Concept Art from Unfinished Narnia Adaptation by Looney Tunes Animator Chuck Jones

Many Narnia fans are familiar with the 1979 animated version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe adapted by Peanuts animator Bill Melendez, but did you know that one of the most famous animators behind Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies attempted to make a Narnia film, too?
Chuck Jones, best known for his multi-decade work with Warner Bros. Cartoons and the 1966 film How Grinch Stole Christmas!, was attached to direct and produce a television adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia in the 1960s and 1970s.
The project was never greenlit, but Jones’ pre-production concept art remains, leaving behind an intriguing glimpse of what might have been.

This is so cool! The concept art is really interesting. I think if it had been made I would have liked this animated film better than the one we already have.
Not a fan. Way too “bugs-bunny” to take seriously.
