Disney Secures Video on Demand Deals with European Countries

From C21Media.net:

Disney has secured a further two video on demand deals, following yesterday’s ad-VoD deal with Canadian broadcaster CityTV. Portugal’s telco Sonaecom has signed a transactional video on demand (T-VoD) agreement with Disney for current and library movies on its Clix SmarTV IPTV service. The deal will allow viewers to stream current movies and library titles on a rental basis, including new titles such as Disney/Pixar animation Wall-E, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and There Will Be Blood.

Disney-ABC-ESPN Television has also closed a second European VoD deal, this time with Kabel Plus in Central Europe. The multi-year agreement covers Walt Disney Studios current and library movie titles for rent on Kabel Plus’s PC video on demand service Metoo, which is available in both Czech Republic and Slovakia (metoo.cz and metoo.sk). Headline titles in the agreement include Wall-E, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, National Treasure: The Book of Secrets and There Will Be Blood.
