The Mysterious Little… Boy?
Over the past week or two, the forum has been buzzing with speculation on who the Mysterious Little Girl (Gael) is, and where she fits into the story. Is she a freed slave? Is she Rhince’s daughter? Why is she on the ship during the dragon attack? What does the damaged railing have to do with it? Who is “mommy”? Nothing is certain.
Just when we thought it couldn’t get more confusing, the Goldcoast.com.au reports that the Mysterious Little Girl is actually played by a boy, Jorel Reynolds. Read the story here. It is possible that Reynolds is just the MLG’s stunt double. Let the speculation continue!
UPDATE!: Looks like Goldcoast.com.au has edited their story to clear up the conclusion: It now clearly says that Reynolds “has landed his first stunt-double role.” Sorry, Shakespeare fans. Reynolds will just be doing the stunts.

The explanation given by Glim Glum, that the girl has done a basic jump onto a mattress, and the boy has done the jump into the water, makes good sense to me!

For a minute there, I was like "WHAT THE…?" And then I read the story….
I think it's pretty much made very clear that the boy is ONLY the stunt double. The scenes without stunts (Which are most of them) are played by a girl. 🙂

I thought something was missing when I saw the story last night. I have always thought Gael was more than a bit part, which is why she was apparently cast early rather than by the "casting call." ("Gael's Mum" is listed in the casting call, but not Gael.) Doing stunts is not always about the danger of the stunt or even the fears or ability of the actor. Sometimes it is a legal issue. In the 1995 "Pride and Prejudice" miniseries, Colin Firth was not permitted by insurance to do a simple dive into a lake; the lake had some weird stuff in it. They hired a stunt double.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Georgie at one point had a male stunt double, very briefly. Towards the end of "PC", when she finally meets Aslan, her horse rears up, and the fall was done by a guy. Georgie said in the commentary that she had a riding double, Hannah, and then a guy came in to do the fall; they had a picture together in costume, and Georgie said that he said, "Look at me, all proud to be a girl."
perhaps the person on the ship with georgie really was a girl, maybe the " stunt" they r talking about is somthing after the "jumping scene", maybe, like, she's falling into the water or somthing? ( i don't know, just guessing)
Yeah, my guess is that the boy will be use for the footage of Gael actually hitting the water. Like a shot from behind. But, the Gael in the video is definitely a girl. 🙂

I saw behind the scenes on that. I didn't hear that in particular, but I knew that they used a horse contraption for the close-up shots of Georgie during that scene. Since the close-up shots weren't the whole scene, they had to have used a riding double. She apparently didn't know how to ride, although everyone else did.
Yup, I'm all for that idea. That's got to be it. Makes about as much sense as any other speculation at this point… 😛

Well let's hope it's her stunt double! It's bad enough for all these changes. I'm SO frustrated with these changes, but I could live with them in PC (though I was still mad, it would be a good movie without the book) I can't wait 4 the movie to come out!!!! Still freaked out. But excited!

You know, to veiwers who haven't read the book, PC is awesome! I know that cause a friend of mine has only seen the movies and loves them (but she thinks the books are boring. Oh, please -rolls eyes-)
Yeah, I have heard the same thing. But, I think that in order for a movie to deserve the name of the book, it needs to be as close to the book, plot and story wise, as it can be. Otherwise, at least in my opinion, it shouldn't have the name of the book. Just my thoughts….

who is MLG?i dont recall reading about a mysterious little girl in VDT! Prince Caspian was not a disaster either!! I love that movie better than the first! I can't wait for VDT!!!
MLG is a character that the script-writer added…at least that is our best guess as to who she is. We don't know much more than that.
Yes, i loved Prince Caspian, too. But, it didn't follow the book that well at all! And I personally don't want them adding too much to this movie either. Yes, they might need to build up some of the scenes in order to make it "action-filled" but the book itself is great. 🙂
