Dawn Treader Trailer in 3D

According to Paul Martin at NarniaFans.com, if you go see Toy Story 3 in 3D, they’re showing The Voyage of the Dawn Treader trailer in 3D in front of the movie! Now, we have to include our usual disclaimer here. If you are going to see Toy Story 3 solely for the purpose of seeing the trailer, please call the theater first to make sure they have it! Even though Fox has attached the Dawn Treader trailer to the movie, it’s not a guarantee that every theater will be showing it. We’ve heard from several people that the trailer was not attached to their theater’s Toy Story 3.

I thought they'd show the trailer in 3D. I'll be seeing it soon…

  2. icarus says:

I'd be very interested to have a shot-by-shot breakdown of the 3D effects in the trailer if anyone goes to see it and fancies writing one? Which shots look good in 3D, which shots look gimmicky, any shots where the 3D conversion looks really bad, etc 🙂 I'll probably go see Toy Story myself, but not for a few weeks, and the UK often doesn't get trailers until later than the US.

  3. Omac the centaur says:

    cool…………

  4. Trufflehunter says:

It makes sense.. The one shot in the trailer where Coriakin throwing the map at the screen looks like it was shot just to add that 3-D element, not that I necessarily have a problem with that! 🙂

  5. daughter of the King says:

I just saw Toy Story 3 and the trailer wasn't in front of it. If you want to see the trailer, definitely make sure you find out ahead of time which showings it's in front of. And I second icarus' request for a breakdown of shots.

  6. DragonGirl28 says:

I just saw Toy Story 3, and they did NOT show the trailer. I was pretty disappointed…

  7. 7chronicles says:

I saw Toy Story last night at midnight, and the trailer was awesume!!! It was great looking in 3D!!!!

  8. ERIC says:

I saw it in 3D last night! Absolutely amazing!!!

  9. icarus says:

EDIT: Turns out Toy Story 3 isn't out in the UK for another month, so i definitely won't be seeing it anytime soon. Would still love an in-depth 3D report though 😉

  10. Silver the Wanderer says:

I just saw Toy Story 3 (the 2D, not the 3D) and the VDT trailer was in front of it. And the movie was AMAZING!!! Definitely worth the money. I highly recommend it 🙂

  11. aravis tarkeena says:

I am so mad! I went to see it and no trailer. Definetely make sure your theatre has it before you go.

  12. georgiehfan says:

yeah i saw it too, and it wasn;t there. i am soooo upset!!!

  13. Aslans' Meadow says:

I might be seeing it on Mackinaw Island this weekend…I hope they DO have it with Toy Story 3 there.

  14. LadyCourage says:

My theater did NOT show the trailer in 3D. It was there, but not in 3D. Beware, if that's all you care about. But Toy Story was awesome in and of itself! And so was the trailer! Sound effects rock, music is slightly different but EXCELLENT, CGI beat Prince Caspian's into the dust. Very nice!

  15. Amoonalu says:

LOL, if my theater has the trailer, I'm going to see toy story for that! Words cannot express how excited I am about TVOTDT. We should all be promoting this movie like crazy ourselves, so they can keep making them. I really want to see the Last Battle someday!

  16. Bethany Weathers says:

They didn't show it when I saw Toy Story 3 last night, but I wasn't that bummed about it. I was planning on seeing Toy Story 3 anyway.

  17. Eden says:

Yeah, when my dad and little siblings went to see the movie, they said the trailer wasn't showing at our theater. 🙁 I guess I'll just have to wait.

  18. : )Narnia says:

I guess Starplex theaters are not showing the dawn treader trailer in front of Toy Story 3 cause I just went and saw it and no trailer: (

  20. kingTirian says:

  21. pselpevensie says:

i saw toy story today in 3d, but they didn't show it. i was so sad!!!! hopefully, the next time i see it they'll show it.

  22. glumPuddle says:

I went to see TS3 in IMAX. No VDT trailer! 🙁

  23. Movie Aristotle says:

I'd like to stress that bit about calling the theatre if you are interested only in the VDT trailer. I went to see Toy Story 3 this evening and alas, no VDT trailer. Fortunately I was looking forward to Toy Story 3, and enjoyed myself anyway.

  24. Eric says:

Not to be a downer, but if they didn't show THIS awful trailer, is that really a cause for disappointment?

  25. Eric says:

I think that's because VDT isn't in IMAX.

  26. joe says:

I live in america in new york on long island in a town called commack and i went to see toy story 3 in 3d at the main movoie theatre in the town and they didnt have the narnia trailer attatched to it

  27. annonomys says:

I saw the VDT trailer and it was awesome. The picture of the narnian ship started to flood the room, I really want to see this movie.

  28. #1NarniaFan says:

    It WAS awesome.

  29. HighKingPeter says:

Yea, it isnt in imax, but it was in front of the ts3 movie. The VOTDT trailer was awesome. I wish I were one of the Pevensie children, I just wonder who plays their cousin…..

  30. SusanPevensie says:

I REALLY can't wait for the VDT movie to come out, forget the trailer, just skip to the movie I'm jealous of C.S.Lewis, I could have written the stories and sell them first, before I read the books i kept writing short stories that are exactly like the books. >:| Oh well, they made the movies better and worse then the books, in ways its better, in others is worse. Well i better shut up now 😛

  31. Lady Allison says:

I saw Toy Story 3 in 3D about a couple of hours ago. The 3D aspect of the trailer made it seem like I was there. Everything had depth to it like in real life. It was so cool. I might see VDT in 3D after all. Maybe. I'm still not sure. Either way, I CAN NOT WAIT 'till it premiers.

  32. Allie-oop says:

No one is paying attention, are they? It seems obvious that the only way to see the VDT trailer, is to watch Toy Story 3 in 2D. But I think Lady Allison proved me wrong.
Anyways, I can't wait to see VDT.
I'm not gonna bother seeing TS3, because it looks like it's gonna be similar to the first movie. And after watching Toy Story 1 several times since it came out, I find the movie dull. But the T-rex toy and the piggy bank cracks me up each time.

  33. Alambil and Tarva says:

I went to see Toy Story 3 in 3D, but they only showed the VDT trailer in 2D!!! 🙁 :/

  34. Lady Allison says:

Well, actually, It wasn't similar to the first one. I'm not trying to persuade you into going or anything, but it really wasn't all that similar. I think you won't find it boring. It was REALLY action-packed. Plus, some scenes might be scary for little kids. It really kept me on the edge of my seat. Plus, the 3D made it… well, not "real" because it's computer animated. Well, you'll probably have to see it for yourself. By the way, If anybody wants to see Toy Story 3 and the VDT trailer in 3D, go to Carmike Thoroughbred 20 in TN.

  35. Lady Allison says:

What!? That's bunk! Shame on your Theater! BLEAH! If you can, go to Carmike Thoroughbred 20 in Franklin (or Cool Springs) TN. You can see the 3D Trailer there. But don't be late. It's the first movie trailer they show.

  36. Elizabeth L. W. says:

I'm an SOOOOO excited! I'm Doin my job Very well… Drivin my parents NUTS! LOL Can't wait! Sail on VDT!

  37. The Batman says:

Mmm… be sure to eat some fudge while you're there! 😉

  38. Narnia rocks says:

Toy story 3 is comming out in our 3D cidemas in FIVE DAYS!
I'm SO excited! I've got the dvd for narnia the lion the witch and the wardrope and prince caspain. I've got the whole series of narnia and watched a production of the voyage.

    SO EXCITED

  39. Rob says:

Maybe it would help if everyone posted the name of the theaters' "mother company" (AMC, Lowes, Cinemark, Karesotas, etc.) that actually played the trailer and which mother companies didn't play the trailer. For example, I went to see Toy Story 3 at an AMC/LOWES affiliate and they did not play the trailer for Toy Story 3. I might see the movie again with my one friend (who has not seen it) and I might go see it with him at a Cinemark affiliate, so I will see if that Cinemark affiliate will play the trailer in front of their Toy Story 3. Naming the affiliates might help people who may want to choose a theater that will play the trailer. After all, Toy Story 3 is everywhere, but the VDT's trailer is not. It depedends how bad someone wants to see it in the movie theater and have a small 3-D "sampler" to tide you over until December.

  40. Puddleglum says:

I have yet to see the trailer in the theatre.
The Mrs. insists on not being told about anything I read on this site, so I intend to leave it a suprise whenever we get to Toy Story.
I can only hope it is not in 3D as my poor Marsh-Wiggle stomach will not handle such turmoil.

  41. Fire Berry says:

I second that Lady Allison. Toy Story 3 was quite action packed and a bit scary for kids. It was very touching at the end though. I really enjoyed it!
Our theater did not show the DT trailer. I was dissapointed not to see it in 3D, but at least I've already seen it numerous times online. I can't wait for the movie to come out!

  42. Chloe says:

The 3D trailer was actually attached to the movie Despicable Me.
