Narnia Producer Perry Moore Found Dead

It is with great sadness that we report the news today that Narnia producer Perry Moore has died. He was found unconscious on Thursday morning from an apparent overdose and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter by paramedics.

Perry Moore was a producer on the Narnia films and especially involved with the production of the The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He was the author of the official movie companion. Since working on the Narnia films, he wrote and directed Lake City and authored a book ‘Hero’.

On a personal note, I’ve met Perry Moore several times and knew him as a fantastic human being: incredibly kind and thoughtful. He will be missed. Please join NarniaWeb as we offer our condolences to his family.

  4. Wow… First off, I was shocked and saddened that he died. And second, I was equally surprised that he was actively gay and took drugs while holding his high position at Walden Media (especially after hearing that Focus on the Family interview).

  26. Boke_Wyrm says:

Aslan's Country said it was Oxycontin, a prescription pain reliever. The overdose was likely accidental. Paul Martin at NarniaFans says he was a believer. I pray to meet him someday, and that in the meantime, "Let us be good to one another".

  27. NarniaFan10000 says:

Im sorry, I never really knew the guy though…I focused more on the narnian series, and very little on Andrew Adamson, but now he's gone and the films are much better. I'm not happy the producer died…I have much enjoyed his works of art, and will miss them dreading that he will not be able to continue working on the Narnia series. But I'm sure he was saved and will be very glad to see him some day.

  28. NarniaFan10000 says:

I'm sure it was not suicide. He was the producer of Narnia! He had everything going for him, just look at the money production from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. He had to have had millions of dollars, along with perhaps a loving wife and kids….I see no reason to commit suicide in that scenerio. Besides wouldn't he have at least left a note to his wife and kids saying how much he loved them? I definately would have before I would commit suicide, and I'm sure Perry would've too. Even though I don't know him very well, I know men, I am one of them…. lol

  29. Elea says:

    I'm so sorry πŸ™

Did anyone notice in this article about Perry Moore that he apparently told his family the night before that he had just secured financing for an adaptation of "The Magician's Nephew"??!!

My deepest condolences. May the Lord be with his family in this very difficult time. I personally just went through seeing my mom struggle about the death of a loved one because of an overdose, although in this case it sounded as though it may have been an accident. . . it is obviously a very tragic and hard battle for the family.

My deepest condolences to Mr. Perry Moore and his family. He really worked hard to make the Narnia franchise successful, especially LWW. Now I'm afraid of Narnia's future as a film adaptation.

Does anyone know if any of the actors were informed of his death?
