New Posters for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

There are three new character posters for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader that have popped up online and a fourth poster that’s very similar to the international poster that’s been redesigned. Check them out below.

Narnia France also has copies of these posters in hi-res which you can check out on their site here.

Thanks to narnian1 and Narnia France for the heads up!

  1. PB and J says:

Love them! But I wish the white witch wasn't being used to promote as much as she is.

  2. narnian resident says:

again, why on earth is the White Witch so focused upon when she is hardly in the film?
anyway, the one of Aslan is so beautiful! amazing! i want that poster, bad!

  3. Brisa says:

I like them all but the third. "Return to Narnia with the White Witch"?
    Really?

  4. -centaur- says:

I agree! The white witch should be advertised somewhat so that people will realize that some of the same characters will be in the film, but they're making her seem like one of the main characters 🙁

  5. Tribunal says:

I think they're over doing it with marketing the White Witch. I don't mind her appearing in the film but she isn't even a big part of it to use her in promotion. And at least find a decent picture of her.

The only poster that I like is the one where they show half of Aslan's face, that was epic.

  6. : )Narnia says:

I saw these up on rotten tomatoes and thought they looked pretty cool. I like the one with the witch… not so much the idea but the colors and art.

  7. Quinlin says:

Urm, I don't much fancy the idea of Returning to Narnia with the White Witch…her endless resurrections are getting on my nerves. Who on earth is doing the marketing posters??

As for the others, they are all fantastic! I especially love the new colors they introduced on the Reepicheep and Aslan posters! Lovely!

  8. Louloudi the Centaur says:

I just wish they would get over WW already. It may drive people crazy knowing a dead character keeps coming back when she is absolutely dead at the end of the first film. Just another reason these films are starting to look like Harry Potter.I'm not saying Harry Potter is bad, but it is just that the film makers are not letting Narnia be its own unique self, and it has to be like Harry Potter bringing back a villain that seems to die, but doesn't.

  9. Samuel the Magnificent says:

I think it's because they're going to lead into her becoming the Lady of the Green Kirtle.

  10. LucyTheValiant says:

I do love the poster with Aslan, majestic was the first word that came to mind when I saw it. I agree, the WW should not be used this much to advertise, if her role in the movie is as short as everyone is saying it is. I like the last poster as well, I just wish the blue wasn't as bright as it is. I cannot believe that we get to see VDT on Friday 😀
We;ve waited so long for this, I still can't believe we're finally getting to see it 🙂

  11. Lucylove says:

I agree. Relly I HATE the White Witch

  12. Lucylove says:

    Oops! I misspelled Really.

  13. Queen Elizabeth says:

That White Which is a character that represents the legacy of Narnia. For those who aren't huge fans and they see her they think of Narnia. She is a symbol of the franchise, just like Aslan, the lamp-post, and the Pevensies themselves.

  14. Mina says:

Does anyone else think Susan has a larger role in this movie than Peter? We have a poster at my theater which has mini character cards on it, and Susan's one of them. (Granted they do seem a bit random.) But on all the posters Susan is featured bigger and less "see-through" than Peter. Perhaps they're already starting her descent from Narnia.

  15. Hwin says:

I had seen the blue one at a bus stop the other day! 😀 They all look fantastic, but like everyone else has stated, the White Witch is DEAD. She should not be such an 'important' part. I think that they would be making a huge mistake to have her turn into the Lady of the Green Kirtle, even if Tilda IS an extremely talented actress.

I can not wait until Friday!!! 😀

  16. FaunFan says:

Of course she is. I am 99% sure that she will be the LOTGK. Why? Because she is their marketing strategy. She is the one thing besides Aslan that ties all of the movies together. To the average person it's a bit like "Oh, cool! The White Witch! She was awesome! Let's go see her again!" They are going to use her as much as they can. I would be very upset if this happens, but at the same time, I can understand it. It makes things much less confusing to the average viewer. They know this villain, they've had this villain, and they can connect a bit better than to some new person that's only going to be in the one movie.

  17. Josh says:

I laughed when I saw "Return to Narnia with the White Witch". It makes it sound like the White Witch is a tour guide.

  18. Narnian at Heart says:

i love them all except the 3rd one! i DONT like jadis at all! But it does make some sense thier avertising her so much but this is only a theory of mine…in LWW she represents satan and the devil always comes back in some way shape or form and their probally just setting her up for The Lady of the Green Kirtle

  19. Mina says:

I guess I'd better wear my winter jacket to the theater…

  20. Queen Elizabeth says:

My Mascot Colors For Narnia Movies (yes this is random but interesticng)

    LWW: Red and Yellow
PC: Tan, Orange, Green, and blue(for castle raid scene)
    VDT: Purple, Blue, Green

I don't know why but whenever I think of the movies a color comes to mind. Anyone agree?

  21. glumPuddle says:

The WW poster is the most disgraceful piece of Narnia marketing ever. They have gone past being misleading. Fox is officially lying to the masses.

  22. Starlily says:

Actually, I think that suits the White Witch. Remember how she pointed out to Digory all the nicest rooms of her palace in Charn, and how she so graciously welcomed Edmund to Narnia with enchanted candy and promised to make him king? As long as you're of use to her, she makes a wonderful tour guide!
    (Yeah, I'm being very sarchastic. 😛 )

  23. LL says:

Great. Now they need to include Caspian and Edmund on their own poster. Just having Reepicheep and the White Witch is disgraceful.

  24. Starlily says:

I agree that each Narnia story has its own colors. 🙂
But mine are a bit different from yours, and I'm speaking of the books here:

LWW: ice-blue and white (for winter) light green (for spring) and gold (for Aslan)
PC: forest green, orange, and red
VDT: green, bright red, gold, and ocean blue (and maybe some purple too, for the sail)
SC: various shades of dull gray and green
HHB: sandy yellow, red, and sky blue
MN: lots of green (for the rings, Narnia, and the Wood) and some gray (for smoggy London and wasted Charn). Oh, and gold for the gold rings and Aslan.
LB: fiery orange and black–until the very end, which is bursting with many lovely colors.

I've always wondered what colors other people associated with Narnia. 🙂 I think it's cool.

  25. Bookwyrm says:

Heh, the WW having Horcruxes might explain some things.

  26. Sarah says:

ME TOO!! If I were the average moviegoer, I would be like "Ew, the White Witch AGAIN??? I'm not going to see that movie!!"

  27. Pepper Darcy says:

I hope they have one like the Reepicheep one for like Lucy or something. i'm going to buy a Narnia poster (I have a LotR one that a friend gave me) and I'm going to get a Narnia map poster and a Middle Earth map poster a How to Train Your Dragon poster, so I need a Narnia poster 🙂 One for each of my favourite movies 🙂 And maps. I love maps. I love staring at them 🙂

So LETS SO hope they have some pretty awesome posters soon 🙂

I *WAS* going to get the soundtrack today… unfortunately that Wal-mart doesn't get that sort of stuff until a week after it's release. I'm ordering from Amazon… *sigh* Walmart stinks.

  28. wannawork4Weta says:

I just bought my movie tickets for this Friday! Excited, I've been waiting so long…

  29. Mina says:

My money's on Edmund being one of them.

  30. DamselJillPole says:

    I love the last one!

  31. Queen Susan the Gentle says:

I hope that's why they're using her, even though she is EVIL, and there isn't any EVIL in the book. Sorry, sometimes I get a little angry about her needing to be in all the films…. I wonder, will she be in LB, too? I really, REALLY hope not. But I so hope she will be LOTGK. That'd be awesome!

  32. NarnianRailway says:

The reflection of the Dawn Treader in Aslan's eye in some is brilliant. I think the posters look awesome but agree some are misleading to the story (the White Witch in particular).

I'm disappointed that the VDT theater display detail continues by using a flipped image of Reepicheep, holding his sword in the left rather than right paw! Dare I mention in the large Reepicheep poster – they have eliminated his tail!!!

A lack of appreciation for detail… why it's a Calormen Plot within the film marketing department I tell you!!!
[okay, I am done venting now]

  33. Queen Susan the Gentle says:

I have that one (the half Aslan face) in my room above my bed! It's my favourite, too. 🙂

  34. Queen Susan the Gentle says:

LOVE THE ASLAN POSTER! LOVE THE REEPICHEEP POSTER! DON'T LIKE THE WHITE WITCH POSTER! LIKE THE OTHER ONE, THOUGH! I LOVE ASLAN!!!!!!!!

oh, sorry. freaking out about Thursday night, really hyper right now. AHHHHHH!

  35. Queen Susan the Gentle says:

    Us too! 12:01 a.m., baby!

  36. Louloudi the Centaur says:

I assume Horcruxes bring things back to life? I have read only 3/7 of the series.

  37. Queen Susan the Gentle says:

    I agree 100%!

  38. jordanjay29 says:

To her credit, Tilda Swinton has performed majestically in her role as the White Witch. I have no doubt she would do the Lady of the Green Kirtle the same justice.

  39. Queen Susan the Gentle says:

"Narnia Tours: Welcome to Narnia, the Beautiful Country on the Sea! Come along with us as we tour the Lone Islands, and the uncharted islands! With Jadis as our guide, we are sure to be killed or enslaved! And the highlight of our tour will be Dark Island; where "dreams" come true!" This would be an awesome caption on that poster!
(this probably sounds really cheezy and lame; sorry)

  40. jordanjay29 says:

The reason for Walmart's sluggishness is because their music selections are managed by a third party company, Anderson Merchandising. In short, Anderson controls the shipping, the releases and the supply of music at Walmart. So don't blame Walmart, blame Anderson.

  41. Queen Susan the Gentle says:

We have that poster at our cinema, too. Yes, they seem quite random, but I do think Susan may have a bigger role in this than Peter. (and hopefull WW)

  42. narnian21 says:

I don't want ti return with her

  43. Mina says:

It's basically when you split your soul, so that if say your body dies, then you still live on…I think I got it right. It's kind of confusing to me. (My joke is that Voldemort accidently made Harry a horcrux, so in turn the WW makes Ed one too.)

  44. Aslan's my Homeboy says:

So I know this is totally random for this topic but I really want to know when the dawn treader soundtrack will be available on itunes. It's not on there and it's making me mad!

  45. Whisper says:

cool, i wanna see the movie sooooooooooo bad

  46. Pepper Darcy says:

    okay, I don't hate Wal-Mart now! 🙂 Thanks for the info! 🙂

  47. Narnian at Heart says:

my friend thinks that aslan is a zombie!;(

  48. Whisper says:

He sounded like one then… 😉

  49. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

that's because people need to know who Lucy is jealous of

  50. Narnian at Heart says:

    nooooooooooooooooooo

  51. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

they don't want to remind people of Prince Caspian, the movie bomb (in their greedy eyes, at least)

  52. Narnian at Heart says:

hes soooo not a zombie he represents Jesus

  53. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

I really wanted a poster of the huge DT closeup. that's what I expected the poster to look like, i might just buy the paperback and rip the cover off and frame it– and I looked everywhere for posters, and If I can't find them, how about the casual moviegoer? I am just baffled by this fox company–

  54. Narnian_Dreamer says:

My colours are somewhat different but not much:
LWW: blue, white and light green
PC: dark blue, forest green and dark purple
VDT: light blue, white, yellow and green
SC: dark green, black and red
HHB: desert colour, lots of red and purple
MN: green, yellow, black and brown
LB: grey, black and then, like you, lots of colours at the end

Yup that's pretty much it! I enjoy seeing what others associate it with as well! 🙂

  55. Odette says:

I wouldn't mind Tilda being the LOTGK, as long as they don't make JADIS the LOTGK. see the difference? it's the difference between saying "they were twins" and "Aslan didn't really kill her." the first is tolerable. the second inadmissible. (and, Please, don't replace Tash in LB for something like Jadis!)

  56. @FaunFan I Agree with you.

  57. Samuel the Magnificent says:

I hope she is the LotGK too. It would definitely connect all of the books together.

  58. stateofgreen says:

Me too, I would think, can't they cast some new for a change in the evil role for the LOTGK? I really think Tilda should have a rest.

  59. Reepicheep says:

They are over promoting the White Witch and she is only in Edmund's mind for the whole film.
