Australia’s Ten News Interviews Arabella Morton

There’s a really cool interview online with Arabella Morton who plays Gael in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. She talks very little about her role in the film (which she says was a bit difficult as she normally keeps secrets for about 2 minutes) and how excited she is to head to London (though she arrived there today!).

You can check out her interview on YouTube here.

Thanks to Narnia_Maniac for the heads up!

    She's cute!

  2. Pepper Darcy says:

Oh is she a cutie! I'm so glad they added her dynamic to the story! 🙂

  3. She
    is
    so
    freaking
    cute.

  4. Samuel the Magnificent says:

I wish they would tell us what her role is. But I'm happy for her.

  5. Queen Elizabeth says:

She is so adorable! I think she plays Drinian's daughter I guess. And maybe they were looking for her mother or something because when her and Lucy had their little talk in that one clip Lucy was like "We'll find her, I promise."

  6. Pepper Darcy says:

    That's exactly what's going on! 😀

  7. timo says:

I think they needed a new Lucy, because Lucy's become to grown up now. When all the grown ups saw the first movie they were all like: 'aaaawwww how cute!!', in the second movie they all tried to be grown ups, even Lucy, and now they try to cover this nicely by putting in Gael. (just a theory 😉 )
I don't know if I like it, I have to see the movie for this.

  8. Louloudi the Centaur says:

I actually found out who Gael was on that Narnia Faith website. I found out, as some of us speculated:WARNING:SPOILERS: Gael is Rhince's daughter, in search of her mother and Rhince's wife who was taken by the Green Mist.

  9. Amelia says:

She is so cute! I can't wait to see her in the film!

  10. WarriorOfNarnia says:

I still don't like the idea of her

  11. Queen Elizabeth says:

    NO ONE CAN REPLACE LUCY!!!!

  12. narnian resident says:

how very cute is she! and she is such a talented little actress, just from watching sneak preview clips and such. did you see, she had an awesome Dawn Treader satchel that was put into her suitcase, how cool :-D. oh! and i LOVE her dress! its so beautiful! i cannot wait to see her in it! she's going to look so lovely!

  13. Princess Lucy says:

wow i watch this news…hehehe….miss this though…this must be the morning news….now i will make sure and watch it in the afternoon with a different host….hhehehee…she's so cute…btw wat time does the priemier start in london….and wat time will that be in australian time…thanxs 🙂

  14. decarus says:

I agree. I still don't think they need to waste time on extra characters.

  15. decarus says:

I still can't get over the fact that green mist is stealing people. Why? How? For what purpose? Just because it is 'EVIL'? That is dumb.

  16. Queen Elizabeth says:

In the book they had a task but there was really no "bad guy" and in order to have a movie format that will sell, they needed to add a conflict.

  17. LL says:

Omg I want that satchel at 1:14!!!!! <3

  18. Believer in His new name says:

Wow, she is really cute, but I just really hope they don't try to add a lot of drama and make her the pitiful little girl that is getting in the way of what is happening in the story. I'm pretty sure that's not whats going to happen though since the film makers seem to be playing the action up a bit since basically every bit of actoin I can think of being in the film was condenced into the trailer. All in all it looks as though she will be a cute character, even though she wasn't in the book, which I love!

  19. WarriorOfNarnia says:

She may be cute, but she doesn't fit in

  20. stateofgreen says:

I agree. She's cute and I could sort of see why they put her in VDT, unnecessarily so.

  21. checkers says:

    I want her bag…:P

  22. decarus says:

No they don't. Action and bizarre evil that has no reason why just is evil does not make the film better. There had better be a reason or a causer. No evil that just is.

  23. so awesome! she's adorable!

  24. motovin03 says:

4 days to go here in The Philippines!!! OMG! i can't believe this! Narnia will conquer us again by Dec.3 , yay! -so excited!- ;-D

  25. Reepicheep says:

When I saw her in the clip where Eustace turns into a dragon I was thinking 'who's that?' Now I see why I was thinking that, she's not in the book. I probably ought to read it again it's been ages.

  26. Pepper Darcy says:

no kidding! I saw it and thought, wow that's really neat! Now *THAT* is a bookbag! 🙂

  27. Aragorn2 says:

    She is Rince's daughter

  28. Brisa says:

I agree. I don't like villains who are just "evil" for no reason.
How can green mist consciously kidnap people, anyway?

  29. glumPuddle says:

She'll always be the MLG to me!

  30. Mayor Wilkins says:

So the Green Mist took her mother…that's not bad. It adds just a little extra incentive.
Am I the only one that likes the Green Mist? (I know I'm not. Just saying if for effect. 😉 )
As I said in a previous post, the Green Mist is a great idea. An elemental force of evil is terrifying. It's almost devilish in a way. It exists with a sole purpose to steal souls and corrupt people through temptation–if that's not a symbol of Satan, then I'm not sure what is…other than The White Witch (which the Green Mist uses to personify temptation 😉 ) And given that Aslan's Christian connection is so strong in this story, it would only make sense that he is countered by a force opposite of him. I love it!

  31. Narnian_Archer says:

She may be cute, but she still doesn't belong in the movie. Why add extra characters? I'm afraid mere "cuteness" isn't a good enough excuse for me…

  32. Mangolite says:

Bring back the magic. Bring back the cuteness- hehe.

  33. Annabeth says:

awww, she's cute, and she had a great wardrobe :), but I don't get it, who is she? why is she in the film? anyone? please elaborate.

  34. Annabeth says:

i totally agree with you. now i'm soooo afraid that she's going to turn VDT into "An American Girl Holiday" rather than an epic "Return to Narnia"
    🙁 🙁 🙁

  35. michalina says:

She's like little Georgie Henley 🙂

  36. michalina says:

    Yes! Our MLG 🙂

  37. Kale&Bardon (aka murtaghluv) says:

That dress was gorgeous. and she is so adorable

  38. Pepper Darcy says:

does MLG stand for Mysterious Little Girl? I think it does. But I love your sense of humor, Glumpuddle! 😀

and I also wanted to say, I didn't think you were rude for saying what you thought on the seven swords plot, I respect your opinon very highly. So I hope you don't feel like I was upset or mad at you? I try really hard not to be rude/mean/ or a jerk to people who think different from me, especially on matters that aren't black and white/Scriptural issues. On Narnia it's okay to have vast, varried ideas/opinons/views. So I hope I didn't say anything offensive to anyone… :/

  39. Scarlet13 says:

    She is SOOO Cute!

  40. glumPuddle says:

Seeing that old spy video of the MLG going overboard sure brought back memories. Remember when they were shooting and HD spy videos were popping up every day?

  41. glumPuddle says:

It probably is indeed the case that the mist is being added because some kind of "villain" is needed to sell the movie. Which is really really sad. I hate seeing such wonderful stories being distorted for short-term commercial gain. The idea sickens me. I hope that is not what is happening here.

The people who wouldn't like a villainless VDT movie probably wouldn't like the book either.

  42. King of Narnia says:

    yah,just a little.

  43. glumPuddle says:

I have stayed very spoiler-free for the past few weeks, so I don't know how I feel about the MLG. Could be good, could be bad.

  44. Queen Elizabeth says:

I work on some short films. And although you all don't like it the movie would be pretty boring to people who aren't huge fans like us. From past experiences a movie without a motive or conflict is pretty confusing.

  45. Queen Elizabeth says:

I don't think there's anything wrong with adding characters. The main true themes behind the story is still there. It's still the Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

  46. A_Narnian_Ship says:

    reminiscing already, are we, glumPuddle?

  47. narnime says:

Aww, she can be my little sister that I always wanted!:) SOO CUTE AND FUNNY AND JUST PLAIN ADORABLE!! 🙂

  48. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

i agree with this theory , i for one are bummed lucy is so grown up now, she was fantastic at age 8

  49. Daniel James says:

I remember the day that video of MLG and Rhince jumping off the ship came out! I'd been checking my Google Reader when I saw Narniaweb's alert to it.
Soon, we'll hopefully be able to stop reminiscing VDT and instead start looking forward to SC spoilers. (or if they do what I would love for them to do, that is, film SC, MN, and HHB at more or less the same time [with different directors], we could look forward to a TON of spoilers!)

  50. I'm spoiler-free, so I don't know much about the MLG yet, but…I've got to say I'm rather excited about seeing her. Arabella isn't just adorable, she's pretty, and she looks fantastic in what clips I accidentally stumbled across.
    11 more days…

  51. Princess Lucy says:

this is a fantasy story…this genre is always different to the reality…but it also needs to make sense…the green mist stealing slaves could make sense if they presented in the way it doesn't sound like they just add it to sell the film…but i'm sure with their experiences it will make sense…lets seeeeee

  52. NewMillenium says:

O_O at 30 seconds- I have the EXACT same dress as that…but she has it in a child's size….super weird…

  53. Narnian Meerkat says:

Hm. Why do I have a small feeling that she's going to steal all of Georgie's attention of when she was little?

  54. Narnian Meerkat says:

    HA! Ironic! COOL!

  55. Jill Pole says:

I really want to insure this girl. I have a feeling she's going to be making a lot of money in her life time 😀 Freakin' adorable!

  56. Alambil and Tarvis says:

AAAWWW SHE IS SO CUTE!!! I can't wait to see her in VDT. I hope she does more films! 😀

And I LOVE her bag. 😛

  57. GlimGlum says:

Welcome to Narnia, Arabella. 🙂 Looking forward to your performance as Gael. 😀

  58. Little Lu says:

    I AGREE WITH YOU! 🙂
