Its it just me, or does Reep look…not as good as the Caspian Reep? He looks like a stuff mouse. No life or character in him. Oh, and wasn't he darker in PC too?

  2. narnian1 says:

I love Reepicheep! Looks good to me!

  3. K says:

    *Is it

  4. Melissa says:

Regal as always. Fluffier feather and is it just me or does his fur look a bit lighter?

  5. K says:

    *stuffed

    Wow, lots of mistakes today

  6. Watziznehm says:

"Older" was my first impression. Still looks great though!

  7. GPLovesNarnia says:

Well, Reep's supposed to be three years older, and although Narnians live longer than non-Talking Beasts, they still don't live as long comparatively to other animals.
So maybe the effects people (I'm pretty sure it's the same people as PC, right?) took that into consideration.
Or maybe it's just for this sign. Who knows? 🙂

  8. narnia fan 7 says:

Reepicheep look awesome!! I hope the trailer come's soon.

  9. HE LOOKS GREAT! That's awesome! He looks just like our cute (cough cough…excuse me noble :P) Reepicheep from Prince Caspian! I did notice though that they made his fur a bit greyer and lighter. His eyes though are stunning! I really love this! This get's me excited for VOTD to come out!

Sail on Dawn Treader! Thank yo so much Narniaweb for giving up these updates… and so faithfully too!

  10. Wow. Reep looks great. I do like him dark and all (battles are ugly affairs when Reepicheep is white), but he's not light enough for it to bother me. He looks very *real*. To me, though, he looks younger, rather than older.

  11. I wonder…does this mean the news drought is nearly over? *hopes, hopes, hopes*

  12. Luis Daniel says:

omg Reep looks awsome. This is one of my favorites characters in the series( Long live Aslan) So im so exited to see the movie and buy the dvd. Narnia u r the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Liberty Hoffman says:

he definitly looks good, but a bit different then in PC…..

  14. HighQueenofNarnia says:

To me, Reep looks a little older, a little bigger, a little darker, a little more reserved, and just as courageously courteous and chivalrous as ever!
And, K, this is a still photo, so perhaps that's the reason that he doesn't look as lively (he looks just a tad reserved). Can't wait to see Reep in action! (If they don't make him swashbuckling then I will bite my lip and grind my teeth in frustration! Simultaneously, which is kind of difficult and really hurts!)

  15. Caspian says:

Hmmm…red feather good. Me like. Dark fur would be better, but hey, at least he's British and not Chinese or something (I mean, they did make Caspian Spanish…)

    DAWN TREADER OR BUST!!!!

  16. glumPuddle says:

Not a fan of the lighter fur.

  17. Mike says:

Reepicheep is older in VDT – to expect his appearance to be unchanged from PC would be in correct. Thus his lighter fur. And is it just me or do his eyes look like they received more detail, like Aslan's did between LWW and PC?

  18. Melissa says:

The only rational explination for Reep's lighter fur is that maybe being out on the deck in the sun all day would lighten his fur. Don't know if that concept applies to animals?

  19. elanor says:

Reep looks wonderful! It could be that he only appears lighter…the "sun" is shining directly on his back and side which gives the impression that his fur is lighter.

    I love that deep-sea blue blackground…

  20. Hmm. Extreme lighting can make fur look light. I doubt the film version will look a lot like this.

The fur is a bit… fuller. What bugs me the most, though, is the eyelids. They're very… protruded. More so than the Caspian version. Could just be the picture.

I'm definitely hating the massive, bolded 3-D. Good gryphons… I'm going to be so annoyed with the oncoming marketing campaign.

The last thing I want to say about Reep… THANK GOODNESS THE FUR ISN'T WHITE! Remember forever ago when we were actually stressing about that? Ahh, the not so good old days. 😉

  21. Waleed Sajjad Khan says:

    yay more news!!!! getting closer!!!

  22. Puddleglum says:

The lighter fur just means he is showing a little more grey. Age seems to have caught up with the little fellow.

  23. meldred says:

If I remember correctly, most of the shots of Reep in PC were dimly lit or forested scenes. Assuming this shot is taken from aboard the Dawn Treader, it will be a much brighter and therefore lighter shot. Just a thought. Regardless, I like the added detail and I like de-tail (jk – couldn't resist).

  24. greenbird37 says:

Love the look Reepicheep! Its awesome!

  25. tolkienlewisfan says:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ENOUGH DIGITAL 3D!! JUST BECAUSE AVATAR DID WELL DOES NOT MEAN EVERYONE SHOULD COPY! !@$!#%#!#%#%!#

  26. ah! awesome!! I like it better than the PC Reep!!!!! the detail ROCKS!!! just look at those eyes, wow!

  27. Edmund-is-hot says:

:O Ohhhh, so exciting! I have to say he definately looks different, but I guess that might be his aging. Except in PC he was more CGI, and here he looks stuffed. But still he looks great..and cute. 🙂

  28. Tauriel says:

Well, obviously he's a bit lighter – if you look closer, it's just him getting a bit of grey fur (especially around the mouth and head). Which is good, considering that he's older, and it would also tie in nicely with the new voice of Bill Nighy. So I like it. And let's be honest, Reep's colour is not such a huge deal anyway.

  29. Sir Jack says:

Aaahhh.. he should be much much darker! and I think He looks differnt… 3 years older.. kind of… 🙂 I like him, but I do wish he was darker…

  30. Starlily says:

Okay, people might throw things at me, but I honestly don't think Reep's fur is lighter. I think it's just the full light on his back. But then again it might be just my computer–or my eyes. 😉
But anyway I don't think we should get worked up about Reepicheep's color on the first picture we get of him. It's just a still shot, and he might not look exactly like that in the movie. Just my opinion.

Besides as long as his new voice works out, I won't really care what color he is. (As long as he's not white or spotted 😛 )

  31. Aravis Narnia says:

I like the use of Reepicheep. After all, he is a mouse!

Hopefully they will have a non-3D option as well.

  32. Reepicheep is nice, but I was hoping for a poster of the Dawn Treader itself.

  33. Nathan says:

In Prince Caspian, Mark Johnson said that they made a mistake by making it a darker film.

So in this film, they're going to make everything lighter, even Reepicheep's fur.

  34. A_Narnian_Ship says:

I agree. That might account for the "lighter" fur people were commenting on(though it's really not that light). I think he's so cute!

  35. Narniamiss says:

Who's getting worked up? I don't think anyone is quite yet. 😉 I think you may be right about the sun hitting his back, though.

  36. Narniamiss says:

I actually think he looks quite good; as if he's been out in the sun a bit. He also looks a bit older.

  37. Beth says:

I think the his fur only looks lighter because of the direct sunlight hitting him. If you look at his feet, they're several shades darker than his back. So he'll probably be lighter, but not as light as he looks in the picture.

  38. Omac the centaur says:

yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! news. rep! VDT! Looking great! he looks like rep, so Im good with that as long as he has some action. do u think they will have ANY fight scenes?? *hoping 4 at lest 1 fight/chase/some kind of action scene* 😀

  39. Omac the centaur says:

Haha! ya that is hard and does hurt! (trying it as we comment!)

  40. FriendOfNarnia2 says:

haha…Maybe Dark Island will be a great big blob of white light.

  41. Andreya of Narnia says:

I have to admit I was afraid Reepicheep would look different. But thankfully they've kept close to the PC Reepicheep. I just hope the new voice works well too… 😉

I'm pretty sure that the "light colored fur" is because of the angle the light is hitting Reep. I'm sure all will be okay. 😉

  42. Lucy says:

Aw, Reep's so CUTE! I just wanna hug him!

  43. boke_wyrm says:

He does look different: notice the goatee beard under his muzzle, perhaps to give him a real 'dashing cavalier' look, maybe less like a cartoon and more like a real mouse. I admit it was jarring at first, but I do believe it is a better for this film. In PC he was a something of a comical sidekick. In this story he is the most ardent seeker after Aslan's Country. I think this image will work wonderfully with Bill Naghy's voice.

  44. RuralNarniaFan says:

O-mi-gawsh some news finally! Reep's looking good… very real! I wonder when we'll get any spoilers. D:

  45. Carrie says:

I just had an awful thought! What if in the movie Reep dies of old age? Don't mice only live for about 4 years? Though maybe since he's a talking mouse he would live longer…

  46. Have you not read the books???

  47. NarnianHarper says:

I sure hope they animate his sword stances and moves more crisply and accurately. In PC this deadly knight was waving his needle around like a two-year-old!

  48. Going4God says:

    'HOPE NOT!

  49. MurtaghLuv says:

Like reep in better in pc, but still looks good

  50. ernesto says:

I would like that the character of Reepicheep out 3D Digital and if so good that should be and tambn you for sending a poster gachito bye.

  51. ernesto says:

I would like that the character of Reepicheep out 3D Digital and if so good that should be and also thanks for sending a small piece of poster bye.

  52. Reepicheep, Knight of Narnia says:

Okay, I was really curious as to whether or not Reep's fur is lighter. So, how could I find out? I went and got my copy of PC and plugged in into my computer. I watched the battle until I found a close up shot of Reep and paused it. It had to be the battle, because that's the only scene that Reep is in the sun. So this is what I decided:
First of all, Reep wasn't in full sunlight in PC. Kind of more in the shadows. On this shot he is in full sunlight. That, of course, is bound to make him look a little lighter. So we can't really base our opinions off of that. Instead, I looked for something a little more concrete. Reep does, in fact, have white around his muzzle in PC. So that part's all right.
Second, look at the shadows on him. They're pretty dark, aren't they? They're darker than Reep's fur was in PC. So, what does that prove? I've never been on the ocean before, but I imagine that on a clear, summer day that shadows would be dark and sharp, and most certainly shadows. On the other hand, I have been in a cave before, like Aslan's How. When there was just a teeny little bit of sunlight left, everything (skin, hair, clothes, everything) looked darker than it really was, and it didn't really look like shadows at all, but that's what it was. They just weren't nearly as dark as shadows are on a bright, sunny day outside.
In conclusion, I think Reep was in the dark and shadows too much in PC. This time around we get to see him in his true colors.

  53. GlimGlum says:

It's Reepicheep and he looks good enough to me. Sail on VDT! 🙂

  54. Lady Galadriel says:

It looks to me like Reep's color has actually been lightened, not just a different light angles. But it's so close that I don't mind. (It's not like he got turned white!)

  55. Eliseo says:

I cant believe such a big deal is being made about the fur color. I dont think its a big deal if its a bit lighter; and for the record I dont think its going to be lighter anyways. Anyone notice that Reepicheep is facing forward? Everyone knows that an animals fur is lighter in the front and on their tummy than in the back. And he is also in the sun.

  56. QueenLucy12 says:

Ok, I see that 1.he is alittle fatter 2.yes reep. in the sunlight in the picture thats probably why his fur is lighter (and alittle lighter becuz of ageing) 3.he has more detail! BUT the thing that I'm worried about is his voice. I still don't know what to think about that… i kinda wish they kepted eddie for this movie and just make his voice lower i guess, like they do with other stuff. I love the picture but it needs more detail in it! but I LOVE The blue sea look!!!!!

  57. RuralNarniaFan says:

They're going to make his fur white in the final production. *snicker-snicker* 😉
