The Dawn Treader Gets Tangled

We have received a few reports that the theatrical trailer for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is currently playing in front of Disney’s Tangled, which opened on Wednesday. It is also still playing in front of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One.

Good. This movie seems like compitition to VDT. It might turn out to help us.

  2. StephanieTheFaithful says:

Good to heard, they are getting the word out there.

  3. Twain Sight says:

I can witness to that> I saw Tangled yesterday (really, very good; I would recommend it for about ages 6 through 100 ;))

  4. Rhys says:

I'm still to see the trailer in the Cinema. I hope they start screening it soon…

  5. Evan Morgan says:

I was never worried that Tangled would be a major competition with Dawn Treader if even a little. It's great to hear that it is in front of a Disney movie! 😀 Makes me happy!

Yep! I went to see Tangled and I got to see the VDT trailer in 3D! Awesomesause 😛

  7. eustacegirl says:

It is also in front of "love like a drug" (please do NOT see "Love Like a Drug. My friends and I walked out adn the other previews were innappropriate and so were the ads. VDT was the only bright spot.) It was also in front of "You Again" in some older theatre.

  8. I've got no recent movie to see except for VDT these days, so I won't be seeing a preview. But on the bright side…. The movie is only a couple weeks away!!!

  9. LL says:

I saw it the day it came out!

I saw Tangled in 3D. Tangled was absolutely fantastic! I also saw the VDT 3D trailer. The 3D could use improvements in some spots, but I think that it will add depth to the film's beautiful panoramic shots. I just hope it will draw viewers in and immerse them in the story like Bolt, Nightmare Before Christmas, Tangled, Toy Story 3, and other 3D Disney films have. Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D was the first film I ever saw and really forgot I was watching a movie. I hope it will be the same in Dawn Treader.

I've been wanting to see "Tangled", it looks like lots of fun 🙂

wow, and I'm the dope who thought that How to Train Your Dragon would be stupid and once I saw it couldn't believe how awesome it was.

Now it looks like I'm also the dope who thought Tangled was kind of retarded looking and is going to be proved wrong!

I'm NOT dope enough to think DT looks stupid. Narnia 3 is going to rock!! 😀 YAHOOOOO! 😀 Can't wait to see it in 3D 😀

  13. Princess Lucy says:

thats great…more children will see the trailer and convince their parents to take them to see it…hehehehee

  14. Queen Susan the Gentle says:

Saw the movie… didn't see the trailer… then again I had to go to the restroom…..

I wish it was the new trailer instead of one of the first trailers. although the first trailers did seem more on the kiddie side than the new one. oh well.

    oh and Tangled: AWESOME MOVIE!!!

I saw Tangled yesterday & got sooo excited when the trailer came on 🙂

  18. Last King of Narnia says:

My main worry is Disney's other film Tron:Legacy which comes out the week after. I have to admit it looks really good and could take a lot of viewers away from VDT.

  19. Casue says:

Just saw Tangled and my little sister screamed "OMG It's Prince Caspian. I love him!"
shes's only four and my obsession with all things inside the wardrobe has made her as crazy as i am.
She loved tangled, and so did i.
    I cried towards the end.

  20. Casue says:

Why does Aslan have a Santa hat on the Narniaweb logo at the top of the screen???

  21. Tribunal says:

Tangled has grossed $70 million since it's release on Wednesday. That means a good chunk got to see the trailer, hopefully hype starts spreading out fast!

  22. Rob W. Case says:

Playing the trailer in front of Tangled is very good strategy (whether it was purposely intended or not). After all, even though Fox is doing the 3rd film, if people like the third movie and have never seen the first two, then it will arouse interest in the first two, which will in turn boost sales for the Disney company which sells them. Interesting marketing dynamic.

I just saw Harry Potter last weekend and they didn't play the VDT preview before the movie, which I found a little odd and disappointing 🙁 Most of the previews weren't kid-friendly though I dare say neither are the recent HP movies (I sure wouldn't take a child to see them).
I haven't seen Tangled yet, but I hear it's great and I LOVE Disney movies. I can't wait to see VDT! It's my favorite of the Narnia series 🙂

  24. narnian resident says:

i saw Tangled yesterday (which by the way, absolutely LOVED it!) and when the trailer came up i jumped and freaked out, and my friends all looked over at me and i got all embarrassed 😀

  25. narnian resident says:

    because its Christmas time 😀

  26. narnian resident says:

    agree with the AWESOME!! 😀
