In this episode of Talking Beasts: The Narnia Podcast, the podcasters look back on a wild year on NarniaWeb in which details about Greta Gerwig’s Narnia adaptation finally started to emerge… slowly.
I hope the animatronic talking animals in the movie will have intelligent facial expressions. C. S. Lewis stresses that that’s a difference between talking beasts and nontalking beasts. “You could see by the expression in their faces that they could talk and think just as well as you could.” That’s hard to do with puppets.
I will say this for Mark Ronson. I felt like his music for the Barbie movie served it better than Alexandre Desplat’s music for Gerwig’s Little Women served that movie even though Desplat is more the kind of composer I’d want for Narnia.
