also has site admin to help with promoting him.

  9. Adeona says:

Sorry we were "Put-offing" Mr. Nixon. Nothing personal at all! I'm sure you did a wonderful job as Rynelf!

  10. sailor says:

I think he meant the pressure of expectation and speculation was off putting, not individuals
    😉

  11. GlimGlum says:

Good point, sailor. There have been any number of movies in filmdom's history where a "small role" stole the movie from everyone else. Small does not mean insignifcant for sure.

Please convey our best wishes to Tony Nixon. Thanks. 🙂

  12. GlimGlum says:

It was also nice seeing Rynelf in the international trailer for VDT.

  13. Annabeth says:

    who's Rynelf? sorry, it's been years since i last read VDT… :S

  14. Starlily says:

In the book he was just a sailor, I think. In the movie he's the first mate.

(Looking forward to seeing you on screen, Mr. Nixon! 🙂 )

  15. sailor says:

Yes for those who don't know Tony. The Moment in the Trailer, is when Minotaur Shane Rangi and Rynelf are sharing a joke. Rynelf pats Tavros on the chest and Tavros slaps Rynelf on the back. Also a small piece of Trivia Rynelf is next too Reep when they bow, and it''s Tony leading the "For Narnia" Cheer as Caspian comes down the steps. He was thrilled to make the Trailer cut. 😉

  16. sailor says:

Due to the edit Rynelf is no longer referred too in the script by Drinian or Caspian.
Tony is disappointed … BUT still happy to have played a SMALL part in this BIG film.
