Deluxe Hardcover Slipcase Edition of The Chronicles of Narnia Coming in November

HarperCollins have announced a “7-in-1 Deluxe Hardcover Slipcase” edition of The Chronicles of Narnia that will be releasing in November as part of the ongoing 75th Anniversary Celebrations.

This new release follows hot on the heels of the similarly titled “Deluxe Edition” which was announced back in May and is due for release this October.

The new Slipcase Edition not only features an additional fabric slipcase, but also includes a faux suede spine and a new cover art design with matte lamination, foil, and embossing. You can take a look at this new collected edition in three dimensions via the video below:

This latest Narnia release marks a continuation of HarperCollins’ full catalogue refresh during this 75th Anniversary year, during which they have already announced:

2025 marks 75 years since the publication of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe on October 16, 1950.

It is an honor for books to be in print continuously for 75 years. Thank you, Douglas Gresham, for keeping Lewis’ works in print.

    Looks splendid!

I’ll gladly buy a copy if the books are in publication order.

  4. This looks beautiful!

Not worth $150 compared to the standard “deluxe” one that was announced a while back.

  6. Breeze says:

What order are they in? If it’s chronological, I’m not interested.

    My precioussss….

Most editions of Narnia in one volume have the stories in chronological order. Even if it is a hardcover edition I think $150 is much too high a price for the book. The publishers are probably more interested in making money than having a beautiful book of the stories available to the public.

There is a trend to sell fancy versions. I’ve been tempted to buy a leather cover version of LotR for a year now… But I feel more comfortable reading paperbacks because if a book is too fancy I don’t want to handle it too much and crack the book’s spine or rub the gold lettering off.

I know it’s unpopular here, but I like chronological order better.

The amount of hate that chronological order gets is a bit much. They’re all still the same books, and you’ve read them all already; it shouldn’t factor into the decision to buy new editions.

I like all the new editions and covers this year. Makes me happy to see Narnia being celebrated and promoted!
