VBS Meets VDT
Group Publishing, Walden Media, and 20th Century Fox have teamed up and put together a Vacation Bible School package called ‘Fun for the Whole Family’ Hour.
Fun-for-the-Whole-Family Hour combines the excitement of VBS with the thrilling adventure of Narnia in an experience that gets all ages connecting with each other and with God.
It’s one action-packed hour where the families in your church can talk, laugh, share, discuss Scripture, and worship together–and watch never-before-seen clips from the latest Narnia adventure. This film explores family-friendly themes like grace and transformation, giving families the chance to look at God’s transforming love in a new way.
Featuring FREE exclusive clips from the upcoming Narnia movie The Voyage of the Dawn Treader!
The leader pack will be available to ship June 1, 2010. Do you know what this means NarniaWebbers? VDT clip are less than two months away! UPDATE: The VBS package will be available June 30th instead of June 1st as was previously reported.

My thoughts exactly! We oughtn't to underestimate the power of church publicity.
My church uses Group, maybe they will actually have VBS this year.
Although GlumPuddle might be right in saying "event" because VBS is an event for kids. But the organizers/teachers at a VBS event have to have bought this material in order to see it at a VBS week.

I totally agree! Hope this isn't just a publicity stunt but also a good use of C.S.Lewis's Christian hints in the books, to bring glory to Jesus.

I think this will be a good Christian thing. There was a clip with the President of Walden or
Fox media talking about this program. He mentioned how much fun his kids had at vbs and all. I do not think we will have to worry Group is a great set of people and my mom has even worked with some of them vie telephone.
This is more of a followup or family fun night than a VBS from the material I have looked at.
I love VBS and will help whether we use this or not. This just like an added bonus!

I love to help with VBS, so I'll do it either way!
I must say, the only reason I saw LWW in theaters, (we generally wait until the video comes out since that's cheaper)was that Focus on the Family, a lot of churches, and some friends said it was good. Commercials rarely convince me to see a movie.
This is exciting, hopefully it will mean they're keeping Aslan's lines in!

My memories of Vacation Bible School are really good; I loved it. Please don't be so sarcastic. It makes things really unpleasant, so keep your so-called 'memories' to yourself. No one wants to hear them.

I think that this is a great way for Christians to share thier faith with others. And especailly with VDT!! I know alot of families who are looking forward to this-mine included!

Other ways to help include making things for sets, or different lessons. You might consider fundraising, the lesson/curriculum is not always cheap, and some churches have limited funds.
I think I'll be buying that without a doubt….

Fascinating. It seems to me that the people at Fox are learning why LWW succeeded, and PC didn't: Disney first advertised through word-of-mouth, to the people who love Narnia best–Christians, not the teenager popcorn crowd, not the action-adventure crowd.

AWESOMENESS!! I love how well they're doing at getting the film publicized–it's a hard task to do without the brilliant marketing strategies of Disney, but Fox & Walden are pulling it off wonderfully. 🙂 Let's hope this draws in more viewers!
