Afterwards, The Hollywood News caught up with the three actors and chatted with them briefly about The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

THN: [What’s it like working with Michael Apted?] A legendary director.

Will: Exactly, a legendary director and for someone as young as me to get to work with anyone like that is incredible. I feel so lucky and he is an amazing director and he gave us a lot of laughs on set as well, and also helped us particularly with the emotional scenes and the things that are quite hard. Iโ€™m quite young and to be taught to act by someone like thatโ€ฆ well you couldn;t ask for more or work under a more talented director. We were very lucky.

THN: Have you seen the finished product yet?

Will: I have yeah. Itโ€™s a bit bizarre watching it actually but it brings back all of the happy memories of six months in Australia. reall cool. Really enjoyed it.

THN: So Ben, tell us all about itโ€ฆ what can we expect from the next Narnia film?

Ben: Well, I just saw it last week, and I think itโ€™s my favourite actually. Itโ€™s got a lot of the kid of magic in and the fairy tale elements that The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe had, and some of the awe and wonder of that, but also some of the action and adventure from the second film. Itโ€™s also got a Jason and the Argonauts, old school adventure story feel to it too so yes. Itโ€™s really, really fun and easy to watch. Thereโ€™s so much happening and every second [is exciting]. Itโ€™s great that itโ€™s coming out at Christmas too. Itโ€™s going to be a really special family blockbuster I hope.

THN: So, Voyage of the Dawn Treader?

Georgie: Yes, I think that Voyage of the Dawn Treader is going to be the best of the last two films put together. Lucy is a lot more of a teenager. We see her being a bit more human. I wouldnโ€™t say darker, but you see the kind of side to her that most teenage girtls get around her age. So, I think it is going to be very good for the wide-spread public. I think that itโ€™s going to be great!

THN: So have you seen it in all of its 3D glory yet?

Georgie: I have only seen it in 2D. I am really excited about seeing it at the premiere in 3D. The Queen is going to be there soโ€ฆ very excited!

The full interview is available here.

To everybody who sent in links and pictures, thank you so much!

So cool! Very good for VDT.

  2. Nieke says:

It looks SO amazing! Same for Georgie who looks beautiful and so mature, love it.

  3. Aslan's Meadow says:

Great news for VDT. Only one month to go!!! Can you belive it!

  4. "Lucy is a lot more of a teenager. We see her being a bit more human."

At first I was ready to flinch at that — but then I realized she is right. Lucy of the "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" book is much the same way, most notably when it comes to the beauty spell in the Magician's Book. To enhance that somewhat in the film version doesn't bother me.

Thus, I think my reaction was based on me still being on-edge about the Seven Swords Quest addition. ๐Ÿ™ However, the last trailer did emphasize Aslan's Country, not the invented "quest."

My hope all along was that Aslan's Country would be the main theme. Perhaps it is after all. ๐Ÿ˜€

I know that this may sound REALLY dumb, but who is Joe McElderly?

He won X Factor. not dumb at all – I haven't heard him sing yet:)

  8. LL says:

So the Royal Premiere IS going to be in 3D? Woah!

  9. McGunn says:

Hm, the ligths look rather bland – not "my kind" of Christmas ligths, but still I guess they should be blue to look like water. Or are the Christmas lights always blue in Regents St?

Still, great to see the actors again – can't wait to see some more interview videos

As i recall, Skandar grew so much he had to be re-fitted six times for armore for the first movie.

  39. NarniaHannah says:

I flinched too, until I realized that's the way book lucy was.

  40. Reepicheep says:

I'm slowly starting to have the impression that they have it in the bag this time.

  41. Feather~Light~Heart says:

Heh definitly must have grown – Will that is. Some of the earlier picturs of the production show Will and Georgie together, and they are about the same height. Here Will looks about as tall as Ben, and Georgie is wearing heals even.

  42. aslan4ever says:

    woww……… Skandar ??' Where are you ???

  43. Annabeth says:

*screams* this is SO AWESOME! Will is so cute, i know he'll do a great job as Eustace. Georgie looks really pretty and Ben….um, what's with the hair? lol, this is so exciting. Where's Skandar????
    I would've given anything to be there……:(

  44. Tauriel says:

I really hate how the Christmas decorations are always up in shops and streets so ridiculously early (hello, people, Advent is NOT Christmas yet! And in turn, Christmas season does NOT end with New Year's Day…), but the lights on Regent Street are always beautiful.

  45. Alambil and Tarvis says:

My friend is studying in England right now and I think I'm going to make him take a trip to London just to get pics of the light display for me. ๐Ÿ˜€
