Netflix’s ‘Narnia’ Filming Inside 900-Year-Old Anglican Church in London

NarniaWeb has learned that St. Bartholomew the Great, a 900-year-old Anglican Church in London, has been serving as a filming location for Netflix and Greta Gerwig’s upcoming adaptation of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. Production has reportedly been taking place over the past week.
According to the church’s official website, St. Bartholomew’s has been closed to the public since September 9th and is scheduled to reopen on September 18th. At this time, it is not known which scenes are being filmed.
The historic church has appeared in several major films, including Avengers: Age of Ultron, Snow White and the Huntsman, 2009’s Sherlock Holmes, and Michael Apted’s Amazing Grace.

This is a developing story. We’ll update this page if new information becomes available.
If it weren’t for the brighter and more Roman-esque design elements of Jadis’ costume, I’d be absolutely certain this is for Charn.
The vibe is just spot-on for what I imagined Charn looking like in the book. However I guess it’s always possible that the church is being used as an actual church in the movie!
Please be Charn, please be Charn!!
It does remind me a lot of Pauline Bayne’s illustrations of Charn (especially the image of Digory and Polly standing as small figures in the courtyard when they first arrive in Charn). I too hope it’s Charn!
Everyone is saying it’s Charn!
It’ll be fascinating to hear whether they are using 65mm to shoot some select sequences because the reels of film in the behind the scenes are all vertical
Maybe it’s NOT Charn!
Considering two things.
1. They have done a lot of on-site filming in London for MN thus far.
2. Jadis looks like she walked out of a 50s sci-fi movie, not an Anglican church.
I don’t think this is for Charn. But we shall seeeeee……
