Yes another podcast!!!! I've been waiting for this one!

  3. aragorn2 says:

NOOOOOOOOOOOO, I am trying my best not to read the spoilers, but I am a huge fan of the podcasts. they seem to be trying their best to ruin the movie for me.

  4. Clive Staples Sibelius says:

Well if you've been listening to the podcasts you haven't missed a single spoiler starting from last year!

  5. glumPuddle says:

Sorry, this episode is about as spoiler-filled as they come.

  6. Aragorn2 says:

I finally read it so I could listen to it

  7. Anna's Sister says:

I love spoilers almost as much as I love the podcast so this a perfect mix for me!!

  8. glumPuddle says:

We made you give in to temptation! (Just like the characters in the movie)

  9. Narnian-by-Heart says:

Thanks for the amazing Podcast Gp. You guys all did an amazing job! keep up the good work

  10. A_Narnian_Ship says:

Just got around to listening to it…thanks so much to Rilian, glumPuddle, and Gymfan! I enjoy listening to your take on things and the camaraderie is refreshing to listen to. Great job!

  11. Peepicheep says:

I don't want the white witch in the movie, it will ruin it and what's up with her green eyes? is she turning into The Lady of the Green Kirtle? what's next? she wearing a green dress, that would be insane.

  12. Twinimage says:

Another good podcast. My feelings are similar to all of yours in the podcast. I'm still hopeful, because I haven't seen the film and there still isn't enough solid information on certain details.
I'm probably feeling the same as gymfan does at this time.

  13. pselpevensie says:

another amazing podcast! im still optimistic about the movie. i am a little worried about some things that i've seen?read…but everything will be answered on dec. 10th…

  14. King_Cor_the_Great says:

okay so i was listening to it, and all of sudden it stopped in the middle of Rilian talking about how it was supposed to be a mystery of the stone knife. Is there supposed to be a second part?

  15. Neverland Child says:

I think I've seen you on FanFiction.Net, you wrote "Twilight ruins Narnia" right?

  16. hatsuharu101 says:

I was so much more excited about the film before i listened to this podcast….thanks guys for ripping the wool away from my eyes….i was really looking forward to will's performance…now i don't really want to suggest this movie to people…..i do agree on the white whitch comments though…..oh well we shall see soon….

  17. Kathy says:

While I agree with the love of the finality of Aslan defeating the White Witch, I have to say, despite this being a really unpopular opinion, that I like the idea of the Witch coming back. Sure, it may be because of a contract Tilda has or whatever, and no, there isn't really any concrete evidence for the White Witch and the Lady of the Green Kirtle being the same person (though there is a mention that they are of a similar sort), but still. I honestly like the idea.

My justification for it is, whoever heard of a Witch that really died?

  18. Louloudi the Centaur says:

"How would Coriakin know all this stuff?"
    "Because he's a magician!" LOL
Anyway, if anyone had been reading my theory on the original spoiler page about only Aslan can defeat evil;he doesn't need magic, as an addition now, I think the thing the magician's sort of prediction is supposed to represent how Satanic arts can lead to sin. What I mean is magic cannot stop evil and no being can stop sin, and only Jesus(Aslan) can stop it. I hope this makes sense.

  19. Shastafan says:

Thanks guys! I love listening to your thoughts and opinions! If videos start coming out right after the two month mark like PC did, that means we might be seeing another podcast soon! 😉

  20. Rilian says:

I did. Her name was Jadis.

  21. StephanieTheFaithful says:

I think the White Witch might be on the Dark Island. They say all dreams come true…And the White Witch does say in the trailer "Edmund I can make you my king…" So, maybe Edmund starts day-dreaming about his past with the White Witch. And she shows up. But that is just my thought.

    Stephanie

  22. glumPuddle says:

Weird, it just stopped? There's a lot more after that.

Maybe you could try downloading it instead of streaming it.

  23. glumPuddle says:

Well first off, the hag that said that could have been mistaken. But lets assume for a moment that the hag was correct, and that you can always bring witches back (even if Aslan kills them)…

Even so, your logic doesn't hold up. Are you saying that just because it's possible to bring the White Witch back, the filmmakers should? Just because it's possible does not make it solid story-telling.

Forcing a romance between Susan and Caspian was "possible." That didn't make it good story-telling.

VDT is not about trying to defeat a villain or save Narnia. It's a very personal journey about the longing for one's true home and ultimately the joy of finding it. If a film audience is getting caught up in a struggle to defeat a villain, they are taking their eye off the ball. This betrays the very heart of the book.

  24. Bookwyrm says:

Wow, I've been quoted in the podcast! I'm famous now! 😀

  25. glumPuddle says:

That sounds like a really big leap to me. What are you basing this on?

  26. glumPuddle says:

I'm definitly not at the point of trying to discourage people from seeing it. No way. But when people ask me about it, I'll just give them my honest feelings, as I always do.

  27. Roger says:

Tilde Swinton, who plays the White Witch, naturally has green eyes. Her eye color was changed for LWW. Just like the movie has dropped the fake accent, it has also dropped the fake eye color. I think there is a very good chance that we will see Tilde Swinton in Silver Chair. She is an Oscar winner and good box office. I do not have a problem with Tilde in SC. Satan has many names and many forms; Jadis or Lady of the Green Kirtle are really the same. C. S. Lewis believed that evil never really goes away. Jadis can never really be killed. She is Satan.

If you have ever read a book about writing movie scripts, there is a formula that just about everyone follows. VDT is no different; same structure, same cliches. Studios like that. Yes, the screenwriters have messed with the book. We will see if this is good or bad. Fox has $150 million on the line. They want a profit or no more Narnia movies.

glunPuddle, you expressed a concern about the very end. I seem to recall from the super trailer that the conversation between Aslan and Lucy was word-for-word from the book. They seemed to keep the very end intact.

  28. Starlily says:

I don't want to argue with you, but Satan CAN be killed, and he WILL be killed when Jesus comes again. God is more than powerful enough to get rid of him forever, once the time is right.

Do you really think the White Witch is an exact parallel to Satan? What about Tash, then? Is he a reincarnated version of Jadis?

That's funny that they colored Tilda Swinton's eyes differently in LWW. I wonder why they did that? Green eyes are beautiful! (Although I really hope the White Witch isn't turning green…I'm in the "two separate witches" camp)

  29. To die, will be an awfully big adventure says:

    Cool! CONGRATS!!!

  30. glumPuddle says:

Where are you getting this whole concept that the WW and LotGk are really the same? Not from the books, surely.

Aslan killed the Witch but she won't go away. Makes the ending of LWW much less powerful. "Whatever, she's coming back anyway."

It's also just really lame to keep bringing her back. It's rather pathetic. Seems like they're bringing her back just because they want to put her in trailers. That's sick.

  31. FriendOfNarnia2 says:

I was quoted in a podcast once, does that mean I'm famous too?

  32. King_Cor_the_Great says:

I would also like to say that it seems that not only are they only using the White Witch more than she is supposed to be, but it also seems they are using Susan a lot more then she is (even though it is not as bad as the WW). Like I can understand with the letter and the Book of Incantations, but putting her also in Narnia???? Peter I can understand because in the book he has such a belief for narnia while Susan drifts away. I thought that by VDT that Susan started drifting away, but when I read the quote about her saying that "America has given her so many adventures but not like the ones we had in Narnia" that shocked me. So I feel like there is a definant chance of her character appearing with Peter, Edmund, Lucy and all of them in the Last Battle. It also bothers me that we have no predictions onto why peter and susan are in narnian clothes.

  33. Roger says:

Like I said; Satan has many names and many forms. Maybe Jadis and Tash are the same. Both are the embodiment of evil. The point of the end of the movie is to remind us that Jesus has many names and many forms. Think big.

  34. Bookwyrm says:

The books do not confirm or indicate that Jadis=LotGK. The Estate has confirmed they are not the same. Anyone saying different is pulling their opinions out of thin air, based upon overactive imaginations and too many Fanfiction.net binges. The fact is, none of us knew C. S. Lewis. Douglas Gresham did. So if the Estate is confirming Jadis is not LotGK, that's as close to a confirmation from C. S. Lewis as you're going to get in this life. Jadis=Tash is just absurd and I can't believe people actually consider it.

Not sure where you're going with this Jesus has many forms thing. You aren't seriously claiming C.S. Lewis bought into the many roads to heaven stuff, are you?

  35. Bookwyrm says:

    Sure! 😀

  36. Roger says:

Sorry, I am not trying to stir thing up. We disagree about some aspects of God. We are both right and both wrong. Part of the beauty of Lewis was that he could bring us together with some outstanding stories about the universal truths.

  37. Rilian says:

We love to quote articulate NarniaWebbers =D

  38. Lady Galadriel says:

The White Witch was not only defeated in LWW, she died. There is nothing stated in the books about her having any power to randomly just come back to life on her own, as it seems she is trying to do in the movie. C.S. Lewis wrote that Aslan defeated her one time, which was all that was needed; if he had intended for her to return more than once, why didn't he write it?

  39. Narnian_Archer says:

I always try to be articulate in my posts on NW…will I be famous too someday? LOL!!!
    Congrats, Bookwyrm!!
Thanks so much for the podcast Rilian, glumPuddle and Gymfan! You do an amazing job!!

  40. The thing I am MOST disturbed about… Jadis' green eyes and the fact that the fog stuff (death eaters, anyone?) is now, yes, GREEN.

God forbid the Lady of the Green Kirtle turn into Tilda Swinton… whoever's in charge of the April Fools stuff had better not put that as a post. You might jinx us again!

    Suspian… oy.

  41. Louloudi the Centaur says:

I wouldn't be too worried about the eyes. If you look at a photo of Tilda Swinton, her eyes are a very shocking green.

  42. Rilian says:

I'll have that on my conscience till the day I die.

  43. Haha, Rilian, you couldn't have seen that coming. And the fans don't blame you (even if some of us joke about it).

Honestly, I laughed so hard when I saw that years ago… ironic, huh? Just don't make an Aprils Fool post about Eustace/Jill pairing up, k? hahaha… >_>

  44. I tried remembering Tilda's eye color, but all I could remember were her eyes in the stone table–when she had those contacts. haha

  45. wolfloversk says:

Question! Why did I not notice this until today? Another great job guys keep up the good work!!!! 😀

  46. SecondRose says:

Oh no! So you were the one the brought the White Witch back in the April Fool's Day joke??!! I was trying to remember who that was after watching the trailer. You guys need to stop coming up with the worst things you can imagine and start suggesting the best things you can imagine on April 1st!

  47. SecondRose says:

BTW I always love your podcasts – but I think I'm listening this one after the movie comes out. 😀

  48. Louloudi the Centaur says:

I think the only reason people were worried about WW being… you know are 1. There weren't too many close ups of her in LWW, so we wouldn't know her eye color. 2. She is so pale in the temptation scene in the trailer, her eyes really stood out.

  49. GlimGlum says:

Good job guys and gal and I am glad you haven't given up yet on movie VDT. 🙂 Oh, and it was nice of you to use that little poll in the beginning there. 😀
