Two New Voyage of the Dawn Treader Images
MTV is showing two brand new images from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The first image shows Lucy, Edmund looking at some old documents, likely on the Lone Islands. The second is an image of the Lucy, Edmund, Eustace and Caspian on a beach.

They probably thought it was magical, like Susan's horn and Lucy's cordial. The batteries probably lasted so long because it was never used

yeah, that's the first thing I noticed, the torch… besides the fact it lookslike they're in some sort of belltower… that set looks *so* epic! =) I love the way it looks! =D

Unless batteries were drastically different in WW2 times, those things would be corroded and leaking battery acid. Certainly in no shape to light a flashlight.
It was the Narnian air! 😛 (Hey, it has a strengthening effect on everything else, why not the batteries??) I personally think it's lovely Ed's been reunited with his beloved torch, hee hee. And I love the costumes I'm seeing in all these pictures…just gorgeous, with obvious attention to detail. ONLY 100 DAYS LEFT!!!! 😀 <><
not in just 3 years…i'm the daughter of a power supply designer, and if put under the correct conditions, i.e.: kept cool and dry, then batteries can last a good long time.
I know! That's hilarious! A while ago, I was joking with my sister that Caspian would give Edmund his torch back and say, "I've found it very useful in my reign. Sorry though, it won't work anymore for some reason!" I can't believe we were right! 😀
my sister and I always said 'aw, they should use Ed's torch in VotDT, it' be so cool,' well, it did happen, didn't it?! 🙂

my first impression was Narrowhaven too, but why in the world would they be sneaking around looking at old books there? I have a feeling this has to do with the lost souls deal or something…it feels sinister.
Yeah, I don't know. I guessed it was Narrowhaven based on the rope hanging down.
Maybe they're just looking for the records of something that they need to get after Gumpas with. Can't wait to find out.

Sweet. I can't think of anything in the book that would go along with the first picture so it must be one of the new plots they added. The second one looks like the picture of the Pevensies in PC when they save Trumpkin. Keep the story of Aslan alive!!!
The first one appears to have a rope hanging from above in the background… Presumably they had to climb down it to get to wherever they are??

Well, they might actually BE matching, lol! If I can remember correctly from the book, Lucy just borrowe Caspian's clothes. He could very well have a couple of matching belts! XD Either way, the second image rocks – the 'new trend' of high pants, as you said, suits them! XD
The thing about the belts is probably true. I forgot that she borrows his clothes. But they fit so well! lol
if you go to the mtv site and look at the pictures, it looks like they mixed up the names and put anna popplewell instead of georgie henley ! i know anna is supposed to make a cameo, but i dont think her name it supposed to be mentioned with the main characters lol :O
and they mixed up will poulter with will mosley ! ahaha shows how much mtv watches these movies 😛

What are they looking at in the first picture??? I'm a little worried about that, since it's obviously not in the book. I really hope it's not too weird. I keep hearing people talk about the leaked script and strange plotlines that involve slavers and the stone knife and seven swords and a soul-eating cave of doom… It's okay if you don't know what I'm talking about. It's probably better not to know. 😉
Anyway, cool pictures. But I'm really curious what that document says in the picture…
Well, the slavers part actually happens in the book, I remember. So at least that's canon?
You're right, there are slavers in the book, and I won't mind if they're given a slightly bigger role at Narrowhaven. But I hope there aren't any silly added scenes like I heard about in the leaked script. And if the slavers DO slide down ropes in the bell tower (as it's rumored they'll do), I fervently hope it won't be too cheesy. The image in my mind's eye is pretty ridiculous right now…
and the stone knife and seven lords are part of it too. the seven lords are a BIG part of it! they are the reason for their quest. and there is a scene where they see the stone knife the Witch had killed Aslan with on the food table at Ramandu's island.

I didn't. I looked it up on the internet, and found a page where someone talks about it. And I've also been listening to all the Narniawebbers talk about it for months. I have too much time on my hands. 😉

Edmund's torch got left in Narnia. Obviously Caspian found it and brought it with him on the voyage then gave to Edmund once they appeared in Narnia.
(laughs happily through her tears). Aw, there's no hurt Narnia can't soothe! I was all upset, crying and feeling sorry for myself to no end, and then I saw the new pictures and I actually smiled. And I'm very glad Ed got his torch back! Good for him! At least things go right for SOMEONE even if they are a character from a fictional story.

Well, he could have left it in a place that made it easy to locate. And if they did find, you could be sure they would preserve it. After all, it is the only object they would have that had belonged to Pevensies.

Very interesting! Lucy and Caspian are wearing the same belt in the second picture… Except I think Lucy's is a bit more narrow. Eustace isn't in the first one either… I agree with the bell tower idea, because that rope looks awfully thick just to be for climbing down. Looks more like a bell rope to me.

Nice pictures. But honestly, can we get an "AMEN" that Caspian looks SO much hotter and mature in this than in Princ Caspian? Even if it has only been 3 Narnia years and 1 Earth year, so much better lol. And Edmund and Lucy definetly look more suitable. =)

Annnnd the infamous torch is back. I wonder why they did that. The batteries would for sure have died by then, and a torch would've served the purpose better while adding a fantasyish feel to the scene.

The only place this could be (going by the book) is the Lone Islands. I have an idea that it might be where Caspian learns that the Lone Islands have not paid their tribute to Narnia, but we don't know if that's even been preserved from book to movie, so I guess we'll just have to see.

I actually really, really like the inclusion of the torch. There's something so eerie and cool about technology from the 40's appearing in a scene that is otherwise completely medieval-looking. One of those "what's wrong with this picture?" moments.
I have no idea what kind of scene this will be in the movie, though. Staring reeeally hard at the shadowy piece of parchment facing the camera, it looks like the word "Ships" is written there, but yikes, it's hard to tell. I don't really understand the idea of sensitive documents being stored in a belltower, though. With the way they always seem to be ridden with pigeons or bats, it doesn't seem like the best place for protecting ancient books, lol.
As for the mysterious blue UFO beside Caspian, could that possibly be Lilliandil?
