Fox Posts Intern Position for VDT Marketing
Fox Filmed Entertainment has posted an opening for a summer intern in its Brand Marketing department. The job description specifically mentions that the intern will be working on the brand marketing for the DVD/Blu-Ray release of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It also gives details about the work involved:
Brand Marketing within Home Entertainment is responsible for all the strategies and budgets surrounding the DVD and Blu-ray release of the theatrical films.
• Current projects and tasks that will be assigned to the intern(s):
• Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of The Dawn Treader Release Strategy
• Create a comprehensive competitive analysis of the first two releases, including release strategy, sales, creative and marketing programs
• Work in conjunction with brand manager to develop launch strategy including product development, packaging, placement and promotional ideas

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity for anyone involved in that line of work.
Good to see that they will be doing a full review of the LWW/PC DVD releases to see what went right and what went wrong. Maybe their review might suggest a return to releasing an Extended Edition DVD of the movie as they did with LWW.
I guess the intern won't have to be overly concerned with maintaining any sort of continuity with the design DVD packaging from the first two movies though, since any notion of uniformity in design went out of the window with the awfully designed Prince Caspian DVD covers. That is one thing they will definitely have to avoid this time.
We need to pray for whoever is chosen for the job.

Dang it! I won't be working on my MBA until 2012!! This totally would have been an awesome opportunity–too bad I'm not at that point yet. Then again, who knows? Maybe another opportunity will come up later for one of the future movies…well, we'll just have to wait and see…
By the way, Daredevil, that is a really interesting point. I didn't even think about the DVD cover! But you're right, it probably will look different from the first two. (And I agree, PC's cover was a total disaster).
