Voyage of The Dawn Treader is Splattered with Tomatoes!

The online movie review site RottenTomatoes.com now has the page up for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Only five reviews have been entered so far, but all five reviews have given the movie a fresh rating, though the reviews themselves are somewhat mediocre.  You can check it out by clicking here.

Thanks to Narnia_Maniac for the head’s up!

I think this means that the movie should do good, right?

    EE BOY

I'm not to worried about mediocre reviews, very very few movies ever get really good reviews, the job of a critic is to be critical.

  4. Louloudi the Centaur says:

100% approved right now, meaning it is certified fresh. I am pretty sure its not staying that way a week from now, because almost nothing ever gets 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, because not any movie is without flaws, in my opinion.

  5. Luke Reynolds says:

I really hope that 100% can stay up for at least a couple more days. And I also really hope that the first to knock it down will be someone like Armond White, so then people will KNOW its good.

haha,I detest that man. Quite a troll on RT and movie reviews in general. 😛

One of the comments says, "spectacular New Zealand locations"

Hehe, not exactly…but I'm glad he thought it looked that good!

  9. Beyond Narnia says:

a sixth review was added – sadly, he is VDT's first "rotten" review – however, if you read the full review, there are very few things he finds to be negative

  10. Louloudi the Centaur says:

Still, not the worst review ever.. I have seen movies get trashed MUCH harder than that.

  11. Beyond Narnia says:

Exactly. At first I thought "Oh no!" but as I read the full critique, I thought "Oh, he didn't hate it, he's just impossible to please – that's critics for you."

I still await the verdicts from the "Top Critics", though they probably will not be released until the tenth.

just got back from seeing it in 2D [in canberra]. the story line has been completly mudled up and what's up with the seven sword's. but, overall the christian alagories are still there and it is an exiting movie to go and see with friends i give it **** [4 stars out of 5].

    9 reviews so far… 7 fresh, 2 rotten 78%

Now, while I am not expecting Dawn Treader to be perfect at all, I do have a minor complaint to the negative reviewer regarding the special effects looking fake. It does a little, but does EVERYTHING have to look 100% real in all live action movies nowadays? I believe that people today rely on a movie too much to have everything look real. 20 years ago on the BBC, the first four Narnia books showed. Did the effects all look real? No. But did that stop people from loving it? No. You had to use your imagination, and pretend Aslan didn't move his mouth so slow. People today just don't use it anymore, now that we have high tech projects flying around everywhere.
