Well, I have to wait until the DVD. Does that make you feel better? πŸ™‚ Don't feel sorry for me, though, it's my own choice, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the movie. But it'll be a long wait…

  2. narnian says:

i know but is that he makes me mad lol!!! he must be giving thanx that the movie is made! the changes must be done, so ppl that had not read the book can fell in love with the movie. Srry for my comment, is that i wasn't in a good mood this morning!!!! sorry G-puddle.

  3. lysander says:

I agree, W4J: Henley was fantastic! As were Poulter and Pegg, of course. Shame they weren't given better material.

  4. Daniel James says:

UPDATE: I posted a better review at the NarniaFans fan review page! www. narniafans .com/vdt_reviews/review.php?id=12 (copy and paste that into your browser's address bar, and then get rid of the spaces after www. and before .com).

    How do you like it?

  5. Queen Susan the Gentle says:

AHHHHH! We (being my five hyper friends and I) went to the midnight premier last night! It was fantastic! So well made and the characters are amazing. Loved the sea serpent scene. I love love LOVED Edmund. So, so cute and talented! (Oh, sorry, that's my girly part coming in.) But I recomend this to everyone!
P.S. It isn't really a little kid film. It has a few scary scenes and creatures. Just a heads-up!

  6. Feather~Light~Heart says:

I'm seeing it at 7:00 tonight!!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT wait!!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ Sail on, Narnia

  7. MagnificentKing says:

I have seen the movie 3 times since 12:00 AM this morning and I am about to go see it with my Church is that a record!

  8. Victoria says:

I'm in the same situation as you. Narnia arrives to Sweden 25 december. πŸ™ I want to se the film now! XD

  9. Queen Elizabeth says:

Glumpuddle, not to be rude, but all of your comments about everything on here is always so negative. You must have an unhappy life or something. But for the younger fans who may have really enjoyed this movie, your comments is something that they may not have wanted to hear.

  10. Eviliini says:

Of course I'll decide for myself. It's just that usually my opinions coincide with his: if he didn't like the movie I probably won't either. Let's hope I disagree with him this time! πŸ˜€

  11. Queen Elizabeth says:

GlumPuddle stop trying to sound all grown up. You think that everyone always agrees with your opinions because you think they sound "smart" or "superior". But I'm sick of all the critism. Is there anything you liked about the film. You diss everything! Sorry to be rude, but this is really giving me a bad image about the movie and I don't get to see it until next week!

  12. headstrong says:

The movie is not the book, its an adaptation. it's not supposed to be exactly like the book. deal with it.
i agree with narnian you must be giving thanx that the movie is made.

  13. headstrong says:

How easily are you swayed by other people's opinions? GO TO WATCH THE MOVIE AND GET YOU OWN OPINION!

  14. Narnian* says:

Okay. First things first. We are all entitled to our own opinions. It does not mean that if one person dislikes it, we all will. I don't think we should be stressing about that at all. In fact, I watched glumPuddle's trailer analysis for the theatrical trailer and disagreed with most of the comments. I completely respect his opinion, but I don't agree with him. Most of his comments on the visual effects I felt opposite. The changes to the story I don't like but I feel like there was a good reason for the changes. I think most of these changes were put in place to appeal to everyone and not to just appeal to fans of the book. Let's just all be happy! πŸ™‚ It is out, and we may like it, and we may not like it…..let's just go support it!

  15. Duffleglum says:

yes Daniel, your review is much better than others.

  16. Queen Su says:

I agree with you somewhat glumPuddle. I did feel as if the story was a bit rushed and what really killed the film for me was how Eustace got changed back into a boy. That seemed way too rushed and there was too much with the DI and the battle there.
I thought the acting was fine and Will P. had a great performance.
One thing I really liked about the film was that they added a bunch of details from the book and added a few word for word quotes in the film. The plot change was okay up until about Coriakin's island. After that it seemed like the movie fell apart.
Even though I didn't like some of the changes, I'm still going to see it again tomorrow to see if I change my mind. πŸ™‚

  17. Maelina says:

If you don't want spoilers, I'd suggest you'd stay away from this website until you've seen the film. Not everyone is going to like the film and if you're voluntarily visiting this site, you're going to have to deal with that. And BTW, I highly doubt gPuddle is trying to sound "smart" or "superior". He's just stating his opinion.

  18. Duffleglum says:

    hear! hear!
    It's gonna be good

  19. lucyrocks17 says:

AHHHHHHHHHHH SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how was it?

  20. Queen Elizabeth says:

I just think that people should post the positives and not every negative thing.

  21. eustacegirl says:

Lucy, it was wonderful! Edmund was being the big protective, comforting brother of Lucy and he cared so much about her unlike LWW and he did not give into the witch during his nightmare at all! He did show hesistation towards the food, which was kind of like the book. I almost cried when Eustace cried while Leaving Reepicheep and am so happy he wanted to go back to Narnia. I like that he put the painting back on the wall! OOH the name drop! Silver chair and last Battle have to be made! They must!

  22. J.J. says:

VDT was incredible! I absolutely loved it!

  23. wolfloversk says:

    With all due respect,

    1) he does not appear to be trying to sound all grown up, nor is he trying to force his opinions on others.
    2) He doesn't have to like the movie if he doesn't like it, you can't force people to change their opinions
    3) Have you ever noticed how good he is at not influencing the articles he posts with any bias, few newsposters do that so I think gP deserves a lot of cedit for this- He excludes his opinions to the comments section
    4) He has every right to post his thoughts in the comments section, that's why its there πŸ˜‰

  24. A NOTE TO JAG: I posted a review/analysis/synopsis on the 'David Brown 'voyge of the dawn treader' review' of the film and my views. I gave it ** (two stars) and I got a comment by you calling me a 'pure purist'. Not necessary! I understand you like the film but I think you not try and change my veiw on it

  25. Anna's Sister says:

I want to see it!!! Why do little towns have to get movies so late!

  26. wolfloversk says:

*is sitting in her chair reading this forced to wait a week before she can see it…

on the upside I've been rereading the chronicles, in both orders, and you know all those inconsistencies people claim they have… yeah, well all I've got to say is what inconsistencies? I've already found two were disproved potentially, and I just finished the first book…

On the down side I founjd a spot in the book that contradicts one of my favorite lines from the PC movie…AHHHHHH!!!!!- Ah well, perhaps they'll explain it away somehow…if they get there…

Right now I'm more worried about SC than I am about VDT, I guess this is because theirs not much that they can do about changing the changes… but I'll be heartbroken if they don't make the rest, especially HHB, that was my favorite. And there's also a few SC rumors that could potentially kill the franchise if VDT doesn't, good thing they are rumors! Basically if SC doesn't get greenlit fast, we could have some major problems…

  27. CEP Paul T says:

Overall: Good movie. I would pay to see it in the theater again and most likely will.

  28. wolfloversk says:

Oh and by the way those rumors have nothing to do with Tilda, fortunately, although if I had to choose… *shudders*

  29. Greg says:

Very good movie! Beautiful, stunning, and engaging!

  30. wolfloversk says:

…for people who can drive to or get a ride to a theater πŸ˜‰

  31. Queen Elizabeth says:

I know how you feel wolfloversk. I don't get to see it until next Tuesday. πŸ™‚ We can be the late watchers club!

  32. Queen Elizabeth says:

Geeze people. no need to gang up on me. I'm entitled to opinions too.

  33. Brian says:

The movie was good, not great and that made me sad. The moment I saw the FOX and Walden Media logos I was almost trembling with excitement. I cried at various moments during the movie and I actually had to calm myself at the end or I would have cried for some time… The things they got wrong they got really wrong and therewere many. But the things they got right they couldn't have done any better. Please go watch it. I can almost be certain that you will at least like it. It doesn't make you feel like you're in Narnia. Maybe that's ok since it's not Narnia itself, it's the Easten Ocean. But still I was hoping for a more Narnian feel. The movie was fast paced, everything was done in some way that made me feel that the filmmakers just cared about things being and not exactly fitting them in. The green mist was terrible if not stupid. The moment I saw the green mist my mind went crazy with fury. I said to myself: "What movie is this? Is this even Narnia?" In my opinion, it doesn't make any sense at all. The Islands were explored too fast, no details. All places were sets. There were no open spaces like in the previous installments. In general the movie is a very lower scale compared to the other two. There were a lot of details and things they had to do and show that they didn't. For instance Ramandu's Island is named after someone who does not apear at any moment. I hated that. The dark island was all wrong, the seven swords made no sense. Almost nothing was how I imagined it. They only thing I did love was the end and the beginning. But please go watch it!

  34. Manuel says:

I agree with you, Narnian1, we must to accept that cinema is a totally different media than books, so a complete faithful adaptation is simply impossible to get.

I really enjoyed the movie, but I swear not to see a video spoiler again! Part of the magic is lost with all the stuff weΒ΄ve seen weeks ago.

Perhaps itΒ΄s time to start a facebook campaign to ask a DVD / Blu-ray extended edition of the movie πŸ™‚

  35. King of Narnia says:

To bad for me, i'm not seeing it today, i gatta wait until next week.

  36. Narnia Nut says:

CAANNNTT WAIT !!! Im seeing it in 3 and a half hours counting down!!!!! :))))))))))))))))))))))))

  37. Mayor Wilkins says:

So glad to hear you liked the movie. πŸ˜‰
    I did too! πŸ˜€ Fantastic!

  38. Lucy says:

Let me put your worries at rest. I've just got back from seeing the movie. Lucy's "prayer" is in there.

  39. Fire vien says:

IF I don't see it soon I'm going to DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. Mayor Wilkins says:

I just saw the movie. I thought it was a fantastic companion to "LWW."
The White Witch/Green Mist was my favorite part. She perfectly personified temptation and The Green Mist by itself was very creepy. The movie had all of Lewis's Christian themes. It had everything I wanted it to have and more. The Dragon was really cool and even cute at times. And the sea serpent….. terrifying.

PS: I sobbed at the end. I've never cried that much at the end of a movie, but this was really touching and bitter-sweet. Epic win to all involved in the production!! I thank them for their hard work!! πŸ˜€

PPS: Green Lady = Tilda Swinton. To me, there is little question. Considering how green her eyes were….. I'd say I'm 85 percent sure Tilda is going to be the Lady of the Green Kirtle.

Cheers to all! Narnia is here! πŸ™‚

  41. Lucy says:

Well, I was right…I LOVED THAT MOVIE TO PIECES. At one point at the end my eyes got all misty and my lip seriously trembled like a two-year-old's and my mum had to hold my hand.

  42. Savber100 says:

    Awesome!
Since we all know acknowledge that people are entitled to their opinions, we can hush up with the baseless accusation of how people are all "smart" and "superior" if they have different opinions and live happily ever after, safe with our own opinions of the film. ;P

  43. sean says:

ya that is kinda a spoiler lol sorry i got too crazy in my desires to watch it!!!! and i just wanted to know if gpuddle is a christian cause i am and that would be totally awesome if he was!!!!!!!!!!

  44. NarnianHarper says:

Augh, I have to wait until tomorrow but then the 3 years of agonizing suspense will finally be over!

  45. Zhixara says:

I don't even get to see it until the 17th. I did Narnia: The Musical earlier this year and we're getting the cast together to go see it as a group since we haven't seen each other since the last performance (in early October). Some of us have been able to hang out since the performance, but one of the 2 Lucy's (who is 8 and the most adorable girl ever!) who captured everyone's heart has only gotten to see me and only because I was at work and her family went to eat at the restaurant I serve at. So the 17th is when everyone is getting together to see the show so even though I COULD go see it, I don't want to lose out on the experience with my castmates. And the 17th is when Tron: Legacy comes out and I REALLY want to see that opening weekend….:*(

  46. Narniac4Aslan says:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I've been waiting sooooooooooooooooooo long for this and I can finally see the countdown as 0 0 0 0! I can't see it until Sunday though, but I'm praying that the weekend goes by uber fast!

  47. Scarlet13 says:

I'm sorry gulmpuddle that you didnt like it. I was praying that you would. But I need to see it for myself and have my own opinion of course. I can't wait!

  48. Scarlet13 says:

Sorry I didn't mean to reply on this!

  49. Queen Elizabeth says:

The wait is killing me! Only 3 or 4 more days!!!!! But the more I wait the more I want to see it πŸ™‚

  50. Queen Elizabeth says:

Does anyone else think that Georgie and Will P. would be an adorable couple? When they walked with arms linked at the royal premier I thought they looked so cute together! Food for thought…

  51. selena says:

i know!! the movie was simply amazing!!!! the acting was really good….especially skandar's.

  52. Chris says:

Was it better thsn the last two

  53. glumPuddle says:

It does indeed seem like it is aimed primarily at small children. Small ADD children.

  54. glumPuddle says:

One of the most memorable Reep quote: "While I can, I sail east in the Dawn Treader. When she fails me, I paddle east in my coracle. When she sinks, I shall swim east with my four paws. And when I can swim no longer, if I have not reached Aslan's country, or shot over the edge of the world in some vast cataract, I shall sink with my nose to the sunrise and Peepiceek will be head of the talking mice in Narnia."

…Are there any scenes in the film where that level of desperate desire and devotion are expressed by Reep? Through action or words?

Another Reep quote from the book: "I do not know what [the verse] means. But the spell of it has been on me all my life."

…Are there any scenes in the film where Reep conveys the idea that he has been longing for this his entire life?

  55. Is it just me, or would the Narnia books be better TV series.

It's just a thought, but at least the entire book would be watched.

  56. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

im surprised she and sex symbol skandar didnt get together- or at least as far as we know–

  57. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

I agree, only because they could be true to the books, have alll the books material in it, and not have to pander to movie standards – like typical blockbuster format stuff. more like the bbc would put out, where they respect the original material. ( and not so kiddie-ish, like the 1989 version was). then they wouldn't feel the need to tinker with the structure of the books . jus tlike the do english classic books on BBc, and pbs masterpiece theatre. and not de-christianize it.

  58. Farsight says:

Ya, we live in a small town too! not to mention, a poorly kept cinema. πŸ™‚ But we're goin' to see it very soon!!! YAY!

  59. Queen Elizabeth says:

Hey, my town doesn't even have a cinema so I have to drive 30 min. to see it.

  60. Queen Elizabeth says:

Ok first of all Skandar isn't a sex symbol. Even though he is referred to as the British Zac Efron. And secondly, he's four years older than her, it would be illigal. lol. Besides, as long as he's not taken I'm happy. They never seemed like they would be a good couple anyway.
