HarperCollins Updates Their Sites for Dawn Treader

HarperCollins has updated two of their websites to launch the “Read It Before You See It” campaign for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

The first one is the familiar HarperCollinsChildren website that Narnia.com was redirected to for so long. Aside from the “Read It Before You See It” campaign details, you can enter a sweepstakes to win a full set of the Narnia Chronicles, and play other various fun interactive games. Also, fair warning, it’s got a giant “Watch the Movie Trailer Here” box, but then when you click on it, it says “Coming Soon.”

The second site is DiscoverNarnia.co.uk, which also updated to promote the Dawn Treader “Read It…” campaign.

Thanks icarus for the heads-up!

  19. fun! i hope we can actually watch the trailer on their soon!

  20. HighQueenofNarnia says:

*is deceived, and clicks on box, expecting an actual trailer and not believing that it's out so soon*
    "Coming soon…."
WHAT?! At least have to courtesy to be in POSSESSION of the product you're marketing! *realizes that this isn't financial ed.* Sorry. But, the principle can be applied and you get the general idea,… I hope. Unless I've gone completely INSANE waiting for the trailer and, ultimately, the movie!

Well, actually, to be honest, I didn't click on the box thanks to FK's warning, but I imagined my reaction if I had been thus deceived.

  21. HighQueenofNarnia says:

I just read that summary on the latter site, and I sincerely, sincerely hope that production will not completely mess up the film by having the painting swallow King Caspian. (Although, at least this time around it's KING Caspian- last time it was Prince.) Clarity is needed on the point that this painting swallows Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace and they JOIN King Caspian on the Dawn Treader for a journey of destiny, discovery, and obstacles beyond imagination, or whatever it was. At any rate, King Caspian is not swallowed by any painting, and if he is, I will literally scream and turn purple and possibly refuse to see the film, if they've disjointed the film from the book that much. But thankfully, I highly doubt the possibility of that happening (although, with the last couple script writers, you never know) and I will, in all likelihood, see the movie, unless King Caspian or anyone else except for the Pevensies/Scrubb trio is swallowed by a painting. I mean, that idea is just WRONG!

  22. Omac the centaur says:

    I already was. 😛

  23. OK so that's funny coming soon Haha. So close yet so far. Please hurry up VDT I am checking all the Narnia websires now, constantly haha

  24. Starlily says:

I clicked on it anyway too. 😛
I wonder what that other video box is, about meeting the cast? Will that video come out soon too, or is it just a guess on Harper Collins part?

  25. Going4God says:

This ALL is leading up to the VDT trailer!!!
    CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. That's a good thing they're doing, encouraging people to read the book first and all. It makes the movie much more enjoyable that way.

  27. Austra says:

    So was I!!! LOL.

  28. Omac the centaur says:

HEY!?! I cant post any comments on any newer pages than this?? any1 no why this would be??
