Daniel Craig Finally Confirms ‘Narnia’ Involvement

Nearly seven months after he was first rumored for the role of Uncle Andrew in Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of The Magician’s Nephew, British actor Daniel Craig has finally confirmed his involvement during an interview with Deadline on the red carpet of his latest film ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’ which was receiving its European premiere on the opening night of the London Film Festival.
Whilst he stopped short of confirming his role, or offering any other details about the project, he did mention that filming so far had been “great” and “amazing”.
In addition to Craig, ‘Narnia’ director Greta Gerwig was also present on the red carpet for the third installment of Netflix’s ‘Knives Out’ series, and was apparently seated alongside Craig’s ‘Narnia’ co-star Emma Mackey during the event.
Daniel Craig becomes just the fourth member of the cast to be officially confirmed for the film so far, alongside Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, and Denise Gough.
Exciting!
I am glad to hear that Daniel Craig is officially going to be in Narnia! Hopefully it is as Uncle Andrew as rumoured, but it would also be great if he were the voice of Aslan too – that however would appear to be less likely considering from that article it would seem he’s been acting on set. I think he’d make a great addition to the cast – a very versatile actor.
So all the rumoured actors have so far been true , which makes me think Meryl will be part of the film in some form. It’s driving me crazy knowing that Aslan has been cast but we don’t know who it is!
