Netflix Seeking to Hire Narnia Marketing Consultant

According to reporting by Puck News, Warner Bros marketing chief Joshua Goldstine has been offered the role of “marketing consultant” for Netflix’s Narnia project, should he depart Warner Bros as part of an ongoing Executive shake-up.
Regardless of whether Goldstine takes the role or not, it indicates that Netflix not only intends to recruit a specific marketing role for Narnia, but that they intend to invest significantly in marketing the project ahead of release, something Netflix has not often done with previous film projects; preferring instead to wait until content is available on the platform and relying on online word-of-mouth.
Joshua Goldstine was instrumental in coordinating Barbie’s highly successful marketing campaign and so will be no stranger to working with Greta Gerwig.
It was also previously reported as part of the Netflix/IMAX deal, that both companies had made a commitment towards marketing the film and that a significant amount of money had been allocated for the task.
Interesting, Barbie was Advertised Everywhere and look a Success it turned out to be. It would be Interesting to see Narnia have the same Success as Barbie did, Even see it go to the Oscars.
Netflix is treating Narnia as a big deal it should be. Happy to see this!
I know this news might seem like a small detail in the grand scheme of things, but I think it signifies a lot – chiefly that Netflix is committed to the idea of Narnia as a work of Cinema, and not just as a peice of “content”
They are here to do this properly, and it shows.
I’m constantly surprised at the level of investment and attention a Narnia movie is getting in 2025, when 2 out of the 3 movies lost money!
I guess it shows that the series is more ingrained into our societies’ collective mind than I realised.
The hype is real, and not a frame has been shot yet. This is cool to see. Whether the film is good or not, it looks like it’s going to be a big deal. In the end, it should at the least bring more readers to the books.
Taking Narnia so seriously is another sign of Greta’s extreme respect for C S Lewis
@Netflix Narnia Updates, oh, do you think she recommend Goldstine to Netflix? I wouldn’t normally think of a director recommending a marketing guy to a studio but if she worked with him before, I guess it’s likely enough.
Netflix getting a marketing consultant? Yes please!
Wait. So this means people will actually hear about the movie prior to it coming out?! Now there’s a shocking idea, Netflix. Good on you!
I don’t know most about Netflix movies unless it’s recommended to me by my friends or family members. I wonder if that’s because they make so many movies it’s hard to market them all? Who knows. But I’m glad to hear they’re trying something different for Narnia. Hopefully it’ll be a smashing success!
We need Timothy Dalton as Aslan
