Huge Dawn Treader Banner at Cannes

Collider.com has posted a HUGE picture of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader banner at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. (Click here for the full sized image.)

Dawn Treader Banner at Cannes Film Festival

The banner features Caspian, Reepicheep, and Aslan on the left side, and Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace on the right. Unfortunately Eustace is pretty hard to make out, but the rest of the banner makes up for it. Hopefully we’ll get some more pictures of it later today that will have a better angle.

Thanks to Johnny T, matt, and Jacquelyn for the heads-up!

UPDATE: Overnight, we received spy reports from Johnny T, CaspianX, and AJAiken with a link to additional pictures of the banner. EmpireOnline.com has posted pictures of the side panels and the ship has indeed made it on to the banner! You can view the story here.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Very cool, but where is the Dawn Treader? Oh yeah..over there in the corner…. :p

  2. checkers says:

Lucy looks…strange, like not herself. Guess it's just a weird picture though. I like Eustace, Edmund, Aslan and Reepicheep, and I love the fact that Edmund has Peter's sword. 😀 😀 😀
Ben Barnes needs to get rid of that beard…. xÞ

    • Haggith Tarkheena says:

I really like that Edmund has Rhindon too.
And a too wish Caspian would get rid of that beard also. . .but hey, we can get used to it. Besides, I think it's supposed to show that he's older now and a King and not a Prince any more. 🙂

  3. Braden Woodburn says:

WOW! They all look so much different compared to Prince Caspian. Especially Lucy! Ekk! This movie is gonna be slammin!

    • Narnia Is My Life says:

I know the movie has really grown since LLW.Lucy looks really grown up and Edmund just looks hot, no change there then 😉 oh and Caspian now looks like Orlando Bloom so everything is good 😀

      • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

That looks /nothing/ like the Ben Barnes I've seen pictures (and a movie) of! Even when I've seen clips of interviews and pictures with the beard, he looks /so/ different on the banner!

      • narniafan4ever ♥ says:

lol ya i kno! Lucy looks alot different too! 🙂 I am excited tho..yay! I am happy that we have been getting alot of pictures lately! thank you thank you thank you!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 hehe 😉

      • Hope in the Lord says:

I really like it. Looks awesome. Caspian looks older actually like him with a goatee and Ed is as hot as ever. 😉 Lucy looks beautiful. and Eustace (don't know the actor) looks like a brat just the way he should. So all's right in my universe. Now if they can break out the trailers…

      • narniafan4ever ♥ says:

        @ hope in the lord:

        ditto! And I REALLY can't wait for the trailer!! 😀 😀 😀 haha 😉

      • Narnia4ever says:

Wow at first I thought Lucy was Susan. XD Wonder what she'll look like in the Last Battle?

  4. LL says:

Caspian and Edmund look major heroic!!!

    • Duffleglum says:

I know.. about time Edmund was portrayed as a super cool guy in a Narnia poster 😛

This is getting more and more awesome!

      • LL says:

Sure is… 🙂 he's always been a super cool guy…but now the poster really shows it!!!

      • narniafan4ever ♥ says:

lol!! ya, totally agree! He looks dashing! 😀 hehe 😉

      • NarnianElf says:

        Smashing!! lol 😀

      • Jill Pole says:

Geesh . . . 'dashing'? . . . just the way Skandy wanted it to be. =O Lol! Whatever. =) I hope this is going to be awesome. Advertisements show it pretty well.

  5. Caspian says:

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Can someone please PLEEEEEEZE tell me why Lucy suddenly looks like Elisabeth Swann? And what's with Edmund holding Rhindon? And Caspian looking so…so…elderly? *shudder* Do I want to see the trailer now? (well, yes, but I think I'm almost scared too…). Still. Let's hope it's just the crazy angle from which the pics were taken that messes with Lu's look…and that her face has probably been massively digitally altered. *sigh*

    DAWN TREADER OR BUST!!!!

    • Aslanschild says:

They always fool around with the actors appearance on the promos. Remember Lucy peeking out from behind the door when she first discovered the wardrobe, it was one of the first promos they released for LWW, they put major makeup on her in that one. And I while I think Edmund will wield Rhindon well, I liked his old sword better in his hands, Peters sword is Peters sword and none others.

      • Trufflehunter says:

Why is everybody saying that Edmund is holding Rhindon. I understand that he's holding a sword, but that sword looks nothing like Rhindon did. This sword does not have the handle thing (sorry, I do not know the proper termanology).

      • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

That is /so/ not Rhindon! It's his centaur sword (yes, that's the kind of sword he's always used and that is its name!).
But I /did/ see a picture of Caspian with Rhindon (if you go on thelionscall.com in the caption contest section and scroll down the list, you'll find it). And while he may wield it well and "look after it", I personally don't think he should use the high king's sword. By rights, I think only Peter should be swinging that lovely blade around (I know he handed it to Caspian at the end of PC, but I don't think it was a gesture of "here, go ahead and use it all you want").

      • NarniaNerd says:

It DOES have a handguard, it is just hard to see.

To me, that is almost unmistakably Rhindon. Maybe if I look at it forty-six more times it will turn out that it's not. But I'm pretty sure it is.

      • Reepicheep, Knight of Narnia says:

Looking at it very closely (for the millionth time!), I think the sword is Rhindon, but I don't know that it's Edmund's arm that is holding it. It certainly isn't from the picture of Edmund on the poster. The arm is coming from the front of the poster, not the back, where Edmund is (I know I'm talking like the poster is 3-D, but that's how it would be if the poster was 3-D). Anyway, I'd be totally more in favor of Edmund using Rhindon than Caspian or (a most terrible thought!) Rhindon being put in storage! Well, anyway, due to a picture we've seen earlier, we do know that Rhindon will be in the movie, no matter who uses it.

      • MountainFireflower says:

The whole sword thing looks weird to me. It's such an odd pose that I really can't tell who is holding the sword, much less if the sword is Rhindon. At first I thought Lucy was holding the sword, because it didn't seem to match up to Edmund's pose. *shrugs*

      • NarniaNerd says:

Reepicheep, Knight of Narnia, you're right, the way he (or whoever) is holding it is really weird. *scratches head and raises one eyebrow* But pics on movie posters and such have a habit of looking funny.

      • narniafan4ever ♥ says:

yeah thats true! You can't judge a movie by its promotion poster! lol 😉

      • Jill Pole says:

Ditto, that is what I thought, also; Lucy (Georgie) holding the sword. I thought it looked like it was in a rather awkward position. ?
        Anyway . . .

    • Lucy says:

She don't look nothin' like Elizabeth Swan; Elizabeth swan looked like she never ate a whole sandwich!

    • Starlily says:

You know, I just had a thought. Maybe they gave Lucy such a "made-up" look to distinguish her from the two boys. I'm not saying that she looks like a boy (I personally think Georgie is very pretty), but maybe they wanted to make her very clearly feminine, so they gave her more make-up or photoshopped her. I'm sure it's just for the poster–you know how different things actually look in the movie. The posters usually look half CGI-ed and really fantastical because they're trying to attract people. Just look at the ones from the other movies.
Anyway, that's just my two-cents worth.

    • Haggith Tarkheena says:

What's the matter with you guys? Of course they all look older! I like it. Because when Narnia was Disney, they made it look to kidish like, ESPECIALLY Prince Caspian. LWW wasn't all that bad. Now that it's FOX, it will probably be alot better. But, seriously, I'm glad they look so serious. It makes the whole thing look great. Let's just all hope that the movie really IS.

  6. QStheG says:

It's very amazing & super)))))I like banner VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!))))Lucy is very beatiful, really Queen of Old.I' m agree with LL.Caspian and Edmuna are very cute and courageous. But I don't like Eustace …sorry))

  7. Andreya Of Narnia says:

Wow! It looks great! Scary to see how much Skandar, Ben, and Georgie have grown up. They all look wonderful though. 🙂 And I also like Aslan. There's something a little more appealing to him than the LWW and the PC Aslan. I can't put my finger on it though. 😉
Keep the story of Aslan alive!!

  8. Bethany Weathers says:

Lucy looks like a boy… it took me a moment to figure out it was her. Edmund and Eustace look awesome though.

  9. TheValiantLucy says:

Wow!!!! Everyone looks so amazing!! Now I really can't wait for Christmas!!!! :):):):):):):)

  10. TumnusTheBrave says:

they need 2 make lucy look younger like she was in LWW or at least like when she was in PC

    • narniafan#1 says:

Remember, all the kids do get older in the books. Lucy changes age as the books progress. I don't mind them looking a little older, just so long as their personalities don't change. 🙂

  11. glumPuddle says:

Wow. Lucy looks intense. And what's up with Edmund holding Rhindon by the blade?

    • Aslan's Meadow says:

I think Lucy looks that way to draw crouds in…trying to make it look bigger, darker and more'epic'

    • NarniaNerd says:

I know, seriously, what's up with that?!?! If you read my earlier post, you know my "theory" about that. 🙂

I'm still getting used to the fact that Edmund has Rhindon, period. All this time I thought Caspian was going to have it. *scratches head and looks befuddled*
I'm not sure yet, but I think I like it better that Ed has it. I have to think about it.
Lucy does look intense. Which reminds me, I can't wait to see what's going on with the soldiers in armor and the damaged ship and all.

      • NarniaNerd says:

        *comment, not post

      • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

I won't repeat what I said in reply to an earlier comment, so if you want to read it, go ahead and look for a comment reply from "Ariel_of_Narnia" nearer to the top of the comments.

      • NarniaNerd says:

I am quite sure that Ed has Rhindon – at least in that picture. I'm also pretty sure he has it in some of the spy photos, too. His other sword has a much different-looking pommel.

    • tenthofthatname says:

I think Rhindon is photoshopped into Edmund's hand. Something about the shading and the size difference between grip and blade seems off to me. I think Rhindon in general has a wider blade too…that or Skandar has really big hands.

      • narniafan#1 says:

I'm a major Narnia freak, but to be honest, I wouldn't know Rhindon from any other sword. And since Edmund would now technically be the only old king of Narnia, it doesn't seem all that unnatural for him to take it up where his brother left off.
Honestly, I don't remember it ever being important in the books.

  12. QueenLucy12 says:

OMGSH! Lucy Looks sooooooo different!!!!! and Edmund looks hotter!!!:D and Eustace looks okay so far! Caspian … WOW! A Beard????? Seriously???? He really looks like Orlando bloom!
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE TRAILER!!!!!!!

    • QStheG says:

XXDD Maybe William Turner? It's very funny)))

      • QueenLucy12 says:

haha!! 🙂 yeah, but i hate the fact that ppl r saying that this is something like potc!

      • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

Yeah, really! I'd sooner hear "Caspian looks like another Aragorn" (which I don't want to hear because Narnia is way cooler than LotR (in my opinion; lots of other people I know disagree with me)) than "Caspian looks like Will". And I've never seen Pirates!

      • QueenLucy12 says:

yeah but don't you mean "Eragon"??? yeah I have never seen lotr, but i think either way narnia is better! potc is really cool too!

  13. AncientEgyptFan says:

This looks very cool! I like Edmund's armor; even though you can't see a-lot of it.

  14. Lucy says:

Lucy and Eustace look pretty good, but to be completley honest, I don't think its a very flattering photo of either Caspian or Edmund. Edmund's squinting like the Duke of Galma's daughter, and Caspian sort of has this blank "What'd I do now?" expression on his face (plus also he looks funny with a beard). Still, it looks great all the same (if that makes any sense LOL) and I can't wait to see a real poster and TRAILER!

  15. Edmund-is-hot says:

    AAAAGH
    OMG
    How exciting!!!
    Edmund. Looks. So. Hot! 😀

  16. AHHH! I so can't wait! Hmmm, could anyone tell me who it is on the left side? It says "Caspian, Reepicheep, and Aslan on the left side" But…that ain't Ben Barnes! I'm confused. They didn't get another actor for Caspian X?!?!?!?!

    • Lucy says:

actually that IS Ben-with a beard. I know, yikes, right?

      • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

Personally, the beard isn't half as bad as the ponytail….

      • narniafan4ever ♥ says:

        haha…wait a ponytail? I didn't see that one! lol

      • NarnianElf says:

Me either, I'll have to look for that 🙂

      • Starlily says:

I don't mind the ponytail so much. I mean, it could be worse…he could have braids like Legolas. 😉

      • narniafan4ever ♥ says:

lol! ya, but legolas is supposed to be that angelic type. haha…Caspian should be a strong masculine kinda guy lol

      • Starlily says:

Ponytails were very masculine during the American Revolutionary War. 😀

I guess I don't mind if Caspian ties his hair out of his face when he's doing work or something. But I do hope he lets it loose at other times. 😛

  17. Mirima Rosetrader says:

Wow! That looks SOOO AWESOME!!! Oh yeah and NarniaPrincess that is Ben Barnes he just looks really different in a beard. Edmund looks great! He looks cool with Rhindon! Oh man I cannot wait until at least a trailer comes out! *tries not to scream* 😀 Long live Aslan and Sail on VDT!!!!

  18. Lyle says:

I wish they would have aged Caspian more. I know the book says that only a few years had passed since the Pevenises visited Narnia but I think it would make it more dramatic if Caspian was in his thirties (and more muscular with a thin beard).

Either way, everything looks great! And Lucy looks gorgeous!

    • QueenLucy12 says:

well he is about to turn 30 in august!

      • liz says:

actully its 29 hes going 2 be in aug @ if i remeber right its been 3yrs from the 2nd and 3rd book but it been 2yrs since the last movie came out right?

    • tenthofthatname says:

I'm hoping he's aged more in the film too, not 3 years but maybe 6 years or even 8 years.

      • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

Eww. I think that'd be a little… too much. 8 years? I dunno. Maybe just my opinion.

      • tenthofthatname says:

I think it's more ew to imagine Caspian ages fast. If he's 16-18 in PC and is only 19-21 in VDT he sure doesn't look it |D Ben in VDT has always struck me as 25 or older.

      • Lucy says:

Um I thought the book said, like, three years, NAWT eight. Wouldn't eight years be a bit…erm…much? Just sayin'.

  19. narnia fan 7 says:

Looks awesome but why dos Edmund have Rhindon? and why is he holding is by the blade?

    • QueenLucy12 says:

MAYBE Why he is holding it by the blade is He Fell and the he quickly got the sword to save him from falling! just kidding!!! But who knows!!! 🙂

    • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

      That's not Rhindon.

      • narnia fan 7 says:

Yes it is Rhindon Ariel. it the pommel is a Aslan’s head. the the the gold bands around the hilt.

  20. tenthofthatname says:

Loving Caspian's beard even more! I think what's bothering me about Lucy is how eerie her eyes look in that banner; I can't see her pupils.

  21. Alli says:

I like the idea that Edmund has Rhindon. If Edmund's there, obviously Caspian would defer (rightly) and let Edmund use it. Considering how long the Brothers Pevensie lived and fought together, Edmund is probably already very familiar with Rhindon. Edmund totally outranks Caspian in any case.

    • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

I know this is, like, my fifth time saying it, but that's not Rhindon that Ed's holding. He has a centaur sword.
And as to Ed "outranking" Caspian, I do recall a video on YouTube that seems to imply a friendly duel between the two and by the looks of it, Ed wins. (Yeah, Ed!) ; D

    • DOECOG says:

If any besides Peter uses Rhindon, it should be Edmund not Caspian. I'm not sure I want anyone else but Peter using Rhindon. However, Edmund is Peter's brother and I'm sure he'd rather Ed use his sword than get killed in battle.

    • Reepicheep, Knight of Narnia says:

I like Ed having Rhindon, too. 🙂

  22. RuralNarniaFan says:

Does this mean they're going to screen footage at the festival? 😀

  23. Milady of Narnia says:

Awesome, How cool is that!! I do agree that seeing The Dawn Treader would have made it even sweeter..

  24. Kathy says:

While I'm personally not a fan of Edmund having Rhindon (It's Peter's sword, not his! Also, why did Caspian even bring it along with him? To prove he's the king of Narnia?), the fact that he has it makes sense to a practical degree. He's older/taller, and Rhindon is longer than whatever sword he used in LWW (I'm not sure if it's the same sword from PC), so it would make sense that he would use Rhindon now that he's older? But it still kind of irks me that he has it.

Also, re: huge elbow, that sleeve is very misleading! Telmarine clothes and its puffyness *shakes head*

    • Lucy says:

Actually, I think Caspian would have brought Peter's sword with him for the same reason he brought Lucy's diamond flask with him, because it's a treasure and he can't leave it unguarded…might I add, not to be rude, DUH!

      • Duffleglum says:

Um, the reason Caspian has it would most likely be because it is a Narnian King's Sword, to be passed from one king to the next… Peter gave it to Caspian as a gift…

      • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

Look for a reply to a comment under my name near the top. Until then, I shall say this again: Ed does /not/ have Rhindon!

      • NarniaNerd says:

Ed DOES have Rhindon, unless it's another sword that looks EXACTLY like Rhindon.

  25. Feather~Light~Heart says:

I got so wicked excited when I saw this!!! It looks great. I love the looks of everyone, especially Caspian (his beard looks right in this pic, so yay! 😛 ) and Ed looks so cool. Lucy looks so much older though, I don't know if it is just her look in the pic or what. I think she looks too old and intense, but oh well. I juts caught that Ed is holding Rhindon. Interesting. Wonder how he gets it. And I have no problem with Caspian bringing it along with him. Peter gave it to him at the end of PC – why shouldn't he have it? I can't wait for December!!!!

    • Ariel_of_Narnia says:

      That's not Rhindon. It's a centaur-sword.

    • Violamom says:

Having seen the footage, I can assure you that Lucy still looks like Lucy, just a little older, without being too "womanly". You can really see her older sister in her now (the one who played grown-up Lucy in LWW). Anyway, don't worry…Georgie will be wonderful as always. 😀 <><

    • NarniaNerd says:

Well, Georgie IS fourteen years old now. 🙂 It makes sense that she looks older.

  26. Haggith Tarkheena says:

SWEET!!!! They got way better pics!!!!! WOW Lucy has turned into a nice young lady! Edmund looks GREAT.

  27. NarniaNut says:

AWESOME!!!! getting REALLY anxious to see the movie!!! bring on the commercials!!!

  28. Lord of Cair Paravel says:

Lucy looks so grown up!! She really is a valiant queen

  29. Anna's Sister says:

Oh my Gosh!!!! Lucy looks so grown up. Every time a movie comes out I think I won't be surprised at how much they all have grown up but I freak out every time. Caspian looks really good,(much better than in those production pics)I actually like the beard now.

  30. Xenithar says:

I think it's neat that Edmund has Rhindon – it helps to connect all 3 movies. I wonder how they would manage to keep it in ToS – I guess if Caspian passed it down to his descendants or something. Anywho, it's looking awesome!

  31. MurtaghLuv says:

Omigosh!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that lucy? wow Georgie Really has grown up.
Caspian, Reepicheep and Edmund look pretty much the same(expect for caspians beard) but lucy look grown up. I can't wait now.

  32. KingSkandartheJust says:

Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!! I can not wait! everyone looks wonderful! GGGGGOOOO SKANDAR!

  33. NarnianElf says:

This is great! I think Lucy looks like she's pondering something – or she's kinda scared. Maybe she's looking at the Sea Serpent. And I am very pleased with Eustace! He looks exactly like I always imagined him – he could certainly be a jerk and yet he looks like a nice guy. Perfect!! Everyone's looking good!!!

  34. Aslan's Meadow says:

    This is sooooo exciting!!!!
    CAN'T WAIT

  35. Ariel_of_Narnia says:

I realize that I've said the same thing over and over and over again already on this page and that for anyone reading all comments after me will become greatly annoyed, but Ed's sword does /not/ have a lion at the top so therefore it's not Rhindon! It is a centaur-sword!
Now I'll be quiet and hope no one else thinks that it's Peter's sword….

    • Boke_Wyrm says:

I beg to differ. I took another look and that is a side view of a lion's head on the golden pommel. Plus the gold ring around the handle is in just the right place.

    • tenthofthatname says:

But the pommel is a lion's head, the hilt is wrapped with a swirl-designed leather, the center has a small tongue, and the length of the blade has some kind of markings on it (Rhindon's etching). The sword Edmund uses in LWW and PC is extremely different from this one.

    • You make me laugh, Ariel. I'm beginning to wonder if you have some sort of personal attachment to Edmund NOT having Rhindon. 😉
But I am pretty sure it is Rhindon. No centaur swords thus far have had golden pommels, and especially not Aslan's head on the pommel. Plus, the gold bands around the hilt are unique (as far as I have seen) to Rhindon. The centaur's swords are similar to the design of Edmund's in LWW, but a far cry from Rhindon.

      • NarniaNerd says:

Hear, hear! The pommel has a gold lion's head on it, and the hilt is brown, like Rhindon. Edmund's other sword has a silver pommel.
I'm sorry, Ariel, I don't mean to be argumentative, but we are both equally certain that we are right, and we both keep saying the same thing over and over again, so why don't we call it pax and agree to disagree? 🙂 *extends hand*

  36. frothybeans45731 says:

Holy crap! they made georgie look 20 years old instead of like….14

    • Lucy says:

she does NOT look 20! You're nuts! Let's throw you at the Telmarines, LOL. Just kidding-but seriously, she does NOT LOOK 20 AT ALL!

    • DOECOG says:

Well although she’s only supposed to be ten in the book (she looks much older than ten) when in Narnia she grew into an adult then returned to being a child which means she should look a little older in Narnia because those years are sort of catching up with her again.

  37. Person says:

Whoa! That's amazing! Voyage is going to be sooo epic, I wish it was coming out sooner! AHHH!

  38. Lady Galadriel says:

Okay, my note on the Rhindon discussions. I compared a picture of Rhindon to it, and I'm 99% sure that Edmund has Rhindon. (The lion head looks VERY similar. I think Rhindon might have a wider blade, but I may be mistaken by the weird angle in the VDT poster.)

Also, he IS holding it by the blade, which sounds to me like proof that the picture was Photoshopped.

    • tenthofthatname says:

Am with you on Rhindon having a wider blade! I also feel like that's not even a prop sword, looks like they replaced something else Edmund was holding with Rhindon just to have Rhindon in the banner.

      • narnian resident says:

totally agree with that. i mean, who holds a sword like that? its a very strange way to hold a sword, and it just might be possible he had been holding something else in that pic and they just switched it out to put Rhindon in there. i say, if you're gonna do that, you should at least make it realistic so the audience can believe it, not to mention enjoy it all the more. i would think holding a sword by the blade, especially at the angle in the poster, would be kinda painful, you know?

      • chirpingbird says:

Has anyone else noticed Edmund's hair is WET? My guess is that this was photoshopped, and that originally Edmund was holding onto a pole in the storm (remember the storm?).

    • Liberty Hoffman says:

I am positive that it is Rhindon! it looks exactly like it and since Peter gave Caspian his sword in the end of PC, Caspian probably has it on board as one of the great Narnian treasures (like Lucy's cordial)! 😀

  39. narnian resident says:

i think they could have done a little better on all three of the kids' faces. Lucy looks, um…a bit scary with her serious glare (no offense, she's also very pretty, i just dont like the super serious look on her face). i think they could have gotten a better angle of Eustace, cuz it kinda makes him look babyish in the banner with his squinting eyes and scowling face (although i suppose thats how Eustace should look like in the beginning, you know 🙂 ). Edmund's pic isnt so bad, but it just looks funny with his squinting eyes and open mouth, looking up, and the weird angle he's holding the sword in. but hey, i still absolutely love it cuz its Narnia! thats never gonna change 😀

  40. Vice says:

Great! but what happen to Lucy's eyes?? it's look weird

  41. Alambil and Tarvis says:

    OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now…all that needs to happen is for the trailer to come out!!!

  42. Personally I think they made Lucy look a little too grown up and dramatic and Ariel_of_Narnia I think you have made your point. We will just have to wait for the trailer and/or movie to understand what sword he has and why.

  43. Me says:

lol took me a while to work out it was lucy. lol, i was like who the hecks that?.

  44. TumnusTheBrave says:

i just realized that edmunds holding a sword. i thought it was like a pole on the ship(what r those called again?)just found out there was a dragon on that banner.

  45. On-Fire4God says:

    Ed's holding Rhindon.

  46. Destrier's Rider says:

Okay, here's my two cents' worth about Ed and Rhindon. The sword is DEFINATELY NOT Edmund's sword from the first two movies. Due to the fact that the only sword in the first two movies with a lion's head on the pommel is Rhindon and Peter gave Rhindon to Caspian it stands to reason that it could be Rhindon. Also, Caspian seems a bit unsure what to do when Peter gives it to him in PC. Maybe he thought it better to let Ed use it while he was there??
Also, the way Ed is holding it wouldn't hurt. He's got armor on his hand for one thing, and swords usually aren't very sharp (if they're sharp at all) that close the the hilt. Also, in movies, when someone holds a sword with their arm in that position, they almost always hold it right below the hilt like Ed is doing.

    • NarniaNerd says:

Sure, it wouldn't HURT to hold it like that, since he has the glove on, but it's still kind of a funny way to hold it.

  47. K. J. Hill says:

Aaaaaaaugh! Now I want to see it even more!!! Christmas is so far away!!!

  48. silverPhoenix says:

I was determined to not get excited about anything for VDT until I saw the film…but that went straight out the window when I saw these pics! I'm freakin' excited now! Go Narnia! WOOOOOO!!!!

  49. WHOOHOOO! That looks so majorly awesome!! Edmond looks cool but a little weird, I just can't put my finger on it.

  50. Omac the centaur says:

…Woe. is that georgie?? skandar looks cool but she looks different!

  51. Mapthestars says:

Lucy looks so much older now. Can't wait to see the film!

  52. 220chrisTian says:

Georgie = scary?! I like the way she looks on the banner. It's a classic, serious pose.

Skandar: hmm. Wet hair and a sword. I wish his pose were similar to Georgie's. lol

    Ben: I like. 😀

  53. 220chrisTian says:

Everybody: what is with some of you on Georgie in the banner? Her hair is back in a ponytail, that's all. Don't you remember the still from one of the official VDT blogs? Georgie on the ship deck with her in a ponytail? And let's not forget some of the filming pics from spy reports!

  54. iLiveInNarnia says:

Georgie is all grown up! Hardly recognized her! 😀 CANT WAIT! (TRAILER TO COME SOON..HOPING! hehehe)

  55. Narnia Dreamer says:

Wow! Lucy looks so much older on the poster. I saw some pictures recent pictures of her and she did not look at all like the picture on the poster. Anyway, I cannot wait for the trailer!!!

  56. Keyaan says:

"Will Poulter seems perfectly cast as their awful cousin, Eustace (although with a name like Eustace, the poor kid has some reason to act out)."

    XD

  57. Fire vein says:

Lucy looks so pretty!!! Edmund looks handsome, Eustace looks pouty and Caspian well, well looks slightly girly.

    • Narnia_Believer says:

I don't think Caspian looks girly just older. however, i am so mad. in the book it said that it was 3 narnian years befre lucy and them went back. but the producers are saying that it was 10!

  58. Jessica says:

Now I really hope that it also will have Sweden premiere at December 10th or else I'll DIE of waiting for it!!!!!!!!!

  59. Mal says:

WHOA… THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
