David McKenna and Carey Mulligan Nominated for Gotham TV Awards

Two actors attached to Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Narnia film project have been nominated for Gotham TV awards. View the full list here.

David McKenna (Digory), has been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Limited or Anthology Series for his role in Lord of the Flies on Netflix. He will play the iconic role of Piggy in that series. This nomination makes David McKenna one of the youngest nominees in Gotham Television Awards’ short history.

Yet another actor attached to the project, Carey Mulligan, has been nominated for the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Limited or Anthology Series award for her role in Beef on Netflix. Mulligan is believed to be playing Digory’s mother in the upcoming Narnia movie.

    Based on everything I’ve seen of David McKenna in LotF, and all the high praise that everyone has spoken of him with, I really think we are in for a stellar breakout performance in Magician’s Nephew.

    He kind of reminds me of Will Poulter, where even at such a young age it was clear he was going to go on and have a massive career.

    i think that through May/June we’ll get a flurry of Narnia news. my prediction:

    · First poster, title reveal or teaser trailer

    ·More casting info
    · promo marketing in front of other PG summer movies(Moana in particular because of its epic feel)

    I hope that offical news comes earlier, but im trying to think in real terms.
