SciFi Channel interviews Tilda Swinton

In this interview, Ms. Swinton explained that the upcoming movie “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” won’t be a special effects extravaganza, but will be “very, very classical and mythical.”

An excerpt from the article:

“So [Andrew Adamson]’s trying to give children a fresh palette, where you have real people and real creatures, rather than endless, endless special effects,” Swinton added. “Of course there will be special effects in the film, but it’s going to be much less special-effects-heavy than so many films we’ve seen in the last 10 years. And I think that’s very good for children’s eyes. I think that’s good for all of our eyes, actually. So that’s what I mean when I say I think it will be classical. I think it will be very simple and straightforward and, not exactly reverent, but enthusiastic. It’s certainly going to be a film made by a fan of the book.”
