Trufflehunter

HarperCollins has recently launched its official Prince Caspian Facebook page. There are plenty of great tidbits for Narnia fans — including our first look at Trufflehunter! — and we decided to take a closer look at the page’s features.

Prince Caspian: Join the Battle Application — When you add this application to your Facebook profile, you’ll be able to answer trivia questions from Prince Caspian and the other Narnia books to gain points and earn access to exclusive content from the upcoming movie. You’ll get to choose which of several characters from Prince Caspian that you’d like to be. Some questions are very easy (“What is the last name of Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy?”), but others are a bit challenging if you haven’t read all the books! As you answer the questions correctly, new content (wallpapers, buddy icons, etc. from the upcoming film) is unlocked for you. The more questions you answer correctly, the higher your ranking among the site’s fans.

Prince Caspian Widget — This widget has a countdown, trivia, trailer, and book tabs, and links to HarperCollins’ Discover Narnia site and Sweepstakes offer.

Nor surprisingly, the page also has the Prince Caspian trailer uploaded to the Videos section. There is a section where you can add fan photos, and another section for fan reviews. These sections are geared more for use after the film is released.

The Prince Caspian Sweepstakes offers fans the chance to win a trip to attend the Prince Caspian premiere on May 7, 2008 in New York City. There will be additional prizes including Prince Caspian video games, toys, books and more. Read more about it here.

The Prince Caspian Facebook page is part of HarperCollins’ international “read it before you see it” campaign for the upcoming movie produced by Walden Media. HarperCollins is the publisher for The Chronicles of Narnia and has brought out several Prince Caspian movie tie-in editions of the classic book. As the movie comes out in two months (or 2 months, 3 days, and 12 hours according to the widget!), fans have plenty of time to read the book before seeing the film.
