Walden and Weta to Adapt ‘Water Horse’

It was announced today that Walden Media, Beacon Pictures, and Revolution Studios will produce Dick King-Smith’s critically-acclaimed novel “The Water Horse” as a big-screen adaptation. The special effects for the film will be done by Weta Digital and Weta Workshop. Jay Russell will direct. “The Water Horse” tells the story of a lonely boy in Scotland who finds a mysterious egg from which hatches a ’water horse’ — a mythical sea monster of Scottish legend. The film is expected to begin production this summer in New Zealand and Scotland. Read the press release here.
