Narnia: The Billboard!

Some new billboards promoting The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader have popped up.  Currently, we have only heard of them in the Louisville, KY area.  The billboard features the same snowy Aslan that we have seen recently.

Have you seen a Narnia billboard in your area?  Let us know!

Thanks to DJKuo for the heads up!

Wow. A billboard? I would've never expected that, but I still think that's cool! 😀

Now, if only we'd start getting TV spots and more footage(hint hint)… 😉

  2. Aslan's Meadow says:

WOW!!! I am totally loving the Fox advertisment. They really are doing a good job. IT's all starting to come and only 1 month (and 6 days) to go!!!!

  3. Shastafan says:

Tell me about it! Just a month ago, we had so little news coming out, and now, the ride of insanity and spoilers has notched up to news more than once a day! This is great! 😀

  4. wolfloversk says:

    YAY!!!!!!!!!:D

  5. LL says:

I don't think I've ever seen a "movie" billboard. A tv show maybe, but never a movie! This is awesome!!!!

  6. NarniaNut says:

JUST SAW THAT LIKE HLF HOUR AGO!!! :)\Wanted to take a pic and send it in but i guess someone beat me to it!

  7. FriendOfNarnia2 says:

One thing I learned in my Mass Media class was that Billboards are one of the only forms of advertising that doesn't target a particular audience. It reaches everyone equally. Hopefully this is a sign that the movie will appeal to all ages.

  8. WarriorOfNarnia says:

WOW! There won't be any in Kansas!

  9. wolfloversk says:

Agreed! I want some footage 😀

  10. Caspian XI says:

Aslan's mane- awesome!!! 😀 I'll be sure to look for one…

  11. icarus says:

Its very interesting that the Billboard doesn't even appear to have the words "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" on it, just the word "Narnia". Very typical of the marketing campaign so far – Snow + Aslan + Narnia – very little emphasis on anything new, or anything that is actually in the movie. Hopefully it won't backfire.

  12. Aragorn2 says:

    Wow, did LWW get billboards?

  13. narnian4ever says:

Oh!! Hope to see a billboard of Narnia around here!! I would so make my mom stop the car for me to take a picture of it=D can't wait!!
and i hope we will soon see some TV spots=D

  14. skeptic says:

I must admit, Fox is doing surprisingly well in their advertising endeavors. You would think, though, that they would at least have the Dawn Treader on the billboard but, oh no, we must return to the magic of LWW.

  15. Starlily says:

My state doesn't have billboards, so I'm just hoping for TV spots. 🙂

(Still, it would be cool to see a giant billboard of Aslan!)

  16. Aragorn2 says:

When do TV spots usually start coming out?

  17. Queen Elizabeth says:

YES!!!!!! Does anyone know if they have the big posters in the theaters yet? I like taking my pictures by them.

  18. narnian1 says:

yes, we have that same poster here where I live. I haven't seen it myself just yet but my brother has seen it already. Didn't realize narniaweb had this posted yet.

  19. narnian1 says:

    I live in Florida btw

  20. The Inscrutable Rutabaga says:

Wow, so sweet!!! Thanks DJKuo!!! 😀

  21. Narnia fan 101 says:

I live near Bel Air Maryland and I just saw one tonight

  22. Silver the Wanderer says:

I remember seeing one for PC 😀

    Anyway, nice advertising FOX!

  23. 22narnian says:

It's amazing! I have seen one in King's Mills, OH and it is very nice to see a great-looking Dawn Treader advertisement.

  24. Mike says:

Its a roadside billboard. Who wants drivers taking their eyes off the road to read a long movie title? One image – a lion – and one word – Narnia – is enough.

  25. pselpevensie says:

SO HAPPY THAT A BILLBOARD IS UP!!!!!…but not so happy that it's of SNOWY aslan!

  26. Cynical Narnia Fanboy says:

hmmm… don't remember this for any of the first two… i guess they don't consider Nebraska important enough

  27. Leah says:

There are billboards in Michigan on 131 on the West side of the state.

  28. Anon says:

  31. Elyon's Daughter says:

    Snow? Really?

  32. Tawariell says:

My mom saw one in Chicago by Midway airport– unfortunately I missed it. 🙁 But it's there!! 🙂

  33. Josh says:

They are doing better at advertising then I thought. I thought I was like the only one who knew this movie was coming out, then apparently when I went to a bible study tonight someone mentioned the new Narnia movie and everyone said "Oh yeah, I wanted to see it" and "it looks good" and "my family is making plans to watch it." I was surprised.

  34. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH we'd better get one of those around here in Chicago, IL soon! I'm going to start picking more trips out so me and my mom can go scout around for some and get a bunch of pictures.

  35. [ForNarniaAndForAslan] says:

A week or two more perhaps.

  37. Winnie says:

There is a billboard in Sacramento,CA. So its a new Narnia movie?

  38. dramaticalmama says:

Footage is pouring in like rain for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Why? I mean, are they trying to attract attention or something? Cause Narnia will definitely do way better than that. Though I do wish we see a bit more footage.

  39. Narnian_Archer says:

I remember when I saw a billboard advertising PC too. I was like, "hey! They're advertising Narnia!!"
Nice billboard. The snow is a little extra still, I think, but generally, it's a cool billboard. 🙂

  40. Narnian_Archer says:

I don't know aboutt LWW, but I clearly remember PC billboards in my native city.

  41. megan says:

Just saw this morning in Columbus, OHIO

  42. Reepicheep says:

At last we see some real marketing action!

  43. Pepper Darcy says:

Wow, Fox advertises better than Disney! I like it! 🙂 So maybe if they market this sooo well, maybe it'll do better and they'll make the rest? 🙂

  44. narnian resident says:

i shall say it again……MAJOR PROMOTION! wow! its gone to a billoard! and its funny cuz just yesterday i was talking about the movie to my creative writing teacher and she had commented on how it doesnt seem to be promoting much, and i was like "oh, heck yes it is! there is posters and advertisments galore! not to mention a big ice palace thing, LOTS of videos, and even prize drawings!" i just love narnia promotion 😀

  45. QueenLucytheValient says:

    I love it!!!!

  46. Ariel_of_Narnia says:

    double ditto!

  47. Ariel_of_Narnia says:

Yes, it is, Winnie. The third installment.

  48. Ariel_of_Narnia says:

Soooooo going to look out for this. I saw billboards for Legend of the Guardians and Hereafter, so I don't see why VDT should be left out….

  49. Annabeth says:

This is so beautiful it brings a tear to my eye….Narnia is ACTUALLY BEING PUBLICISED!!!

  50. Anna's Sister says:

Love it!! At first I thought that the poster with just Aslan on it was boring but after I saw official poster with the whole gang on it (I hate those posters) plain old Aslan is just fine

  51. The White Wizard says:

Join in, "We need billboards, we need footage!"

  52. The White Wizard says:

    Me too.

  53. Abbey says:

    I love it!

  54. Scarlet13 says:

Awesome!! I Haven't seen any yet! this is so cool! I hope I get to see one soon!

  55. Duffleglum says:

Now THAT'S what makes me excited!!

I hate the poster design, still. NO SNOW!

  56. Queen Elizabeth says:

YES! Finally some publicity worthy of a billboard. And shut up! About the snow already people. It looks cool. Anywho this film is going to be urm, what the word? EPIC!

  57. kingTirian says:

only one!!!?? i pass by it everyday on highway 101 going to santa clara…i think mine's closer to the freeway…at night it looks the best cuz the lights shine on it making it look clearer…wow…only one?! i cant take a picture cuz we're on a freeway….too fast…but when i go home i also use the same highway too…so i see it at night and afternoon!!!!!
