Walden Media to Produce ‘City of Beasts’

Walden Media has recently aquired rights to Isabel Allende’s trilogy which begins with the book City of Beasts. “Walden Media’s commitment to collaborate with world-class authors and great children’s literature continues with our partnership with Isabel Allende,” said Walden Media’s executive vice president of production, Alex Schwartz. The story is about a young 15-year-old adventurer named Alexander Cold and his comrade 12-year Nadia Santos. While spending the summer with his grandmother who was hired to write an article on the “Yeti of the Amazon”, the two teens get kidnapped, and discover the mythical city of El Dorado and encounter the curious “Beasts”. Barrie Osborne (Lord of the Rings) is producing, and David Rothenberg is co-producing and adapting the HarperCollins novels. From Cinema Blend.
